I went to order some takeout from my local Italian restaurant the other night and was told the wait would be over an hour. So instead, I called Mabella which I've gone to several times in the past. Even though it was farther and a couple more dollars, the food was ready when promised and the rigatoni Bolognese was absolutely outstanding. Wow, what can I say to review MaBella's appropriately? the amazing food, outstanding service, and beyond reasonable pricing...simply perfection! We had a larger party to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ENTIRE evening was perfect....13 guests all thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the appetizers were wonderful (Fried Calamari, cold antipasto for two (AWESOME!!!!), baked clams, and mozzarella sticks) desserts absolutely delish AND the service was awesome!!!! This was one of the absolute best nights out we have had! Everything was exceptional. Everyone was praising the restaurant and wants to return. Service was amazing , entire team was very friendly and accommodating. Went in pretty late one night about an hour before closing but thankfully that didnt affect our service. We came in for a late lunch and everything was wonderful! Drinks were lovely, service was on point, food was soooo good. We had the mussels which were cooked perfectly and not fishy, ordered the veal- so tender; eggplant rollatini tasted delicious, and the pasta was perfectly all dente. Came in on a Wednesday night. Was seated right away. Ordered the calamari appetizer, it was very good. I got the eggplant parmigiana, which I usually don't get unless I'm sure but this restaurant has good reviews. Not every place cooks it well. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs, sauce on the side since he does not like a lot of tomato sauce. The eggplant was perfect and plentiful with a side of spaghetti which did have a lot of sauce but the sauce tasted perfect, not too sweet not salty . They had tiramisu which was a nice size slice that he and I shared, just delicious. Will go again and would recommend. read more

I stumbled on this place with my sister-in-law on our way from Long Island after a miserable day of shopping at the outlets (lol) we were pleasantly surprised how much we loved this place. We were worried that we were a little underdressed by the looks of the place but it was very family oriented and after a few minutes were at ease. We were surrounded by fellow patrons with huge bowls of pasta - we knew were in the right place. We shared an order of calamari which was pretty delicious. We are not from around here but were at a funeral home down the road and I viewed restaurants nearby and this one seemed to have good reviews. Well we couldn't have been happier with the service, food and prices. We had the capellini cakes and eggplant rollatini for apps, both were delish! Our first time and it definitely won't be our last ! MaBella mule delicious. Hot antipast and the veal Marsala and also their tomato sauce are so spot on, just thinking of it again I want to go back to order more dishes. The service was impeccable and even though it was a Saturday night I didn't feel rushed although every table was full. That's very important to me. MaBella has become our local go to spot. My kids love it. The organic chicken on the menu appeals to my wife's desire for healthier ingredients while eating out, and I usually enjoy whatever fish special is on the menu. The thin crusts pizzas are a tasty way to start. The soups are always fantastic, and the service is great too. The waiters recognize my kids and have memorized their orders by now. We hope to be eating their regularly for years to come read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Commack. My family and I went here for lunch last week and had a fabulous meal. We were greeted warmly buy the husband and wife who own the restaurant. Frank and Marie. Two very warm people. Frank used to be a chef/owner of the popular Huntington italian restaurant Sal D's. Frank headed to the kitchen and Marie sat us at our table. They brought us out crispy warm italian bread and a wonderfully spiced garlic infused oil to dip in. (great way to start) We ordered the minestrone soup and the Garden salad for appetizer. The minestrone soup was terrific. The vegetables were fresh and a perfect consistency - what a great soup! The garden salad was great as well. For the main course I ordered a ceasar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the ceasar salad dressing was really good! My mother and brother both ordered the sole. (one francaise and one oreganota). Frank told us that every morning before he drives to Commack he stops at the local fish store in his hometown of Huntington to hand pick each fish he prepares that day. It shows!!!! My mother and brother said that the fish was delicious. My father order the meatball parm hero. He said the meatballs were a great consistency and really good! We had a great meal and will definitely be coming back. What a warm place, warm people and great food!!!! read more

Met a girlfriend at Mabella last night. As other reviewers said Commack is already saturated with Italian restaurants but this one is worth the trip and a different experience than the rest. When you walk in the door you instantly feel like part of the family. Warm and cozy atmosphere with perfect lighting and vibe. Sean behind the bar greets you with a warm smile and Frank the owner/chef is at hand to say hello. We ordered the calamari arrabiatta and one of the chicken dishes. Food was excellent, good flavor, good quality, good portions...and did I mention great wine? Will definitely be back! read more

Absolutely our go to restaurant in Commack. We dine here at least once a month, sometimes once a week. The food is over the top delicious, as well as consistent. Owners Frank and Maria are hospitality experts who treat all guests like family. We are grateful to have such exquisite dining within such close proximity to our home, but if we ever move MaBella would be worth the drive. I've gotten take-out from MaBella several times over the last two months. I'm usually a straight eggplant parm woman (it's delicious here!!). But I was persuaded by a friend also doing take-out to try the lobster ravioli. It was phenomenal. I have also tried, and loved, spaghetti with clam sauce and a daily special, salmon oreganata. We started with the mussels in white wine and garlic and on special, homemade burrata with olives,eggplant, greens, tomato with a balsamic drizzle and pesto over the burrata. Sooooo delicious!!!! On such a hot day, I went with the ceaser salad with grilled shrimp for my entree. Fabulous!! Hubby had the veal parm. Hugh plate,excellent sauce. All in, you must try this family owned business. Came b/c of good reviews, ordered some more basic menu items, and they really weren't good: chicken parm kids meal and arugula salad with chicken. The salad was overwhelmingly sour. Like acid reflux level - I could only lessen the acridness with the very dry chicken. The parm was more moist and i have to give one point for the sheer hugeness of their kids meal (it was normal portion, which is seriously gigantic) but it wasnt anything i'd call amazing. Quite basic. When we were asked how everything was, we were too hesitant to say because of the food waste, in environmental terms. We let it slide as an accident. May have been because we ordered things people don't commonly order. Hopefully it was an accident. read more
