Super Honest review here. First off the food was Great! My be wife and I had the mussels for the appetizer. For our mains I had the salmon and my wife had the mushroom pasta both dishes were fantastic the salmon was definitely the winner cooked perfectly really really well done and everybody's probably wondering why the two stars well the service was extremely lacking for such a cute bistro. The staff was completely checked out even though we came in at 8:20 and there is still plenty of people in that restaurant in the restaurant does close at 9:00. We were kind of let known and more ways than one that they were ready to go home. And when your server asks to be reminded about the anchovies on the side blew my mind!! this is your job if you ask for anchovies on the side for your Caesar salad you write it down not ask your customers please remind me to bring those out to you. And guess what she did forget 100% in the outgoing bartender we had to ask him to bring the anchovies on the side. We really think that our waitress was high because when she brought out the salads she goes "oh my God what salad did you order which one is yours?" Whoever the owner is of this restaurant take note go to Ruth's Chris steakhouse for a very large chain restaurant they have their service to dailed in. it's impeccable it's the same every time and the food is incredibly outstanding same with mulvaney's that's Is downtown Sacramento take note on how these people serve customers. Fine dining is supposed to be an experience not a Applebee's experience. The servers were talking candidly on the floor with each other also on top of that no one asked us how our food was at all they never checked in with us luckily the food was really good. Please please please remember the owner is it's time to put your wait staff through training super lacking and it makes the experience not want to come back and your food is very good but when your service sucks customers don't come back and word of mouth is devastating to a business so fix it. read more

So, the food was just OK. The server was nice but very, very talkative & not in the best way. He described how they make the soup & the description wasn't very appetizing. He basically said something to the effect of "we just throw whatever we have in there & hope it tastes good". I was like. Ummm, that's not how you make clam chowder, unfortunately we had already ordered the clam chowder. Wife & I went here Monday July 24. We seen positive reviews here and the menu sounded enticing. Went downhill from there. They seemed a bit busy and understaffed. Service was positive and friendly, but lacking in attentiveness. My wife ordered the soup of the day which was vegetable, all the vegetables were from cans. Not too good. I had the chowder, was like water-horrible. I had them take it back. Entrees we had were: Chilean encrusted salmon, kinda a joke actually. Was regular plain old farm raised salmon, had like some sweet glaze on it, that's it. No flavor. Super run of the mill. BTW- they charge $26 for that. Wife had the eggplant dish, plain Jane there too. Regular spaghetti noodles and what tasted like jar sauce. This place is trying to establish themselves as fine dining in Tracy. Especially based on the prices on their menu. I'm afraid they are completely missing the mark on the fine dining. Way overpriced for what you get, average at best. No doubt we will not return here. Don't recommend. Too many other better options in town to settle for this. read more

I wanted to love this place but I just can't. The food quality was bad, poorly prepared, canned Costco products. Clam chowder was watery, tasted like a can of condensed clam chowder with added canned clams. Rough chop on the vegetables included in the broth. We had the "Fried ---Chicken Sandwich Bistro Style" for $11.00 It was a listed as "Chicken breast topped with bacon, avocado, tomato and red onions served on a Baguette; if its fried, ask for Tabasco...yum" The chicken breast was thin as paper, tasteless but fried to perfection. Bacon was cold and pre cooked, red onions were either non existent or they could have been the soggy canned substance on the avocado. The tomato's were scarce and just the ends (should not have been served) the baguette was a Costco sandwich roll. The entire thing had no flavor except for the Tabasco sauce which is a must!!! The salad was spring mix, with canned, soggy, sliced black olives and canned, soggy red peppers. Not even edible. read more

We had a delightful lunch of tenderloin sliders on baguette, with salad and fries. Everything was delicious. The place was crowded with three large tables of office workers, but we were well taken care of. Did not sample their beers and wines but it's clear the owners care about quality offerings. We are not in Tracy often but when we are, we will head for M & J. Forget the nondescript shopping center locale; it is clear M & J cares about what they offer. read more

I revisited this wonderful restaurant again recently and they were consistent with their amazing customer service and provided a great experience just as wonderful as the last. You can just tell the staff really enjoy working at this establishment and they are generally happy to serve you. I was late to my reservation and they still accommodated me which I really appreciated. The food is wonderful and really well prepared and presented. The desert crepes are to DIE FOR!! I would come back just for a desert course! Overall this restaurant is a wonderful place to eat and provides a great atmosphere to enjoy a well cooked meal. read more

First let me say im sure They have other dishes that were better, but let me give an evaluation on what I did have as well as the experience. We got there and had reservations for 2 at 7PM. the place was pretty empty and they put us by the window at a huge table built for like 8 people. It was over 100 degrees outside so sitting by the door just made it uncomfortable because no cool air was circulating there. We started with the Chile Shrimp appetizers. Now, its described as a sweet and spicy sauce, well There was no spice and I could taste a very prevalent sort of Marmalade. Way too sweet and gloppy. after just 1 bite of the Shrimp, The Salads came. I would prefer the salads come after the appetizers. But nothing you can do there, cant send the salads back.. I ordered the Chicken Axoa. First off, it was so HOT (not spicy, but temp hot) It was not edible for 15 minutes after I received it! my son was done with his dinner before I could even get into mine.. I am not even exaggerating. So as my son was finished. The Waitress came by to check on us, I told her my meal was so hot I cant even eat it yet. She said "do you want a box" Which I thought was quite rude. By this time I feel like I have had a hot towel treatment on my face from the steam and how hot it was sitting by the window. secondly Its described as "Breast of chicken and sausage links stewed in roasted red bell peppers, onions and herbs over rice served with garlic crostinis" So I was expecting bold hearty flavors. Instead it had a sweet flavor which was not to my liking. And the links were also sorta like apple flavored or something. So I just got a box, chalked this one up as a loss and went home disappointed. . The only reason we did not give it 1 star was because my sons meal was good he said and it had no issues. He ordered the Ravioli with Lobster and Shrimp. So due to the service, and the taste of 2 out of 3 dishes, it gets 2 stars and I may not return. read more

Wonderful! Amazing! Spectacular! There aren't enough words in any dictionary to describe my experience here! Firstly, before you even sit down the servers are super welcoming and high energy! A fantastic change of energy from other places that seem to act snooty for seemingly no reason. Then you have the general service. Very personable, very attentive, and they have fantastic suggestions if you can't make up your mind! The also don't hover, which I really appreciate. The food. Oh, the food! Perfection incarnate! The blue cheese crisps are necessary. Some bites are light and crunchy, some are soft, but regardless are phenomenal. The three of us had completely different dishes. My gal friend had the lobster and filet mignon, the filet perfectly rare and the lobster was to die for. My guy friend had the eggplant neapolitan. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to cook eggplant??? It was absolutely amazing! I had the, oh so creatively named 'Mary's Wrack of Lamb', and it was absolutely delicious! 10/10, highly recommended this place! Oh, and the chef himself was so wonderful! He was the one who brought our main dishes to the table. This is, without a doubt, one of the best places I have ever been to! read more

The best food and service we have ever had in Tracy hands down!! So disappointed that we have lived in Tracy for 15 years and just found out about this place today. We loved everything we ordered from the Chile Shrimp to the Empanadas to the Filet Bites and Fish Tacos. Even the Salad was great and their dressings are awesome. Do not be scared by the Prices, the food is Top Quality as good as any high end restaurant in SF. This is definitely our NEW favorite spot and a Diamond in Tracy.... if only they could move downtown or by Raleys they would be packed all day... Service was great, staff is quick and attentive and great to interact with. Must visit!! read more

Thank goodness they were open for Mother's day even when they are normally closed Sunday! Our party had the Rib eye steak, the Portobello pasta, and their Signature burger, so a wide array on the menu...and we were all quite impressed with our entrees. I personally think it was the best pasta dish I have ever had! We also stayed for dessert and were very happy with that as well! Definitely planning on returning, even though we don't live in Tracy! This is a great restaurant with really good food and a very attentive wait staff. The chief personally visits his customers! We went on a Tuesday not too busy. The French dip was tasty, light smoke, the bread could have been warmer.. for the price of $13 it included the house salad which we both loved & yummy chips with cheese and chives. I am so disappointed at my experience at this restaurant. I made reservations there for my 20th wedding anniversary. That is a pretty big deal. They were aware from the moment we walked in. They were nice enough to congratulate us, but I couldn't believe that they didn't even offer us a complimentary glass of champagne, not even a cupcake. I didn't expect a free meal, but in every restaurant you go in, if you tell them that it's your birthday, they least sing to you and bring you a piece of cake. I left there feeling very bad. It even put a small damper on the evening. Plus, we spent a pretty penny. The food was good. I just wouldn't suggest that you go there for a special occasion. read more

The staff was slow and unresponsive, as we waited to be acknowledged for more than ten minutes, another 10 just to sit at an open table. The owner who also cooks should really take some time to come out of the kitchen to hear what the guests are saying, we were not the only ones upset with the service, the waitress delivered the wrong food to the wrong table, and complained about the Fettucini alfredo was just not good today. The food we had was good and reasonable price!! but so are a lot of other restaurants with better service. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. The food was fresh,flavorful and delicious. Although it was to go when I arrived home and placed the food on the table I felt like I was fine dining at a restaurant. The appetizers were incredible! Blueberry meatballs? Delicious! Had the prime rib bites on puff pastry, out of this world. Super tender, delicious and satisfying. Then had the clam chowder, excellent flavor with big chunks of clam. Finally had the ribeye and mashed potatoes. Potato's were obviously homemade because they had that flavor and consistency that you can't get from a box, which is impressive. Steak was cooked perfectly. Would recommend for anyone wanting a hidden gem of a restaurant, with great flavor and reasonable prices. read more

We went there last night for my fiancé's birthday; HUGE MISTAKE!! Had been there about 3 years ago, and enjoyed the food, however there was a very annoying waiter who had a very loud voice, trying to be Mr. personality... Fast forward 3 years later, we both order the same thing we had last time, because back then it was really good. So much has changed with the food, prime rib bites came on over baked puff pastry with a few shreds of grey shoe leather strings of meat, they were trying to pass off as "prime rib bites"! Unfortunately the one thing that hasn't changed was loud mouthed Brian, talking at the top of his lungs the entire time we were there. The wait for our food was interminable, at least 45 minutes of listening to the never ending Brian, who pictures himself a gourmand, which couldn't be further from the reality! We ate as quickly as we could to get out of there, nerves frayed, my jaw sore from trying to chew those grey shreds of meat! Save yourself a LOT of money and irritation by going elsewhere. We would have been better off going to Jack in the Box, which is in the same parking lot! read more

Service is excellent. The waiters and waitresses really try to make sure you're happy, and when we asked about the free appetizer w/ check-in, they immediately knew what we were taking about. I wanted sub the house salad that came w/ my entree for the soup of the day (soup du jour), and they were happy to oblige for no extra charge. And the soup was tasty, very flavorful! I had the mushroom fettuccine. I could really taste the mushroom in it (real slices, not the diced in sauce crap other restaurants try to get away with). Pasta also tasted fresh. Food took awhile to get to our table, though. The chips appetizer w/ Bleu cheese was delicious as well. Will definitely return to try other things on their small but concise menu. :) read more

On Friday October 2nd I arrived at the restaurant and was left waiting at the door for more than 10 minutes without being noticed by two waitresses and 3 waiters there was no Maitre D taking reservations for seating. I had been a regular customer of the restuarant and have on every visit tipped well. I also during the Covid 19 issue been thier only customer. After being ignored for a considerable period I politely asked a waiter what the issue was. Instead of taking my name for seating the waiter proceeded to physically threaten me. For ask why I had been ignored for a considerable period. I definitely was in fear for my life from that waiter. I am a small 62 year old man that the waiter felt should be intimidated for asking a polite question. read more

The website shows a pretty cool Happy Hour Menu. Unfortunately, it doesn't exist. The first thing I noticed was the filthy menus. Ordered the steak bite appetizer. The meat was flavorless and the texture was like it was boiled. Waited an unreasonable amount of time for the entrees. Eventually just paid up and took our food to go because we were tired of waiting and our server never checked back to see if we needed more drinks. Avoid this place. There is plenty more to choose from in this town. read more
