We found out the local story of the name of M.R. Ducks and also enjoyed a sample of this restaurant in an Ocean City foodie tour. Our sample was so good we went back the next day! It did not disappoint (except that they were out of the crab cake sandwich.) Blackened Mahi fish tacos were filling and delicious as was the Buffleburger. They told us we had to wait and after 30 minutes, we asked what the deal is, they told us they had no idea how long it would take. Another 30 minutes go by and we asked the same question. Now the answer is completely different. There's only 1 table available to us and we're the fourth in line. we wasted more than an hour and a half waiting for this place for them to tell us the simple answer that they could've told us 30 minutes in. Another one for the books - part of the tour for the Jimmy Litz 2019 on a Friday after happy hour for some liquid in which I nearly caved at the bar - great food, great service. We stopped by at M.R. Ducks after taking a a boat ride on Assateague Adventure. I stopped here with my family after the boat ride, everyone was starving. The food here was good enough to satisfy everyone's hunger, with great service and drinks. Below is a more detailed description of my visit. Service 5/5- Service here was amazing. We were seated almost immediately and the server was very attentive to our table and constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Drinks 4/5- I ordered the orange crush, my sister ordered a tropical mango drink and my dad got a beer. These were all pretty standard and matched our expectations. Food 4/5 - I didn't have too many expectations on the quality of the food, we mostly stopped here because it was very close to the dock. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the black bean avocado wrap, it was filled with loads of flavor and definitely satisfied my hunger. My dad and sister got the grilled chicken sandwich and they weren't huge fans. They described the sandwich as a little bland. If you do end up getting the sandwich, I'd recommend getting some ranch and hot sauce on the side. read more

I searched for a dog friendly place for lunch today and this one came up first. We wanted to try it, but when we arrived with our dog we were told "no dogs allowed" very disappointing. Angler' next door was very accommodating g and even had a doggie menu!! I recommend going there. read more

I had the best shrimp wrap in all of ocean city here it was fantastic. This restaurant has amazing bay side views and the ambiance is gorgeous and fun. I have been here many times, it WAS one of my favorite spots in OCMD. Decent food and a great food. The bar and dance floor was epicly charged and the pro fisherman and locals party like margaritaville. Wooden ducks filled with cheap beer and amaretto..That's the past.. The present..they do sit people 6 ft apart. So there is that. Long waits for a seat and a declaration of masks. Otherwise.. Good Lord is this place in need of an immediate review by the health department. It is a COVID nightmare. Adult supervision is completely lacking. Masks? Customers don't think they need them once inside. Servers who are all young and pretty...don't seem to think it needs to be over their nose. It's tough I know, None of this jibes with the Governor or MDs issues. Maybe he should visit his cash cow and come up with server friendly masks and some rules for cleanliness. Maybe just shutdown the economy until some smart people figure out a way forward. But lets put this controversial behavior aside, what a filthy nasty mess this place is. The table they sat me at was covered with fish and large pieces of discarded food. The floor..was barf level 10. Like a toddler army had tossed all their food on the floor. I wouldn't sit and demanded a passing bussboy clean it. He did, somewhat meekly get to work. He sprayed his sanitation spray and used his nasty cloth to move it around. He barely got the giant pieces of food onto the floor. Them he swept up about 20% of the crap on the floor. This is unacceptable any day any year anywhere. I looked around. Under every table was a nasty mess. What is going on here? Staffing..really? Look at he bad impression, come up with $20 more an hour. Fishermen were coming in off their boats walking barefoot in this restaraunt. The sloppy mask wearing, not cool..the nasty mess unacceptable. Just close your damn doors until you can hire a basic staff and get basic sanitation under control. My server was working her butt off but most of the others were socializing. Normally, I see that in OCMD. When you are sitting in filth eating under cooked meat watching people walk around you without a mask..it gets infuriating. When you have a request for ketchup or something missed and everyone is slap assing with their buds ignoring you..that's just a big FU. Not cool. Did all the people who own these businesses just decide to stop trying? Too busy back at their home base counting cash? This was my favorite place. Get a hose. Stop serving with tiny baskets. Fill up the napkin holders and put a receptacle on the tables with a bag in it for waste. Put down plastic under the table. Then you can pull the table hose it off and just roll up the plastic. Put stickers on the ground of the waiting area so people don't crowd. Limit kids to family tables. Clean the floor and walkways every 20 minutes. Ask people for bigger tips to cover workers ..I would have given a $30 tip on my meal as I did at other establishments this week. Instead you got less than 10. Raise prices %10..who is going to not go to MR Ducks because the price on fries went up 10%? Know your clientele.. Well-done means no pink. Sigh. This spot has really great food, but that's about where the greatness stops. In terms of covid - no one was wearing masks. We were directed to a table that hadn't been cleaned off yet, and we had to wait until it was able to be sanitized. Our server was kind, but she was only wearing a mask barely on her chin. She was also too busy socializing with friends to check on us after serving us our food - we had missed condiments and napkins while my whole table was eating finger food. Went here on a Saturday for dinner. It was a fun atmosphere and had a great view. They have a live band which was I thought was pretty cool. The service was nice as well. They IDd me once I stepped in and gave me a wristband for drinks. We got sat pretty quickly for the time we came. As for the food & drinks, I got fried rockfish tacos and my mother got the Crabcake sandwich. We also shared a crab dip. The tacos were decent. The Crabcake was good. It had big lumps of crab, which was nice, but it wasn't the best I've had. I liked the crab dip the most. However, I preferred to dip it with the bread rather than the club crackers they served it with because it became a little too salty for me. The MUST TRY there is the chug a duck! I ordered one for myself not 100% sure what I was getting myself into. Our kind waitress, suggested that the one with the twisted ice tea + deep Eddie lemon shot was the one to go with and it was so good! Joe the bartender is the man! Made us feel right at home from the minute we sat down. Told us all about the specials, the happy hour and his favorite spots in OCMD. Spent some good quality time with everyone at the bar. The views are incredible. Boats are always coming and going and give some great entertainment. I highly suggest getting down around 4:30-5:00 to get a seat at the bar and get your night started. Then head over to Spain wine bar and restaurant for dinner. Just a short walk. Review to come!!! Only thing I would say is there could have been some security there as there were two drunks at the bar that were totally out of control. But the bartender was great and she did her best. The menu is similar comfort food with M.R. Ducks twist on things! I had the Buffalohead Burger just a large 1/2 pounder with Lettuce Tomato & Onion with Cheddar Cheese & Fries it was prepared my way and was great tasting! The wife had a fried fish sandwich made with Mahi she wasn't impressed thought the breading was a little tough or chewy! I had their ice tea unsweetened I definitely won't order that again. Servers were excellent place is busy this was a quick lunch choice! Maybe a hit or miss since the Burger & Fries were good! Would never say never for eating here! I took the Assateague Adventure tour. Only $25 per person. Very nice tour with the Captain and tour guide being very engaging. They gave a good rundown of Ocean City Inlet history and some Assateague island info as well. They have some commonly seen sea creatures aboard the boat for some show and tell. Went to the bar and the bartenders ignored me for the first 10 minutes, a patron sitting at the bar tried to get their attention for me and the same result. Then the bartender had an attitude when taking my order, I was somewhat taken aback being that it wasn't that crowded and there were three of them working, I ended up leaving the bar and taking my business elsewhere. I've been there to eat on several occasions and the service is pretty slow but you take it with a grain of salt because the food is pretty good and we always visit the shop and buy souvenirs and enjoy the sunset. My husband and I love Mr. Ducks. It's tradition for us to go there every time we head down to Ocean City, MD. Everything from their drinks to to their food is really good.
