We chose the Horseradish Slaw and fries but I spent the meal wishing we had ordered one of the flavors of house made Chips. The fries are the skinny kind, which are not my favorite but that's just a personal choice. They brew their own tea and had both Sweet and Unsweetened. The Pulled Pork was delicious and moist, the Burnt Ends not so much; dry and overcooked. The sandwiches would be better if the bread was toasted but it was of good quality. I was not crazy about any of their 3 sauces but again, just preference. I would recommend trying this spot. It would be a great place to grab food from if you're headed to a picnic or trip, being right next to a gas station. Working nearby so i decided to give this place a try. Place is small and was full so I grabbed mine ro go. 1/3 lb pulled pork sandwich was my choice today. I got the basket so it came with 2 sides and i got mac n cheese and cheesy potatoes. The meat was plentiful but there wasn't much smoke flavor and seemed to be alot of fat mixed in. Still wasn't bad. The mac n cheese was really good and the cheesy potatoes fell short. Place was clean and busy. Most of the staff was friendly just slow. Lutz BBQ is a gas station marvel. I ate here twice during my visit because I couldn't get enough the first time. By not enough, I don't mean quantity. The portions were huge. I needed to try more of the menu. On my first night I had the pulled pork sandwich with 2 slides, green beans and potato salad. The green beans were nothing fancy- in a good way and had a solid meat flavor. The next night I consumed the Cuban sandwich with homemade chips and beans and coleslaw. I watched a potato transform into the most delicious potato chips in front of eyes. The zesty house spice for the chips is highly recommended. The staff were all very friendly and conversed a lot with me. They were mostly teenagers who were working extremely hard. That was nice to see. On my next trip to Jefferson City, I'm choosing a hotel by Lutz BBQ to enjoy this fantastic gas station find once again! read more

But the ribs were just average and the sides were not good; greasy room temperature fries and over salted green beans.
