Worst overseas customer service ever! I ordered items on a wedding registry. One of the items, pyrex dishes, was delivered broken. The shipper sent it back. Macy's made me buy another set and said they would refund me for the broken set after having sent a new set and a gift card to the wedding party recipient! So embarrassing and such a hassle for the recipient and for me. I spent another 2 hours, not even kidding, trying to get a refund. Unbelievable! Was refused a refund saying it was over 30 days! wtf??? Then after further yelling on my part, yep I am over it! They finally said they would issue a refund to my card and cancel the gift card. They actually asked me for the gift card number! Seriously?? I am not asking the bride and groom to give me the gift card number. So ignorant on Macy's part. I will NEVER shop there online again. EVER!!! Really not even banking on ever seeing a refund. I will likely have to go into the store in order to try to get a refund. Super unnecessary waste of my time and everyone elses. This location has the most foul, rude employees I've ever had to deal with in my adult life. From being stalked near any entrance by someone 'asking if I need help' repeatedly to straight up refusal to check me out when an item I had didn't have the correct tag, I've never felt so violated by a store. I had the worst encounter today with my mother in law & step son on the 3rd floor, womens department [dresses]. The cashiers name is Kimmy, she was incredibly rude and was even expressing herself about how long her day was. I totally understand about working in retail, I've been there years ago but, we were checking out around 8pm and it was not busy at this time. My mother in law went to purchase the dress as kimmy was the one assisting. The dress had slight damage around the bottom zipper part and we asked to see if we could get a discount, being that this is the last dress in her size. Kimmy replies "were you the one who made this?" She already had a bad attitude just by approaching her at the cash register! Then, kimmy says "she doesn't know how to discount it, go to another register!" My mother in law asks of she can call a manager or anyone to assist, and the girl says "no, everyone is busy or on break!" So my mother in law just paid it. I was upset and we went to another register, and kimmy so happens to have migrated there and was with lelah, another worker. Lelah at least knew what she was doing & had kimmy return the dress and properly showed her what to do.. wth? Kimmy then gives us attitude and a freakin lecture on how her day has been long, be kind to her since its been a long day and said she isnt rude, that is her normal tone. I dont give a damn, but dont go off on us and vent your problems. You just made more work doe yourself and didnt even call or try to find a solution. She complained about her job to customers. The worse experience ever. Im calling managment and updating this review as much as possible until she gets proper training on customer service. read more

Update : 5/5/17 Online pickup from this location is a huge pain , associates dont really care for you , i stood 5 feets away from fine jewerly associates staring at her but she was too busy selling diamond ring to a couple oh by the way i was standing by the diamond shelf but maybe i dont look rich enough to her !! , there is no signs for pickup the only sign is on top of the cashier it self but hey good luck searching 3 floors for that cashier , i dont like macys and i never shop here but this is 3rd time when i had to pickup some items for my family and in all 3 times its pain & careless associates , finally a nice guy named james came from the backrooms and helped me out . I debated giving this pace two stars. The service was terrible. There were only two people staffing the entire jewelry and watch counter and one employee straight up walked away without a reason and didn't come back. When I did finally get service the woman couldn't find a box of the item I bought. Their inventory was disorganized and messy. I ended up going to get dinner so she could find the box before I returned. That said the prices were low and it was worth the utter chaos for the product. On a Friday night I would expect adequate staffing and would encourage the management to better staff their store. Shop here at your own risk. It is a sad sad Macy's in a high end mall. But beware, you will most definitely get an extreme arm workout from spreading those racks of clothes apart, looking for the best piece of clothing at a fraction of the price. I like Macy's because they have good quality clothes, and they have tons of brands to choose from. Some brands you may recognize includes Nike, Free People, INC, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Levis, and much more! There's tons of brand that I don't know either but still good quality. Following surgery, I needed new lenses in my sports goggles and went to Lenscrafters in Macy's (My first and last experience with Lenscrafters). I thought they would be quick and I wanted to get back on the court as soon as I was cleared by the doctor. After almost 2 weeks, I called to see when my glasses would be finished. The salesman said, "Do you want the good news or the bad news?" He proceeded to tell me the lab was unable to work on my glasses. I asked why nobody notified me and why I was just finding out two weeks after dropping them off. I did not get much of an answer, nor could anyone tell me when my frames would be returned to the store so I could pick them up and take them somewhere else. Again no real answer. (So what was the good news?) I went to another optical dealer and ordered new glasses so I could get back on the court while my frames were being located and returned. When I called Lenscrafters to follow up with a manager, she said my glasses were done and would be in the following Monday (WTF?). She was unable to explain why the salesman told me what he did or why. She claimed to know nothing about the mix-up. A note to Macys- MACYS- just want you to know about this. When you bring these companies into you store, you take ownership of their behavior and it reflects poorly on your store when they under perform. read more

I love shopping at Macy's. They have lots of nice stuff. I normally shop for makeup, shoes and bags here. Clothing here is cute but a tad too pricey for me. They had shoes on sale which I got to try on a few pairs. I love me a good pair of cute heels and flats. There were plenty of guys on the floor to help you get the size you need. I ended up browsing. I also managed to walk around and check out the clothing and the kids clothing for my daughter. Sometimes you can find a good deal on stuff if you look hard enough. While I was in town for YSB SD '16, I needed to pick up a few pieces I hadn't packed to complete a couple outfits for a pair of the events. On the shopping list: black Converse All-stars, plain white t-shirts, & a black blazer. 1 mall, 2 stores*. To get that stuff, I checked out the JCPenney & Macy's in Fashion Valley Mall. What I suspected going in was that the Converse All-stars & white t-shirts would be better to get at JCPenney & the black blazer would be better to get at Macy's. & that's pretty much how it panned out. Both stores had all 3 items. But, compared to Macy's, the Converse All-stars & white t-shirts were less $$ at JCPenney. While the Kenneth Cole black blazer I found at Macy's was nicer for not much more $$ than JCPenney. Customer service at JCPenney was largely nonexistent & the checkout line was slow. Over at Macy's, I was greeted upon entering the store, help was around for any questions & checkout was quick. Both stores worked out OK. JCPenney was cheaper but Macy's had better service. * Making this a comparo. So that means I'm going to cheese out & post the same review for both stores. read more

First time at the benefit eyebrow bar omg I love Andrea she's the best beauty guru/benefit beauty artist that waxed my eyebrows ! Eyebrows on fleek !!!! she uses the "benefit " brand of course to fill in my brows after waxed. Overall I'm so happy with the services way better than the Anastasia brow salon at Nordstrom. Macy's here is pretty cool they also have a live DJ at the cosmetics area. I already made an appointment for my next eyebrow & lip wax! Highly recommended. As I am writing this review I am still on hold and have been on hold for 25 mins now. I initially called to make sure my shoes were still on hold so that I could come in and pick them up on my lunch. The first call (around opening time) I got put on hold, and they just left the phone on the counter and I could hear them talking the whole time and also I waited for 12 mins before hanging up and calling again. The second time I called which was about an hour later they told me that they were too busy to check on my hold and asked if I could call back in an hour. So now I'm on my 3rd phone call and I have now been on hold for 29 mins. What the fuck!!! Now I'm mad. And I just am wondering....how do they not see that someone is on hold for this long and also I this is becoming a game. Get it the fuck together and learn some customer service. read more

It's easy to want to give Macy's low marks because it is not as renovated or organized as the other department stores at Fashion like Neiman, Bloomingdales & Nordies......but the deals I have gotten here are unmatched! I won't shop here without a coupon, which is fine because they literally find every way possible to give you a discount. Any semi holiday, your birthday, one day sales that always last at least 2 days. I sometimes wonder how they make money. Service can get a little tricky. Some departments will be outstanding, while others will be less helpful. But I'm the kind of shopper that doesn't like an associate hovered over me at all times, so it works out. If I want help... I'll ask. Lastly, the store has made a lot of aesthetic improvements over the past few months as well and although it gets a bit confusing when clothes and departments are changed around, there is usually a rhyme and reason to positively affect the shopper experience. read more

I came into this Macy's after visiting one that was dreadfully smaller and had absolutely nothing I was looking for. When I walked into this location, I immediately sighed with relief because I knew that they would have the selection of items I was familiar with rather than none at all. I needed some shoes for an event that I was attending later that evening and when I saw the shoe section here I just wanted to shout praises! This location in San Diego is similar to the Perimeter location in Atlanta. Large enough but not too large and has just about everything you needed. They had the buy more, save more shoe sale that I have been familiar with but seeing as though I was traveling I couldn't buy 3 pairs of shoes. Luckily they had their VIP sale going on so I got 20% off shoes I wouldn't have normally gotten a discount on. However, I took one star off because the sales lady, who was very nice, was not familiar with all the sales going on in the store that day and I had to walk her through that and how to look up my Macy's card. LOVE Macy's been coming here for 20+ years and we recently started doing pick ups And I gotta say Victoria where the online pick up happens, is the rudest person I've ever come across in customer service. We've UNFORTUNATELY dealt with her a few times and dread it every time to the point where we send other people in our family to pick up when she's working. Today what really pissed me off was telling her 3 separate orders to pick up and she swore up and down that one of them had been picked up when we called my dad and checked the email again it hadn't se we go back to her and she still insists ta been picked up luckily they checked the order number again and it was there. Then instead of apologizing she blames us "she gave me the wrong order number" that's a wonderful apology, we actually gave you three order numbers. Screen your customer service reps better Macy's. Spent a half hour at the clinique counter working with the salesgirl. When I decided what I wanted to buy the girl spent 5-10 minutes searching for it, then came back and said she only had two colors--neither of which was the one I chose. My daughter made her choice with the same result. The girl could have saved herself from a poor yelp review by telling me in advance that clinique doesnt ever stock its counter. She said the company doesnt send stock. Poor poor customer service. The salesperson should know what she has on hand and tell the customer when shes working with them what is available or not. I'm developing a condition where I'm losing pigment on my face. My dermatologist recommended that I try dermablend make up to cover up the spots I'm self conscious of. The make up isn't easy to find. But find it I did. The sales girl helped me find the right shade and never tried to sell me anything else. No pressure. I like that. The make up foundation was 38.00. Not a bad deal for covering up what normal make up hasn't been able to. This stuff even covers tattoos. Glad I found what I was looking for. Overall a good experience. read more

Review 2: Headed to the ladies department where they had some semi formal dresses and every day clothing. I call it that because it wasn't quite the juniors and not the old lady stuff. Yesterday 1/24/22 I went in to Macys (fashion valley mall) to look for some clothes. As I was searching in the women's department I heard 2 employees talking to a family that consisted of the mom and 4 kids all under the age of 6. It caught my attention that the employees has this family in the middle of the hallway and they where what is seemed to be arguing/calling their attention. I got closer and the employees where accusing the oldest child (he was no older then 6yrs old) of stealing 2 chocolates from him he register. The mom was very confused and I hen I realized she didn't understand them she only spoke Spanish. Both employees kept directing themselves to the CHILD and telling him to say the truth. The mom I'm assuming by that time understood and she kept asking her child if he has taken them, he was SO EMBARRASSED he turned red and was really scared. He kept telling him mom that he didn't take them. The employees WEREN'T SATISFIED and then I went to get the actual employee that saw him! She came and with a horrible attitude told the mom " I saw him! He took one and then came back and took another!" As I said before, the mom didn't understand too much English so she kept looking around very confused. By this time there wasn't just 2 employees there where 5 employees surrounding them and directing themselves towards child! I could take it anymore and I went up to them and I said "I'll just pay for the chocolates that he took, but just please leave them alone, he already said he didn't take them" The employees where NOT happy with me for steeping in and with an attitude one of them said "that's not how it works, you can't just pay for the chocolates" I told her "Then what do you want from him?" And she said "We want him to understand that what he did is wrong" and that's when I knew they just wanted to keep him there too keep scolding him and embarrassing him and his family! By this time the boy looked like he wanted to cry and I told his mom I Spanish "I offered to pay the chocolates and they don't want me to they said they just want him to realize what he did" She then told me in Spanish "okay I understand I am going to talk to him and he won't do it again" She was so embarrassed and humiliated and she just stood there. The mom employees stood there and it didn't seem like they where going to leave that family alone. I will point out that 3 of them where white and the employees that saw the boy was Mexican (but didn't speak any Spanish). I told them "okay well mom knows and will talk to him now can you guys leave them alone" and all of them had a horrible attitude and finally turned around super mad because I didn't let them keep scolding the family and left! I walked away and a few minutes later as I was heading to dressing room the employee that saw the child taking the chocolates, she was maybe 5'4 curly hair on the heavier side, started talking about me as I passed by. She started yelling out "THIS ONE, THIS ONE ( as she pointed her finger at me) THIS ONE, HAD TO COME IN AND GET INVOLVED" .. like she was super mad that She wasn't allowed to keep scolding the kid Bc I jumped in! I turned around and told her "that is so unprofessional that you are talking about an customer literally in front of my face" and she yelled back "well you shouldn't have gotten involved when it wasn't your business!" I literally could not believe she was yelling and arguing with me In front of her employee friends and other customers. I turned around and left. I love going to macys in fashion valley everyone is so nice, everything is so organized as to other Macy but this whole situation was horrible and the employees all handled it horribly! Scolding a minor that didn't even understand them and I will add they kept making the comment "ugh they can't even understand us, ugh he doesn't even understand what we are saying" I believe they where being so racist and they took advantage of the fact that the family didn't speak English and made the situation horrible and bigger than what it had to be because they were going to get away with it!!! read more

WOW! What a difference between Fashion Valley Macy's vs all of the others. I came in today with a lipstick that I bought many years ago and LOVE that color. I came in with it, in hope of finding the exact color again. I found the brand name counter that it was originally purchased at and immediately a young lady named "Justine Wilder" (according to the business card I was issued) rushed over to assist me. I was shocked! I usually have to circle around the counters like a shark in heat in order to get someone, anyone to ask me if I need assistance. Justine took charge of the situation by putting a sample of my lipstick on her hand. Away we went starting at her counter all through all of the lipsticks in search of the color that I love. I could not believe this woman's customer service skills. She made me feel extremely special and as if I were the only customer in the store. During the search I ran upstairs to use the restroom and noticed how clever their marketers are. They have the woman's shoes right along the pathway to the rest room... Brilliant, but not fair. I rushed back down stairs to find Justine. By this point she actually found three colors that were close to the color I loved. We did not find one however, just because of the customer service I did end up purchasing a lipstick. After the lipstick I decided to ummm use the restroom again. LOL. Ok, I am lying. I had to go and check out the boots I saw the first time. All of the sudden I hear a pair of Red Cowgirl boots calling my name at first with a dull whisper. The closer I got the more I realized that they were the exact pair of boots I have been searching for almost a year, oh and they just started getting louder and louder. Short story long, I have some kick but Red Cowgirl boots and matching lipstick. Lipstick $26.00 Red Cowgirl boots $65.00 on sale Finding a sales representative that makes you feel like a Queen? Over the years I've switched from small mall retail stores (Banana Republic, J. Crew, Express Men, etc) to Macy's. Macy's always has a decent selection and range of men's clothes, as well as sale prices that can't be beat. Recently, on a one-day sale, I purchased 4 Kenneth Cole dress shirts, 4 ties, and 3 Calvin Klein/Kenneth Cole dress pants for $300. I also recently purchased a couple of suits for prices (and service) that definitely beat Men's Wearhouse. Lastly, I'd mention that I do have the Macy's card, which regularly sends out great discounts and has saved me quite a bit of money. read more

I called here during my Great Pants search. My usual store, the smaller Grossmont one, was out of my size. After calling around to different Macy's (see Parkway), I found that they were in stock here. An associate named Jessica helped me look them up. She went out on the floor and pulled them for me. Then I went in to get them. The store has a huge selection. Their clearance was also huge. The shoe selection is at least twice as big as Grossmont's. I ended up not getting the pants, due to a strange dye pattern that looked like a light stain (I wasn't sure it'd come off) but I did appreciate the courtesy with which I was treated. Like she cared. I encountered a few other associates as I walked through (I didn't know where the section I needed was) and they were very helpful/friendly though very busy themselves. The store was very neat for a 1 day sale and way neater and more accurately size-organized than the Grossmont or Parkway stores. read more
