Came here for dinner when we got in to our hotel late Friday night. Service was a little slow but there were only 2 waitresses that we saw and they were busting there asses with a lot of seated tables. The boys enjoyed there burgers and the fries were really tasty. My simple side salad was huge for the being a side salad however it did say it came with nuts and cranberries and those were left out, I did really like the guava dressing. The broski and I had a quick lunch at the Hilton. This place was voted best restaurant for 2019 so we had to try for ourselves. The menu is pretty extensive offering burgers, sandwiches, breakfast plates, sweets, and much more. I ordered the Grilled 1/2 BBQ Chicken which comes with steamed vegetables and white rice -- really well prepared, I must say. I asked for a side of BBQ dipping sauce and it made it that much more tasty. My brother finished his entire burger sharing that it was nicely cooked and not too big of a portion for lunch. This place also has some cool food challenges. * finish 5 pounds of pancakes (timed) or, * finish a 5 pound cheeseburger in 45 minutes (free if finished and $45 if not). He has a packed schedule this week but plans on meeting me on Friday to take on one of those challenges. It's going to be fun to take pictures -- I'll post them soon. First off, MAC 24/7 is no longer open 24/7. Due to COVID, this hotel restaurant closes at 10:30pm. No worries as I recommend coming here for breakfast! This joint continues to uphold its tradition of providing large portions of tasty (aka "ono") food at fair prices. One of their best values is the "MAC Attack". 3 mini pancakes, 2 eggs, potatoes, bacon AND link sausage. Wow. 2 of us ended up sharing it! Their mochi pancakes have a great texture and tasted great when coupled with butter and syrup. The Kalbi Style Short Rib bfast consisted of perfectly grilled and marinade meat. And to top it off, we were entertained! After learning that it was our daughter's birthday, our server played "Happy Birthday" using his month as a trumpet. Cool and unique! read more

MAC 24/7 is located in the Hilton Waikiki Beach, and contrary to the name, and due to Covid, they are no longer open all night long. But my experiences here have always been just okay, and never great. The food is decent, and the service neither good or bad, but you get what need and that's about it. We came here for breakfast on this occasion, and had the Avocado Toast, Mochi Pancake, Pulled Kalua Style Pork Sandwich, and the Loco Moco. The avocado toast didn't have much flavor, and the pancake was on the drier side, and didn't really seem like much of a mochi pancake at all. The pulled pork sandwich and loco moco were alright, but wouldn't get them again. Love coming here because the food is great, vibe is great and I always get to try something new when I come. The first time I came it was with my bf and my group of friends. So u would say it was a special occasion. My bf doesn't come to Hawaii that often (LDR) so it was nice to have a sit down mean with special ppl and good vibes. I ordered this ahi dinner plate (can't remember the exact name) but it was real expensive but totally worth it! I think it was like $31 or something like that. Then my bf ordered something else and everyone seemed to enjoy there food. They also have a breakfast option as well that's served all day. The other times I've came here was because of work. We planned an all staff appreciation at the Hilton so we where being treated! 2 thumbs for being able to try the drinks and desert because it was recommended. Has I not been here for this, I wouldn't have known and tried it out... (shout out Lisa!) With that being said, the Guava Lemonade definitely takes the crown, so please try it if you're debating to get a drink! As for food, during lunch, the fish and chips have the perfect amount of tart and it hits the spot for me when I was craving fried food!!!! We came here to eat breakfast before our Helicopter ride. We told our server Joel that we are on limited time. He quickly took our order and got our food delivered to our table in less than 10 min. I have to say that Joel was super professional and very attentive. I love great customer service and he definitely is amazing! We ordered... M.A.C. 24/7 is a hidden gem inside Hilton and it was opened 24 hours (before Covid). It is open to the public for dining too! I found this spot on the whim when I was looking for food around 1/2 am and quite surprised they were opened when most places were closed at that hour (before Covid). I ordered their mac and cheese along with their mochi pancakes. Their mac and cheese was pretty cheesy and their portions were good enough for 2 people to share. It was decent, just a bit on the saltier side. For their mochi pancakes, it was a surprise to find it on the menu and I love mochi so I had to try it. It was okay for what it was, but I wished it had a bit more mochi texture to it. This spot reminded me of Denny's/IHOP, but so much better and with better food choices. read more

I typically don't put butter on my waffles or pancakes, but this apple spiced butter is fantastic, I used all of it! The perfect compliment for the syrup. The chicken was the absolutely best I've ever had. Very tender, juicy, and flavorful. The gravy was amazing too! I used all of it. The location is inside the Hilton Waikiki. Overall the food was standard, nothing tasted particularly delicious. Everything in the menu is served all day. Large portions for some of the dishes make up for the price. ----- Mochi Pancakes: comes with butter and syrup on the side ($15). Add toppings: blueberry, strawberries and cream, or bananas foster ($4). The three pancakes had a chewy consistency and were more than enough between the two of us. Strawberries were fresh and cream was thick. ----- Island Breakfast: 2 eggs your way, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit cup, choice of one: Applewood smoked bacon, link or Portuguese sausage ($18). I had sunny-side up eggs with Portuguese sausage. The egg yolks were runny and the other components were well-seasoned. ----- 3 Egg Omelet Your Way: breakfast potatoes, choice of 3 fillings: ham, Portuguese sausage, Applewood smoked bacon, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomato, spinach, cheddar or swiss cheese ($17). An average omelet. If picking cheese, note that they just put a slice on top rather than actually having it as a filling. ----- Avocado Toast: toasted sweet bread, smashed avocado, local mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, lemon-olive oil, alaea salt ($12). Add egg for $2 each. Toast was just a plain slice of bread and not really toasted. ----- M.A.C. Something about the poached egg was off-putting and I had to spit it out. ----- Steel Cut Oatmeal with Assorted Toppings: flax seed, granola, dried cranberry, sliced almonds ($10). A healthy breakfast with well-cooked oats. Would have been nice if there was seasoning like cinnamon to give the oatmeal some flavor. ----- Fruit Parfait: vanilla yogurt, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, house-made granola ($11). Comes in a large cup and is great for a light breakfast. ----- Half Papaya: comes with a slice of lime ($5). It's a rather small papaya. The top part was bitter but otherwise ripe. ----- Kalua Pork Quesadilla: house-made smoked pulled pork, 4-cheese blend, BBQ mesquite seasoning, flour tortilla, guacamole, lime sour cream, chipotle aioli, lomi tomatoes ($14). Ordered to-go. The quesadillas had a decent amount of filling. Tortillas weren't that crisp despite eating it immediately after receiving it. ----- A small line of people typically gathers waiting for the 6 AM opening, but inside has plenty of seats. I'll be honest, this restaurant in the Hilton Hotel was one of my top 3 restaurants while visiting Oahu. The food here is fricken incredible. It's American cuisine and nothing very Hawaiian, but this place is really something else. What I really enjoyed: 1. Ribeye steak and eggs: steak is cooked perfectly and coated in a garlic-herbed butter. Also comes with baked potatoes. 2. Hawaiian "Fresh Catch of the Day" Tacos: I actually was not sure if this was going to be good or not, but it was really fricken good. You get 4 massive tacos filled with a bunch of toppings and whatever the fish of the day is. 3. Mochi Pancakes: This is what I miss the most from this place. You get giant yummy, fluffy, chewy mochi pancakes. Overall, this place is a 5/5 for me and if your staying at Hilton Waikiki, you get a solid discount here and even if your not getting the discount, the food here is so good and worth it that you should come at least once anyways. read more

The restaurant is split into two sections - a generically-decorated indoor dining room with a bar, huge booths, and a private room to the side, and a more inviting patio-like dining room with garden views. We were seated in the bar side for some reason (and not told about the other option), amongst the noise of carts being wheeled by and the constant clanking of dishes and silverware as they were cleared. MENU: Light breakfast fare, traditional & local items including a 5-lb. pancake eating challenge, Mexican, Italian and American lunch & dinner entrees, sandwiches, wraps, and alcohol. The entire menu is available from opening till closing. FOOD: Buttermilk Waffle - $12.00 I'm usually an egg with sides eater for breakfast but didn't want anything heavy so this sounded perfect. The square-shaped, homemade waffle came out hot, crispy and moist with butter on the side. It had that delicious creamy flavor that I look for in waffles. A bit pricey for just one piece. My daughter was in search for really good mochi pancakes. I found MAC 24/7 located inside the Hilton Waikiki hotel. When we arrived, it took a few minutes for someone to notice us. But when they did, we were seated immediately. It all went smoothly from there. Service was paced nicely and the food was very good. This is an American restaurant that serves breakfast all day, burgers and comfort food. They are known for their HUGE pancake. I love getting the pancakes! We've also ordered the chicken and waffles, burgers, French Fries and etc. Portions are HUGE. Prices are reasonable! You can get an entree for $20 or less. They are able to accommodate a large party in a private area. Great place to come if you're looking for a private area of 20 people or less in Waikiki. Came here with some friends after tennis and the first thing we found out is that Mac 24/7 is no longer 24 (it should be mac 16/7). They still have the famous 5lb pancake challenge, but some people went for the Mac Attack breakfast platter, fish and chips, I got crispy shrimp and calamari, and some got seared ahi, onion rings and poke nachos. The best thing by far was the onion rings. They had a good batter and taste and the portion was good. Everything else was quite over priced and took a very long time to come out. It was close to the end of the night, there was only a couple of other tables, and it took almost 10 minutes to even get greeted, so I wasn't sure if we would even be able to place our orders before the kitchen closed. The server was not friendly, and we ran out of water multiple times (the busser even brought over some water for us since the server was nowhere to be found). Plus, there is only valet parking, so that's an extra charge. Won't be back soon unless I have friends in town who are looking for a gigantic plate of pancakes! read more

Love sitting on the counter, four big screen TV's for viewing. The menu is thought out pretty well, accommodating to most cravings 24hrs/7days a week. We came in for a early breakfast while staying in Waikiki and ordered up the Kalbi with eggs and the Island Style Breakfast. The Island Style is your typical eggs, choice of meat, rice or potatoes and choice of toast. The Kalbi plate came with three nicely charred pieces, two eggs and rice. The marinade on the Kalbi is excellent and an great scrumptious choice of your craving something with meat. The service was superb, very friendly attentive and their attitude just gives off a good vibe. I swear I wrote a review for this place. It's not here anymore so I'll rewrite it. I had dinner with friends here on a Thursday night. Almost everyone ordered the prime rib because it was prime rib night. It was a nice piece for $28. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I ordered mine medium well and it was cooked to my liking. I also came back with the hubby. I had a 20% off coupon which is nice. I got the kalbi with over easy eggs and rice. The hubby got the pancake with egg and meat combo. We finished our meal with a fried banana fosters cheesecake dessert. No complaints with the food. I really liked my kalbi with eggs. Both times the service was superb. They topped off the water glasses and checked to see if we needed anything else. There is no self parking in this hotel. It's strictly valet. The menu lists it with chocolate chips, maple bourbon glaze, with a lemon cream cheese icing and woooow all of these ingredients together was delicious! I stay in the hotel 2-3 months a year and eat at Mac 24/7 every day during those times. I'm keenly aware of their numerous menu changes, the "Covid" staffing issues, and the food and beverage management/chef turnover that seems never ending. That being said, my most recent stay had numerous challenges with the food and service at Mac24/7. The latest "new" menu dropped a little over a week ago and honestly there wasn't much change. The highlight to me was that they brought back the kalbi steak salad, although they renamed it the "Thai" salad. But one of the issues is the staff seemed perplexed by the new menu and acted like they had no idea what was available. Every inquiry or request led to, "let me check with the kitchen to see if we have that". No one knew what was available. Which also leads to some pretty glaring consistency issues. You can order the same dish 5 days in a row (which I have) and each time it'll be very different. Sometimes surprisingly different. Seems like a quick training and menu overview would be in order for all cooks, servers, and bartenders. Which leads me to bartenders... Jason that works the counter bar is outright mean, rude, and anti-service. He's been there for years and has always been fairly laconic for someone who works in the service industry, but he acts completely put out by any requests, anyone ordering food at his bar, or anyone even coming into the bar. That guy sucks. My coworker ordered a $50 ribeye steak and Jason told him it would cost $2 extra for horseradish. I asked for a refill of iced tea and he said it would cost $4.95, and that's just the surface of the issues with that guy. Maybe nickel and diming patrons is part of the newest leadership's direction. One thing is for sure, the prices have sky rocketed over the past couple years but the overall quality of the meals has gone downhill. The MICROWAVE cooking is out of control. The vegetables are now microwaved, the shrimp scampi I ate last night was microwaved and the sauce had separated. The Brick Chicken is microwaved. Once in a blue moon I'll be served a meal that is made fresh to order, but most dishes are pre made and then microwaved for service. You can easily tell because the plates are nuclear hot, the food is over cooked, and sauces like in the scampi I had last night was completely separated. This restaurant now serves very expensive microwaved meals. So if you've read this whole review and are curious about what's good... The kalbi salad they brought back is pretty good. Anything having to do with the kalbi is pretty good. The brick chicken when it's cooked to order. The scampi when it's cooked to order. The steaks are fine but over valued. Most of their menu is good with the caveat of, when it's cooked to order and you don't mind the high price of it. The burgers are a little better than they used to be, although you never know which fries they're going to serve it with. Jason said I could only get sidewinder fries and got visibly frustrated when I told him they have straight fries. Did I mention that guy sucks? The bartender Adelaide is super friendly and hospitable. She's a shining star of what that place could be if they staffed appropriately. Sandra is a fantastic server. Tamoni is awesome as well. Joe is always dependable friendly. Of course everyone loves Peter but he's only up at the pool now. None of the above will stop me from eating at Mac24/7 every day. It's just a plea for the leadership team to make it better. A few simple tweaks and it'd be 5 stars from most of the reviews I've read. It's very simple to increase the value and experience for your patrons. Lower the prices to match the current quality of the dishes being served. If the microwaved scampi was $10 I'd love it. But at $32 it's not up to par. Or you keep the high prices and raise the quality and consistency of the dishes, with more house-made food, and house-made dressings. Stop nickel and diming patrons for sauces and a to-go box. Hire friendly staff that actually want to be at work and don't feel put-out by doing their job. Raise your standards. Located in the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel, this 24/7 eatery serves a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Visited for breakfast without reservations and had no problems getting a table for 4 right away. Specifically came for the Mochi pancakes which were rated highly on reviews, which didn't disappoint.  The pancakes were fluffy and thick, with a great nutty flavor.  Also, has the 3-egg Omlette and the Island Breakfast.  The omlette was a fairly small portion for 3 eggs and the potatoes seem a bit pre-cooked, however the Island Breakfast look better with the fresh eggs, bacon and fruit. Side order of Portuguese sausage had only 5 slices which seem a bit overpriced.   Overall, a nice place for a quick place for food, and some great mochi pancakes.  One order is plenty for single person who wants leftovers,  or 2 people to share. Staying at the Hilton and I get $36 per day food credit. First day the young and wifey wanted breakfast so we tried this place. I had pancakes and eggs. Both were good. Young one had eggs and tons of bacon since she ordered bacon and I gave her my bacon since I am a vegetarian. It was baconfabolicous. You can never have enough bacon. Wifey had avocado toast which she thought was just ok. They have a pancake challenge to eat 5 pounds of pancakes in 90 minutes. I really want to do it but wifey and young one think I will get sick and ruin a day of vacay. Our waiter was super nice. Service speed was ok. This spot was the place back then. When it was open 24hrs. Food was excellent, service was great. This place hasn't been the same since.

Ordered the Plantation ice tea and Loco Moco as well as the club sandwich. Ice tea and pineapple juice (Plantation tea) is definitely something I'll start making back home. The perfect blend to make a really nice refreshing drink. Now the Loco Moco....is as good as it looks. The gravy was perfectly seasoned as well as the patty of beef. The eggs were over medium and with that steamed white rice, it's a meal that you don't want to miss. My wife ordered the club sandwich and the fries were beyond overwhelming in portion in a good way. My dad, brother, brother's friend, my cousin, hubby, daughter and myself came here for brunch. They served breakfast items. The nice waitress served us iced waters which I was fine with. I decided to get the MAC attach which included three mini pancakes, two sausages, two bacon, eggs (I got mine scrambled this time), and potatoes. This was so filling. I enjoyed my pancakes with syrup. Hubby asked for haupia syrup which they had and I got to try it on my last part of my pancakes. It was super sweet but good. You have to ask for this upon request. Definitely worth trying. Service was excellent by our waitress. She checked up on us a couple of times. Before you get seated, your party must be present. They don't take reservations so keep that in mind. I ended up waiting for my party which wasn't too bad because we got seated right away. Dinner in Waikiki... In general, local people don't want to go to Waikiki because of the traffic, parking situation, and the crowds... It's kind of like Hollywood... like touristy ...haha! So, why did we have dinner at M.A.C. 24/7??? 1. There was a 20 percent off coupon in the newspaper 2. Our friends from Texas were staying in Waikiki 3. The valet parking is just $3. It will be added to your bill. Okay... it's somewhat less painful... lol! Melanie, the manager, was so sweet. One of our friends wasn't able to attend, so she reassured her (over the phone) that the reservation would be taken care of. Todd was our entertaining server...he had some funny jokes and a few "demonstrations"... you need to see it yourself! This restaurant (located in The Prince Kuhio Hotel) accommodated our large party well. We got a private room (how did they know we'd be so noisy?) and Todd offered to give us separate checks! He didn't want us struggling over monetary calculations! So thoughtful! Most of us ordered the Thursday Prime Rib Special ...it was tender and juicy! The mashed potatoes were real...I could feel tiny bits of potatoes! The grilled veggies were seasoned well! Yum yum! I also shared a M.A.C.-cano Eruption drink with my friend, Aimee. It's enough for two people! It's a flaming rum-based beverage that was quite good! Hee hee! Overall, we had a super fun time. The food, service, and ambiance were superior! The last time I was here was 3 years ago! Time for an update! M.A.C. = Modern American Cuisine 24/7 = Open 24 hours, 7 days a week, in Waikiki The restaurant is famously known for its M.A.C. Daddy Pancake Challenge, which is consuming a pile of three 14″ buttermilk pancakes (5 lbs) in 90 minutes or less to secure a spot on the "M.A.C. Daddy Wall of Fame." As of last night, the latest winner was #108 back in September 2018! Unfortunately, pancakes weren't the reason for my latest visit (maybe next time?!). Instead, a group of us met up with friends visiting from Houston, TX, and found ourselves seated in the large private dining room. Sweet! Since it was Aloha Thursday, the special of the night was Prime Rib served with vegetables, mashed potatoes, and au jus for $28. Majority of our party decided on this and from what I heard, it was delicious and satisfying, especially after coming from a serious hike on Koko Crater! I decided on the Kalbi Steak Salad, a side of Mac & Cheese (M&C), and a glass of Sangria. I must admit that I was actually craving for the Lobster M&C Benedict, but the word on the street was that it was "meh." The Salad was satisfying, which was prepared with marinated boneless short ribs, local greens, thai basil, mint, fresh cut tomato, papaya, avocado, crushed peanuts, fried shallots, cucumber, cilantro, sesame seed, and tossed in Thai lime vinaigrette. Mmm. So good! Combine that with a bite of M&C here and there, and wash it all down with a refreshing glass of Sangria - onolicious!! Now, the highlight of our dinner was actually the service provided by our fantastic waiter, Todd! Not only was he prompt, courteous, and informative, he was a man of comedy! The restaurant is lucky to have him! Located at the Hilton Waikiki Beach, parking is available through their Valet off of Kuhio Ave. Let them know you're dining at M.A.C. so they can give you a ticket to validate at the restaurant. I honestly don't understand all the good reviews on here because honestly every time I eat here their food is always so bland. We went here last night because we were staying upstairs at their hotel. Just for a little staycation. When we got there we were seated after maybe 20 mins of waiting. Or waitress was not a good waitress. I am unsure of her name but I think her tag said Connie. Anyways. She didn't come by to check on us. We literally had to flag down the HOST to ask for something because our waitress simply DID NOT pay attention to us. She was too busy giving all of her attention to these 2 other tables. Terrible! Won't be coming here again. Smh. read more
