I love Macy's! Their customer service is great and the return policy is awesome. I don't think there's ever been anything that I haven't been able to return. I took a watch back six months after I bought it because it was getting water condensation on the face and they had no issues with replacing it. I also love that they have the Benefit brow bar here where you can walk in and get your brows waxed for $20 without an appointment. And the girls always do a great job; they don't hack up your eyebrow shape like other places do. This place has a large selection of items. When my husband and I registered with Macy's I was surprised and how much I was able to find in the store for our registry. We only registered for a couple of things online once we went through the store. They always have great sales too. read more

Macys is by far my favorite store! I usually shop at the Roseville Galleria location because it's the closest to me and it's very well organized so it's easy to shop. Plus they "usually" have great employees and management that are willing to help. I've been a Macy's card holder for 16 years (I sound so old *sigh*) because it was a requirement when I started there at 18 (I worked at the Arden Fair Macy's in Sacramento, CA as an INC Specialist and than manager) and have been shopping with Macy's ever since. I'm now a black card holder so I get coupons often and with the new Macy's wallet I love it because I don't have to worry if I forget them. Now it just asks what coupon you'd like to use during checkout. :) My favorite is when they do their shoe sale. read more

Macy's used to be good at exchanging clothing for a size that fits. I have battled with two managers who simply wont exchange 2 pairs of pants that costed me $200.00 dollars that have never been worn or washed. The manager sat and smirked while I am stuck with these pants that cannot be tailored because they way they are designed. I spend thousands of dollars a year in this store to be treated like my business does not matter. So I will not ever and I mean ever step foot in a macy's again. I shop at Nordstroms and other higher end retail and have never had a problem with exchanges and I have always been treated with respect. Most of the stuff macy's sells now a days are lower end anyways. Just wanted people to know, buyer beware. Choose a better store, with better products, and better customer service. read more

Was there this past Sunday looking in the women's department on the second floor. What a pleasure it was. Clothing was organized on racks by size and grouped by color. Nothing on the floor and no clothes crammed on the rack so tight you cannot separate one from the other. I asked the young salesperson for help finding career wear slacks and she knew what I was talking about. She set off to find me some in my size and came back with several types of slacks. One was even on sale! Unfortunately none of them looked right on me so I passed but it's so refreshing to see young sales people with good customer service skills and knowledge of the product. My wife lost her ring, we got a new one here at Macy's, long story short we found it, tried to return it and both employees said well the tag is missing so you can't return it and the ring is in impeccable condition. This Macy's gets 1 star because I like the inventory but , it takes some time to look through it all . Not a great flow . I never get asked it I need assistance. When I do get assistance I get someone like Eliza at the Estée Lauder counter . I have been buying this product for a few years now and love it but the customer service , LACKS! To say the least . Eliza failed to give me the gift that comes along with a $37 purchase . The only reason I know this is I received an email from Macy's letting me know I could receive this gift that is worthy $175. 1) They have a coffee shop. That always makes me happy. 2) Sales people are either amazing or horrible... never know what you're going to get. 3) Plus size section is pathetic. I'm a size 14, I wear both straight size and plus size. Why is the plus size section not only super tiny, but on the second floor by the home appliances and men's clothes?!? Why?!? There's also no organization in the plus department, and the sales people are very little help. I went upstairs to check out some city chic dresses (amazing, high quality and super cute plus size clothing line) and I couldn't find them anywhere. Only some random ones on clearance. However, online they show dozens of dresses available in store. Where are they?? Store employee says " no idea". Are they hidden in the back? I had to order 2 dresses online in different sizes (which was showing 3 or 4 available in store for each size) in order to get it 4 hours later. I was literally in the store ordering it online, which they told me to do on my phone. Like, wtf. Once I picked them up at the online pickup counter, I then tried them on and had to return one. This was stupid. The dress was cute though, and perfect for a wedding tomorrow. The organization here must be atrocious. Why can the customer service people find it for an online order, but the sales people can't find it when I'm trying to try it on? read more

Yesterday I called Macy's and ask for a personal shopper. I'm a type a guy that cannot make choices and need some extra help. I left a message to have someone call me back in right away Moka called me back to set up an appointment today at 10:30am. I arrived a little early but I was able to meet with Moka right away. He was so helpful and never pushy to try and get me something I did not need. Moka had a since of humor and ID me as captain the whole time as my kids were laughing. Moka gave exceptional service and I plan on using him again. read more

The people that work down there are less friendly and it is hard to find a manager to help should you have a problem. Very rude employee named Hans i believe, he worked in the shoe aisle downstairs . I understand working in retail where customers have to wait a long time.. I waited a long time and I didn't mind at all! But this guys tone was so mean.. whenever we asked him to help instead of going to the back to check on stock for us he kept helping other people or just standing there .. I didn't mind that either but he was mean to us from the start.. when my wife asked him for a shoe size he started to make fun of her and argued that he already checked that so I had to let him know that he didn't check that item in the back. So once he agreed to go to the back to check inventory he actually never did and started to help out others and also stood there with his coworkers at one point. So we asked another employee to help us instead and this guy ran to him and said that he's helping us .. I told Hans that instead of helping us he was either being rude or standing there or going to other people . This guy created a scene so I told him to do his job and bring the shoes instead of arguing with me. Terrible customer service from this guy.. if this guy is the manager then I don't know how he became one with his bad and stuck up attitude. Doesn't even know how to treat customers . I went to theSunglass Hut in Macys at the Roseville Galleria looking to buy Burberry Glasses. They did not have what I was looking for so the girl at the counter suggested looking online which I did. Before leaving the store she confirmed it would be no problem to return the glasses if I did not like them. I went home found the glasses online made my purchase waited 9 days for my glasses, when I finally received the item it was not what I ordered. I was very disappointed and Immediately took them to the store to ask for an exchange so I could have what I ordered. The manager stated it was an accountability issue and I was going to have to return them myself. I do not understand why should could not do the return for me with the reason code wrong item sent just as I had to do. I will never have order from Macys again and I did not appreciate the lack of customer service received. read more

I will NEVER buy a watch here again! I bought a watch that was $155 6 months ago. My boyfriend doesn't wear it that often, and it quickly lost a pin which made it unwearable. I brought it back with all of its tags, the box, and original receipt to see about an exchange, but the sales lady said they would repair it. It took about 2 months to get it back after they said it could be fixed within 3 weeks. Upon picking it up, I was charged $56 for the repairs. To fix a "barely worn" 6 month old watch that was falling apart after wearing it only a few times, it cost me 1/3 the price of the watch to get it fixed. I didn't get upset at the very nice lady that explained the new charge to me, but I will take my business to other places. I know $155 isn't much for a "nice" watch, but this was my budget. read more

The saying is very true. You get what you pay for. We bought a sectional from Macy's after another store was unable to keep their order on-time. We spent a bit more than our original purchase elsewhere but it was worth it. Our sales guy, Gary, did not pressure me in any way. The delivery was amazing. My daughter, mother and I visited here looking for a Prom dress for my daughter's senior prom. They have a huge range of dresses, all displayed by color and all reasonably priced. My daughter had found "the dress" at another store but they didn't have her size, so she was thrilled when we found the same dress here in the perfect size. The price of the dress was more than the other store but the lady that helped us at the register gave us some extra discount and the dress came out cheaper than the other store's price. I would recommend Macy's prom department to anyone for pure choice and price. read more

So I drove out to Roseville because I needed new maternity clothes and wanted to avoid Citrus Heights location at all costs. Ya no they don't have Motherhood Maternity at this location. Major bummer! I had to wander around for quite some time to find an employee to tell me this. I decided to buy a new bra instead since I was here and had a gift card. No one was to be found in the lingerie section. I found something I liked and searched for an open register. Once I did though, the lady said her register wasn't on yet so I needed to go somewhere else. The line for the only open one on the upper level was crazy. I've never been a huge fan of Macy's, but when you have a gift card, why not get excited right? Needless to say, unless I get another gift card, I'll stick to my proven places. read more

DO NOT GET MACY's CREDIT CARD! Their service is awful to say the least! Majority of Macy's call center is out sourced to INDIA! The call center have the nerve to ask for my social security as If i'm stupid enough to release it to INDIA. Many times I have great difficulty understanding them. Then I was penalized for late fees after Macy's made me paid the same amount TWICE! I was so frustrated I end up closing my account. Took Macy months and many phone calls to give me a full refund. It is so frustrating to have to walk to different departments to try and find someone. Why am I having to hunt someone down to buy something?? I have enjoyed my shopping experiences at Macy's in person but be FOREWARNED, if you order on line, be prepared for frustration if you need help! I had gone on line to place an order only because the item I wanted was no longer available in the stores. The website stated that I would receive free shipping if I spent $99 or more and the particular item was $99 but I was not given free shipping. I spent almost an hour trying to locate a phone number (there is even a "contact us" to click on" but no phone number was shown anywhere). All that happened was I kept getting a list of questions/issues and redirected and redirected. I order a lot on line and had never seen this (where no phone number was provided), very surprising especially with a company like Macy's. The next day I called the local Macy's to get the 800 number and they didn't even know why none was provided on the website. I then called the number and spent, no kidding, an hour trying to order ONE ITEM. I was first told I qualified for a 20% discount, then told the purchase didn't qualify. I was then told I qualified for a 15% discount as a new customer and then told, well actually not because I didn't have an on line profile. I asked the agent if I created an on line profile, would I qualify and I was told ABSOLUTELY YES. I then created one (even though I didn't want to) and then I was told I had to wait for a confirmation email to get the 15%. I then got the email but then I was told it would be reflected "on the statement." I told the agent I didn't know what she was talking about as I didn't have a Macy's card and she made no sense what so ever and changed her story several times and it was obvious she didn't know what the heck she was talking about. I then told her there was obviously a miscommunication problem and I told her I needed to speak to someone else and asked her where she was located and she HUNG UP ON ME. When I called back I spoke to another agent who told me they were located in the Philippines! So Macy's is providing people from the Philippines with jobs when unemployment in America is at an all time record high! I spoke to a "supervisor" who apologized and claimed that they would give me a discount on my credit card, but I'm not holding my breath, and neither will I ever order from them on line again! read more

Went to Macy's to find a suit for my wedding, I had no idea what I was doing. I have a stellar "best man" but I need something more. I was approached by a gentleman by the name of Moka and he asked me what I was there for.... By the end of it, he had almost literally held my hand through the whole process and based on the colors I liked, he schooled me. I have never been so educated by someone in a store, not only that, his customer service is beyond any I have ever experienced. I always thought that I had pretty good customer appreciation, nope... I just want to Thank Michael, merchandiser, in sporting.. I'm not sure what department , it was first floor where all the Calvin Klein brand is. Michael went out of his way last night. My mom and I came in on Thanksgiving evening , we were looking for shoes but it was so messy and disorganized in that department that we decided to go look at departments that were less crowded. We were looking at some Calvin Klein leggings and the last pair was on a manikin so, Michael took them off for me and I got em!!! :) Michael was so professional and he had a unique way of showing me more clothing that I ended up loving and getting!!! He mentioned that he is a seasonal employee.. well, I really hope he stays!!! This was the best service we have had in years at a Roseville Galleria Macy's! Thank you Michael!! You are the best! I had to return an inexpensive ring the other day, just did not feel right after wearing it for about week and a half and it was a bit large. Sad, that when you make a return you don't get treated as a customer at all, but just as a person who's getting their monies back. Well, I was going to shop longer there, and probably would end up spending more on my Macy's credit card, but had no desire to do so after the fact. Sales associates there really need to learn to respect every customer whether they're buying or returning items to their store. I am done with Macys. The stores look trashy and are overstocked with crappy merchandise and all the better clothing is online only. Then they charge you shipping. Really good customer service is non existent and the cosmetic dept is full of attitude. The only depth that is stocked quite well is handbags and Coach. This company is in trouble and closing stores. They need to take a hard look at Nordstrom and their customer service and shipping as well as the online services. If you don't carry it in your store you should not expect your customers to pay shipping. There really needs to be an updated vision for Macys. I have been a valuable customer and spent a lot of money at Macys but recently paid my account and closed my card and now I will not shop there anymore. read more

Don't get a Macy's card! I was talked into a card last Christmas. After two months I called Macy's to find out why hadn't received a statement. They asked for my social security number and could not find my account. Two months later I applied for a loan. My credit report showed a 90 day late for non payment. To drop my credit score down to 650 and a delayed my house closing by three weeks. No apologies from Macy's just delay after delay before getting my credit cleaned up. What was most surprising is as I shared the story I heard something like that happened to me to at Macy's. I've requested twice to have the account closed and they don't seem to get around to it.
