I do not do acrylic, I just use my natural nails. I do a lot of outdoorsy type activities, including hunting, shooting, and fishing, but despite that, my gel nails always last and do not chip or peel even after going on trips. I really wanted to like this place. It's close, convenient, and during Covid, it's been difficult to determine who is open for services versus who is not. I definitely have my go to's, and was hoping that this would be another option. I called and was incredibly grateful that they are open and taking appointments. I arrived for my appointment, sanitize my hands before walking in, and was surprised that I was not asked to wash my hands or anything else prior to my appointment. I was told where to sit, and waited over 15+ minutes for my scheduled appointment. When I asked how much longer it was going to be, no one responded but eventually a woman came over to do my nails. She asked me if I had selected a nail polish color, and I just looked at her because I had not been offered any color options. As she started my nails I did ask her to sanitize her hands because it was unclear whether she had washed them or not from her previous customer. Thankfully, she got up to wash her hands and came back to do my nails. The appointment took about an hour which is standard time, and by the time she was ready to polish my nails, I had asked about different nail decor etc. She quoted me different prices but none of them made any sense based on what I was asking so I opted to pass on the extras. I was rather surprised that she did not ask me which shape I wanted or anything else for my nails, but frankly, I was grateful that they were open and taking customers. When it was time for me to pay my bill she charged me more money than what I have been quoted on the phone. I explain to her what I've been told on the phone and she essentially said that when I was told was wrong. There's nothing posted and there are no comparisons to make so I really had no choice other than to pay the amount. Yes, I still gave her a nice tip because after all, she did perform the service. I was irritated at being overcharged based on what I've been told on the phone, and it left a definite bad taste in my mouth. Will I go back? Desperation does what desperation does. I have my places that I go to that I love, and they are always first on my list. I will say that what I thought was interesting about this particular salon is that the services that they offer a range from hair cutting on one side of the building to pedicures and manicures etc. on the other side of the building. I guess for some people it's a one stop shop The salon itself is clean, and parking is easy and free. I went in the day before Mother's Day to get a pedicure. It was packed when I arrived, but I was seated really quickly. I needed a pedicure so badly!
