Lyle's was such a vibe. We came for brunch and the DJ was on, mimosas were flowing, and the energy was great. The chicken and waffles and the short rib hash were both amazing. We got the unlimited mimosas and they had about four different options, so you could mix it up and kind of make your own. The decor is super modern and really nice too. Definitely a fun brunch spot!
TLDR - cool, moody vibe and delicious food! Great for a date or drinks with friends. Vibe - this restaurant has such a great vibe, I would come back just for the ambiance. Our waiter was helpful and attentive but definitely started to rush us out towards the end. I wish he would have suggested we sit at the bar if he wanted to free up the table. Food - a friend and I ordered drinks, dessert and several dishes to share. Short rib with a leek cream sauce was delicious! It was served with a small portion of sweet potato which was flavorless and remained largely uneaten. Crispy pork belly was excellent! Flavorful and prepared in a way that was easy to enjoy. Broccolini was lacking flavor. To drink I got an espresso martini - excellent! And for desert I enjoyed the affogato. The gelato was surprisingly flavorful and delicious and I loved that they served the espresso separate.
The ambiance was great for grabbing dinner/drinks. The drinks were delicious but on the weaker side in my opinion LOL. I got their salmon for my entree which was cooked perfectly. The star of the show was the apple cobbler. We expected it to be small but it was a generous portion that my friend and I were sadly unable to finish. Overall would come back again!
Gather your friends, bring a date, or take yourself on a solo date..whatever your decision, this place accommodates them all! Saturday brunch was AMAZING! Our reservations were at 1pm and I must say that the DJ kept it lively until 3pm when the music stopped. Thank you to the entire staff from the hostess to our waiter, Ronal. Drinks: I didn't get the mimosas but enjoyed a few glasses of sauvignon blanc-crisp and satisfying! For my entree I went with the short rib hash minus the garlic cream sauce. This dish packed SO much flavor and was just enough to share or have leftovers for the next day. Perfect balance of fattiness from the short rib, sweetness from the red peppers and onions, earthiness from the well seasoned potatoes, and added protein from the fried egg. My only wish was that it could have been elevated with a runny egg to seal the deal. Nonetheless, the food was delicious! Our bill was to be expected but I will say that for the price for person, you really can't find another brunch this affordable in DC. I'll be back again!
I was really excited to try the place that has DC tik tok up in ARMS. Upon entry, you're greeted with the sexiest, most elegant decor and ambiance - perfect for a date night. The bartender was both talented and attentive, and the doorman was equally as kind. Unfortunately, I cannot say the food matched the vibe and lovely staff. I ordered the chicken pot pie, which genuinely tasted like nothing, and my friend had the chicken wrap, which she said was perfectly fine, but not memorable. We also split the crab cake slider, which was sadly more filler than crab. The star of the show was the perfectly cooked curly fries, which I would honestly come back for! But honestly, this was a bit disappointing.
Went to Lyle's for their "Girl Dinner" special. It includes a martini, a healthy helping of curly fries and a substantial (in size) Caesar salad. We were able to add a protein to our salad for an up charge but it was totally worth it! Only tried the short rib dish from their main menu, could use a bit more seasoning but the short rib was tender. The staff were attentive but not obtrusive and we felt taken care of. I remember this space as The Riggsby which is what it was called before the hotel it is in was renamed. It is a cozy and well appointed space. Reminds me a lot of the restaurants I loved in Harlem.
Went for brunch on a Saturday! Surprisingly, there was a decent amount of seating but we did have a res to be safe. People say it's loud and, be warned, it is. But the throwback jams were super fun! To eat, I had the short rib hash and it was yummy! The meat could use more seasoning but otherwise lots of great elements.
I visited Lyle's with a friend and I have all the details! So let's get into it. First, the ambiance is very cozy, very romantic. Think dimly lit, quiet, smooth vibes. That being said, if you like to take pictures be sure to take them before you come, as flash cameras are not allowed. But very nice, clean, and aesthetically pleasing! Now, the service. I have to say I was a bit disappointed here. I arrived about 15 minutes before my guest so I was initially there alone. I was seated immediately which was good and ordered a glass of Cabernet. Unfortunately, although nice, our server Ronald was not very attentive initially, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. He even told me eventually after I'd been waiting for a bit "oh, when your other person gets here, I'll be way more attentive . Don't worry" . I think he meant it as a joke but it was extremely off putting to me and sullied my experience somewhat. Next, let's get into the eats. Let me start by saying EVERYTHING was fantastic and perfectly seasoned. We had the cheddar biscuits and prosciutto to start off. The biscuits were flaky, fresh, and masterfully made. They were everything you would want in a starter. We were so happy yet not overly fully and it made us excited for the rest of the meal. I had the Cod, which came with squash and a salad. The Cod was flaky, seasoned well, and made with love. This was the BEST squash I've ever had. The presentation was top tier and the flavors all blended perfectly. The salad was fresh and tasty as well. My date had the chicken pot pie and a Caesar salad. I tasted a bite of both and I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the most pleasurable bite of food I've had in a long time. The pot pie crust was flaky, fresh, and crafted perfectly. It was a bit chilly outside and this made the PERFECT meal for dinner. My date could not stop raving about it. Run, don't walk and please go try this, it was absolutely incredible. The Caesar salad was fresh and perfectly put together as well. Overall, this food was outstanding. The service improved somewhat but the initial interaction left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth. But if you're looking for good eats, definitely stop by ! You won't regret it.
Beautiful decor with a nice ambiance. The bar/lounge area is located in the front when you first walk in. Perfect for having drinks with friends and catching up (intimate setting with couch/chairs and small coffee tables). The restaurant is towards the back with a similar set up and beautiful decor. The staff provided good service and our waiter was very nice and attentive, I believe his name is Tony. The drinks and the food were absolutely delicious! The short rib was tender and cooked to perfection. The Cesar salad was amazing and let me just say... the bucatini shrimp ... chefs kiss! The shrimp dish had a sauce that had a little kick to it but it was not over powering. It was so good that I asked for more bread to soak up the sauce! Amazing dish!
One of my absolute favorite brunch spots in DC! Lyle's is always a good time - beautiful space with warm natural light, personable staff, delicious food, and great music (DJ during brunch on Saturdays/Sundays). Their brunch is full of classic dishes that can cater to any taste palette. My personal favorites are Shakshuka and the Lyle Cheeseburger (with yummy curly fries). They offer bottomless brunch drinks for an additional $28 - mimosas (with a variety of juices) and bloody mary's.
Lyle's is such a great place! W continue to come here again and again and love to bring our out of town guests here for Sunday brunch. I love that anyone can do the bottomless mimosas and if everyone at the table doesn't want to do it they don't have to. The service is always great. We had a party over 6 and from emailing to secure a reservation to the day of everything was constantly flowing in a smooth fashion. The music was great and added a lively feature for the group. No one had complaints about the food and loved everything. We will definitely be back.

Lyle's was so good I ate here 2 days in a row! I was on a staycation in the City and Lyle's is the restaurant located in the hotel I stayed at. The first night I had broccolini, Branzino with calamari and oysters as appetizers. The toppings for the oysters were amazing! The oysters were fresh. The calamari was fried to perfection and the sauce with it was tasty! The 2nd night I got the fried chicken dish. It was delish. The portion size is huge and can be shared. I had a mocktail and it was sooooo good and refreshing. For dessert I had the ice cream. I could only take a few bites. The serving size was huge! The customer service was amazing both nights. The waiters are so attentive and really take good care of you. Making sure you have what you need and that food tastes good. The ambiance is relaxing. The low lighting makes it super calming. You cannot go wrong with Lyle's. It's been added as one of my fave spots. It was extra perfect for my staycation at Lyle Hotel. read more
came here for the promotional "girl dinner" menu with my girlfriends. the salad was delicious and the curly fries were a fun touch. you had to sit at the bar but the bartender served us quickly and was super kind! the bar is inside a hotel and has lower lighting which gave it a cool atmosphere. a little pricey for what is was but a fun experience! read more

I've been here twice both for Brunch. The first Sunday I ordered the banana bread and an order of crispy bacon. My friend ordered the Short Rib Hash and recommended it highly so I ordered it the second time. It should be called Peppers, Onions, with a splash of Short Ribs... there was barely any scrambled eggs with it! I would not recommend that dish! The service was great the first time because the bartender gave my friend the full amount of time for the unlimited mimosas. The second time she had to practically beg for a third glass and was charged $36 instead of the bottomless price of $28. The atmosphere is nice because they have a DJ each Sunday. If I go back, I'm uncertain which menu item I would order outside of the side of bacon (which was a different type of pork bacon each time? What happened to consistency?) read more

We came here for brunch last Saturday and I was pleased. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to grab two seats at the bar. We already knew we would do bottomless and from my understanding, there is not time limit for that. They do stop serving brunch at 3pm, so they do last call for the bottomless at 2:45. I got the blood orange flavor and I like that they give you a carafe of champagne and the mixer on the side. That way, you can control how much juice you add to your mimosa. Just a splash for me lol. For entrees, I got the salmon Benedict and a side of curly fries. My husband got the steak and eggs. My meal was great. The salmon Benedict has a nice twist, as it comes with a cornbread base instead of the traditional English muffin. This gave it a sweet twist and also made it very filling. The curly fries were great and I was glad that I noticed them on the menu. They don't have it listed under the sides, but I saw that it comes with the burger. I'm going to need more establishments to serve curly fries because you can never go wrong with them. Hubby wasn't quite feeling the steak & eggs. He had to ask for salt & peeped for it. I felt bad for him, because I loved my meal lol. Oh, and how could I forget, they have a DJ too. The music was good and wasn't too loud. Lyle's will be a brunch staple for me. read more
Went to Lyle's for dinner with some friends on a Saturday night Recommend making a reservation! Everything was AMAZING The ambiance and decor really set the vibe of the place. My friends both ordered the steak and loved it. The steak was cooked perfectly and juicy while not tough. I had the smoked mushroom tagliatelle and it was very flavorful. The broccolini was also very goo. My one friend originally ordered the salmon but they ran out of that dish. The server was nice enough to bring lamb meatballs on the house. Celebrated a friends birthday here for brunch and really enjoyed our time there. Food was good and drinks were flowing! Here are some of my takeaways: Environment The restaurant is located in the Lyle hotel. It's not the biggest space but they make sure to get as much bang for the space they have. Theres space for bar seating and for tables. They have a beautiful sky light in the middle of the space that adds to the ambiance. On Saturday for brunch they had a DJ that added to the great vibes and energy. If you have a large party they have a private room in the back. It's a bit isolated from the flow of the restaurant which could be a good or bad thing depending on what vibe you're going for. Service The service was great. Our server was fast and efficient and made sure we had what we needed which you know is especially important for bottomless mimosas. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and made sure we were settled in. Food They have a really good bottomless brunch option and they bring out full bottles of champaign with a variety of juice options all at once. They don't shy away like a lot of other places do. The food menu is somewhat limited but looks to have something that everyone will enjoy. Most of the party I was with had the steak and eggs. I had the french toast and the lyle benedict - which is basically a ham benedict made with a cheddar cornbread. The french toast was super delicious. will definitely be back for that. The lyle benedict was tasty although I'm not a big ham fan. I will definitely come back to try the salmon benedict. Overall the food was good and I will be back to try other things off the menu. Overall Beautiful space, delicious food and a great vibe (shoutout to the DJ). The bottomless mimosas were great and we ended up having a really good time. The ambiance of Lyle's restaurant was so nice! It was upscale and nicely decorated however, it was also comfortable and casual at the same time. However, the tables were placed INCREDIBLY close to one another. It felt like I was a part of the party that was seated next to us because our tables were so close. Not even one foot a part. There were a few groups of 6-8 people so they can accommodate larger parties as well as small groups of 2-4. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the music from the DJ, although they ended pretty abruptly around 2:30 pm. The servers confused us a bit with the options for the bottomless mimosas but, aside from that, they were knowledgeable and attentive. The food was surprisingly good! When I first received my meal of eggs benedict, I was not enthusiastic at first because it looked very plain but the flavors were delicious and the portion was perfect for me. I also enjoyed my lavender margarita a lot. My friend really enjoyed her short rib hash as well and bottomless mimosas. read more

Honestly one of the best hotel experiences I've had. I booked the reservation in advance via Expedia and our check-in was set to 4pm. Our train arrived 9am that morning and we went to check to see how early we'd be able to check in. The team at the front desk allowed us to check in that morning, making our long weekend in 90 degree weather so much more hospitable! I chose the hotel based on the reviews and Art Deco interiors. I absolutely love this style and every area of the hotel had charming elements of it. Additionally, the front desk extended our stay until 1:30pm that next day upon request, as a courtesy. This made all of the difference. After we checked out the next morning, they gave us tags while we checked our bags so we could enjoy more exploring in DC! We booked the two queen beds with a kitchenette. This offered us a little bit of extra room and gave us a nice space to enjoy our Nespressos in the morning or a small bottle of chilled wine in the evening. The mini bar had sodas and champagne. There was also a basket of snacks, next to a mini bottle of vodka and bourbon. Helpfully the mini bar menu was available so we knew the price of any snacks we wanted. I've posted a picture! Our first morning, after a comfortable and restful sleep, we went to the Lyle restaurant for breakfast. I ordered the baked eggs ($14) which was one of the best shakshukas that I've had. The most surprising item was the hash browns ($5) though. I'd come back for both of these! I ordered a side of fruit ($6) as well which was almost a meal in itself. I took most of it to go and put it up in the fridge upstairs while we were at a museum. Breakfast was peaceful and tranquil, but by noon when we got back from exploring, it shifted to weekend brunch vibes. There was a bouncer at the entrance to our hotel, a line, and Usher blasting over the speakers. If I had a day 2, I would have returned, everyone seemed to be having a great time. Two museums and 95 degrees later, we decided to check out the bar, we sat down in these fun hexagonal chairs and sipped a Cactus Cooler (tequila, prickly pear, triple sec, and lime) - $16. This was refreshing given the heat, but when I spotted the pisco and knew a pisco sour was the missing element I needed to make this a perfect late afternoon. The bartenders, like all the of staff at The Lyle, were friendly and helpful. On the off hours it seems to be a quiet place to enjoy a nice drink with good company. I'm missing it already! I came in for my birthday dinner here. The service was top notch and the salmon was incredible. It was perfectly cooked so that I only needed a fork to cut into it and it had the perfect crust that added texture and flavor to each bite. I also loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was inside a hotel which we weren't expecting but once inside it gave an upscale dining experience. Unfortunately we did not get the servers name but I hope he is recognized for his hard work. He really made the experience. We came in on Thursday the 26th at around 8:30pm and we're sitting at a round table for 6 next to the door for the kitchen. read more
A friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. The restaurant is located just off the side of the lobby, in the Lyle hotel. The decor is absolutely beautiful, and there's also a large bar with plenty of stools for seating. They have a DJ during brunch on the weekends, and he played great music while we were there. I loved that he played some of my favorite Afrobeat songs, and he definitely kept the vibes going throughout our entire meal. The menu doesn't have a ton of different options, but there looks to be at least one thing to satisfy everybody. There's also an option to add bottomless mimosas - they bring you a carafe of champagne, and four different juice options of OJ, pear elderflower, blood orange, and lavender lemon. The juices were delicious, and my absolute favorite was the lavender lemon. I think I would come back just for the drinks. We ordered banana bread, the short rib hash, and the steak and eggs. All of the items were solid. The service was lacking however, we had to wave down the server multiple times to take our order, refill our drinks, etc. I understand it was busy, but restaurants tend to be busy on the weekends, and I wish managers would do a better job of ensuring the floor and kitchen are appropriately staffed. All in all, I would give this place another try, but I truly hope they make it a point to improve upon their service. read more

Be so for real right now, does this steak brunch plate look like it's worth $23? Maybe for ants. I've been to Lyle's for dinner and loved it, but brunch IS NOT IT. The way that my friend and I both gasped when we saw my plate come out.The DJ was also way too loud for how small that dining room is but that's my fault for assuming that the brunch would be low-key and not as rowdy. Okay, this is the cutest little breakfast restaurant ever, located in the hotel, Lyle's. After my boyfriend picked me up from the airport (around 8 AM), I was interested in ordering the short rib hash I saw on the Yelp page. However, I learned that Lyle's only has a brunch menu on weekends (with a DJ, supposedly) after we were seated. Initially, I was disappointed because I'm not a huge fan of basic breakfast items like my boyfriend is. But, to my surprise, I ended up loving our orders. The customer service and the decorations were such a vibe. I am looking forward to flying back to DC to have breakfast on a weekday and/or to try the brunch on the weekends here.. and maybe even booking a night here!! read more

Lyle's is the perfect spot for happy hour. Cute location inside the hotel and the bar was full so I would recommend going with 1-2 pp max. Food options were hearty, and the food itself was flavorful. Quick service at the bar and the chef/owner was walking around to make sure everything was ok. The drink options includes Black-owned wines and I loved that. Their signature cocktail had grapefruit the day I was there and it's not my favorite flavor but it was refreshing. I can't wait to go back. read more

This is definitely one of DC's hidden gem restaurants. Lyle opened in 2021 and has been a staple in my dining ever since. Nestled quietly in DuPont Circle in the Lyle Hotel, you are welcomed to a warm and comfortable dining environment with friendly staff and amazing food. With a variety of dishes and price points, there is truly something for everyone on this menu. Having ordered mostly everything on their menu at this point, some favorites of mine include the cheeseburger, the friend chicken, and the salmon. Additionally their cocktail and wine list is quite extensive, including a full bar for any drink you desire. Definitely put this on your list of regular spots. read more

Lyles is located inside of the hotel. I tried Lyles because someone gave great reviews on their happy hour but didn't include that they have a different specialty cocktail drinks. The one I had was pretty which was like an old fashion and I love them. My sister didn't like her drink because it was really strong. They did offer to remake it but she declined. My other sister had a glass of red wine which was good. The foods we ordered were the fries, lamb meatballs and curry cauliflower. The fries were perfect (I also just loves me some fries). The meatballs needed to be season but once mixed in the sauce they were cool, and the cauliflower had great flavors but it was crispy enough. The service was ok we did get great help securing a seat. But my sister had waited for her cauliflower for about 15 -20 mins. The guy didn't come back to check in with us we had to eventually flag him down. The inside os very beautiful nice for dates, HH and etc. I definitely want to give them another try. read more
Great spot and experience. The service was top notch, our server was attentive and just so nice. The food was also great, the burrata and pear salad was excellent with just the right amount of umami from the mushrooms. I loved the gluten free fried chicken and the number of gluten free options on the menu is incredible. The wine selection was extensive and the NZ Sauv Blanc was excellent. The space is very aesthetic and quiet. Would be great for an intimate date night or a bigger business dinner. read more
Lyle's was a GREAT vibe with a live DJ and amazing music! It was a bit pricey, but definitely a more luxurious space and area, so the prices match that. The service was great, with the waiter being very attentive to our needs, but also not being too bothersome when we were just vibing to the music. The food was okay. I had the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, which was good but I feel as though it's very hard to mess up a bacon egg and cheese. The chicken and waffles was very good, but I didn't particularly like the sauce it came with... it wasn't exactly syrup, but something a little thicker. The potato, meat, and egg dish my sister had was probably the best thing we ordered. It had a nice balance of savory, meat, and potato with vegetables. If I come back, I'll be sure to order that. read more

First review of 2023! Enjoyed Lyle's brunch on New Year's day and it was very nice. There was a DJ that kept the party going! (definitely complimented the bottomless mimosas! Lol). This curated selection of dishes celebrates the vibrant colors and delicate flavors of spring, crafted with care and creativity by their exquisite culinary team. This restaurant is located inside the Lyle Hotel in Dupont Circle. They offer a variety of seating and specialize in craft cocktails and have an extensive wine selection as well. Talk about an upscale experience! Stopped in for Christmas dinner and absolutely fell in love. The ambiance is beautiful, the lighting alone sets the tone. The hostess seated us and she was very welcoming, once our server arrived he let us know about the specials and his recommendations while giving us time to look at the menu. We decided to order off of their normal menu, and we were quite impressed! The quality of the food and drinks was well worth it and I'm impatiently the next trip back! read more
Had weekend brunch here with a group. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and has gorgeous light fixtures. The brunch DJ on the weekend provided good vibes and was not too loud or crazy. It's a good spot for bottomless brunch with friends or dining with a younger group. I enjoyed the Buttermilk Waffle with Fried Chicken and the Steak and Eggs, and felt the dishes were good portions and reasonably priced. We visited for dinner during restaurant week on a Thursday. We had to wait at the bar area for about 15 min or so before a table was available, which was pretty cute and comfy--the bar has great space to invite friends to comfortably enjoy drinks, and there is some good bar food options. I didn't bother ordering a drink at that time since I had a pretty empty tummy but my bf did enjoy some tequila on the rocks. The bar team was accommodating, they were mostly prompt and timely with checking in on us. We were seated close to the kitchen, right next to the private dining room. It was a great view of the entire restaurant, but! awfully cold. However given COVID and that establishments should ensure that air is circulating well, I felt some kind of relief. The decor for this place is eye catching, dimmed light setting a nice intimate mood for both friends and hot dates. The service we received was commendable given that there were only two waiters on the clock that day. So, the delays we experienced with our waitress was reasonable and didn't ruin the night. We started off with table bread. The bread was a bit over baked and it wasn't moist but the flavor was there and the butter helped cut through the dryness. For our first course, we ordered the smoked duck croquette and the broccolini. The smoked duck was savory, each warm bite packed a delicious punch. The broccolini wasn't anything special, it was quite firm but the black parm and egg yolk brought the dish to life--we probably wouldn't order again tho. For our second course, we got the fried chicken and the short rib. The fried chicken reminded me of bonchon fried chicken and to my surprise, it was not fried chicken cutlets that a lot of restaurants tend to serve. The chicken was cooked to perfection, absolutely juicy with every bite consisting of sweet and savory flavors. Finger licking good, no exaggeration. The potato salad that accompanied it was a 9/10. A touch of salt and sugar was missing but otherwise it was quite alright for restaurant potato salad. The short rib was a solid dish. I absolutely enjoyed the corn purée probably way more than I did the rib itself, but overall? 10/10. For our last course, we opted for the chocolate tart and cheesecake. We were afraid that the chocolate tart was going to be one of those mousse dishes however we weren't disappointed. It reminded me of a s'mores. Fashioning every bite to include the crust and ice cream? A home run. The cheese cake was not my favorite, it was prettyyyy firm. I was hoping for a more softer texture, creamier if you will. I wouldn't try my hand at this one again. As for my drink, I had the Pomelo Dream. The ingredients reminded me of a mojito so I figured why not? It was a bit more tart than I'd hope for but it was good and refreshing. We absolutely plan to visit again, with many other incredible options available, we absolutely must. read more
