This review is just based on the tiramisu drink I got which was extremely good. But this place is giving cheap. For example they add a tip automatically onto your payment and you have to remove it yourself. The matcha place from this plaza does this as well. The drink is already expensive and you order from a kiosk yourself so idk what the tip is for. They also charge you a dollar if you want to drink your drink there. Maybe that's why it's always empty inside. I think they might do better if they let people drink inside for free because it would look like a popular place and not "empty". read more

We saw that there was a Macu Tea after trying the one in Vancouver and just had to go there again. The place was empty when we first walked in but a line quickly formed after us. The place is nicely decorated and has posters of their drinks along the walls. We got the king of mango smoothie, matcha tiramisu smoothie, yakult with Passionfruit, and wintermelon with fresh milk. The king of mango smoothie is amazing like always, a must get. The yakult was good, I just don't like sipping Passionfruit seeds. This boba spot is in the plaza next to Target, it's a bit hidden but is a great place to try if you want to go somewhere new. The ambiance at Macu Tea is cozy and they have lots of seating, which was nice when we had a power outage. I saw a couple of people getting their work done there so it's a nice place to hang out. Re-writing my previous review since we thought the smoothies had no artificial sweeteners. They must have changed it since today the menu says "fixed" sweetness. We came to order the same smoothie and saw sweetening syrup get added. I asked if we could possibly have it without the added sugar and this wasn't possibility.... It would be nice if we were able to customize since it's just a matter of not adding syrup. The smoothie turned out too sweet for our liking. No complaints here! The King of Mango Smoothie is delicious! The drink is well balanced and very refreshing. After eating some Vietnamese food nearby, this was the perfect drink to end my day. I recommend mixing well. My first couple of sips were entirely pomelo and coconut milk. Since there's a lot of toppings, it's easy to just get mouthfuls of jelly, etc.... so mix well!!! For a fresh fruit drink, $7.50 is unfortunately the standard nowadays. I'm glad you can really tell they use real mango in their drinks though. Store was not packed on a holiday but we did see customers coming in and out every 10-15 minutes. Drinks came out quick even though there was only one girl being both cashier and barista. We ordered matcha tiramisu and tieguanyin oolong milktea. No adjustment for matcha tiramisu but luckily it did not come out overly sweet (I normally get 25-30% sweet at most milk tea places). Personally I didn't like the tiramisu cream on top, it just tasted like plain whip cream with some oreo powder on top. The matcha freeze is good though, strong taste of matcha and it was blended well with no ice clump. I'd recommend asking for no tiramisu cream to wholy enjoy your drink. Tieguanyin oolong milk tea was really good. Strong tea taste at 30% sweetness and no ice. Finally a good boba place is opened in this plaza (there were some other boba stores in the plaza but none of them were good to my taste). They have quite an extensive menu, from "Drinking Desserts" to their Li-Li Series (fresh fruit pulp) to their Fresh Milk Series, there's a great enough variety for everyone in your group! Since it was late, I wanted to stay away from caffeine and was impressed by their wide selection of caffeine-free drinks (many places offer zero!). I tried the Yakult Lemonade and thought it was pretty good but nothing out of this world. As it goes, parking here can be difficult so plan accordingly. Even the grapefruit had the slight bitterness and the orange was more tart than sweet. The matcha tiramisu was sweet, but not diabetes level sweetness. I was satisfied with my pick. The workers were very sweet as well. When it came close to 10pm we started heading out but they said it's okay we could sit longer if we'd like. I like fruit so if I'm in an area with a Macu Tea I'd like try them again. Maybe a mango drink which is supposedly seasonal but still seemed to be available in January.
