We bought bed set from Macy's furniture. Emina was great help. She's very nice and patient and approachable, our daughter loved hanging out with her while we were shopping! She gave good advices and let us know which product to avoid which I usually don't expect from sales person. Macy's in VF has a really good selection, at least compared to the Stoneridge one... they tend to have a few more upscales brands. Also it seems they're always having a sale which is cool. Don't forget to go during the men's private sale nights, everything 20% off including Lacoste and all other regularly excluded name brands. read more

A few words on subscribing to a Macy's card: It sounds like a good deal if you are going to get a limited 15% off for a couple of days, but really be careful with this. First of all you are enrolling into a credit card which surveys your credit history and gets ahold of all your personal information, which means you are selling your identity for a small discount, and there are a lot better clothes out there than what is offered at Macy's. Second, if you decide to go for the card, make sure that you know the distinction between a store card and a Visa card. This means you could be enrolled in two accounts without your knowledge, so verify this when you receive the plastic version of the card in the mail. Third, You WILL be enrolled in a Credit Protection Plan program whether you choose to "opt-in" by initialling your name or not. So also verify that you are not enrolled when have chosen to opt out when you receive your card. This is a lot of work when you're just trying to get a discount, and maybe the hassle isn't worth it. If you're looking for a discount, look for a store who will do it to value you as a customer, rather than look to use your information to fill their market research programs and SSN database!! I've just had to retroact everything, and you don't see the discounts until you get your statement, and by that time, they've already charged you a % of the APR. This is an age where customers should have more liberty over their products, and Macy's business model is aging as it is. read more

I've been to Macys so many times and I love it. It's so nice to go into a department store and have great people wanting to help you. The variety is excellent. I live in Sunnyvale, and every Macy's I've been to is okay, but nothing compares to the one in San Francisco in union square. Lately Macys have had some good prices. Especially the womens clothing. There are a lot of clearance racks. It is kind of hard to get someone to help you look for other sizes and the fitting rooms can be a mess. Sometimes it can be hot in there too. Especaily if you are trying on clothes. I suggest you dress light. Other than that this is my favorite Macys to shop at. They always have a great selection of items and they have more of the high end items unlike the eastridge mall. read more

The best part about Macy's is that they are nationwide. We bought a mattress in California ahead of time to have it ship to a high riser apartment in the loop, Chicago. This store has the best selection on mattresses. Vincent Vo the Sales Rep assured us that we didn't have to worry about the delivery. This was so critical because we wanted the delivery to be done on specific date, the delivery people were phenomenal! They delivered within the assigned time window even though big trucks are not allowed in the loop, they gave us a courtesy call when they were only a few minutes away, and they set up the new frame and mattress. I have bought several mattresses at this store and I have always been very pleased with their service, no wonder I keep coming back. read more

It just keeps getting better. Weeks ago and Minutes before an interview I burst into the Menswear department. I needed a new shirt quickly. John was available that day and got me fixed up fast. I'm impressed by a salesman that has a good eye and John sized me correctly, then using a tape measure to confirm his estimate. I made the interview on time and landed the job. The S/O went in to surprise me with a shirt after I met him. He remembered enough detail about me to get the sizing right... impressive. Thank You John! I recently purchased a loose powder foundation from Macy's valley fair while shopping with my mom( even though i haven't shopped there for at least 7 years). I later found the foundation i use online so yesterday i decided to return the powder since it was still in my bag. I hadn't even taken it out from the box. So i approach the first available beauty advisor. While i'm engaged in a conversation with a friend in a different language, she's inspecting this product even for at least 5 minutes even though you can clearly see it has never even been opened. She started looking at it from every possible angle, shaking it and she even removed the label from inside which is holding the powder( you take it off before using it). I mean this a product that even a 5 year old can see is unopened and untouched. Made me feel so sick. Just because i was speaking in a different language doesn't mean she should treat me like a scam. I was so frustrated and knowing myself i chose to walk away otherwise i was going to embarrass her so bad she'd quit her job.The most impolite, unprofessional and and rude saleswoman i've ever seen. I own a fine jewelry store and i never ever judge my customers by their looks or language. It's discrimination which i hate. I speak 5 languages and it doesn't change anything . It disgusted me so bad that I'm coming back and writing about this. Her Associate number is 10804578. If she absolutely had to judge me, she could've looked at the jewelry i was wearing that is worth way more than she could ever make working at macy's and making people uncomfortable. Horrible service! Macy's would do well to train the people that work for them. I recently called the shoe department. I have bought three pairs of shoes online and wanted to return two of them to the Westfield Mall store. I spoke to a gentleman who did not know the shoe department. He said the only way he could help me is if I gave him a "sku" number. I told him I had the box and gave him the name of the shoe. He had a hard time understanding so I gave him the long number on the end of the box. He still could not help me. I asked if I could speak to a manager. He said his manager was not "close". I asked him to go and get them. He put me on hold and never came back. WOW! I guess that is one way to not have to deal with an issue. I tried calling back. The number was busy (probably still had me on hold) so I kept trying to call back. When it rang, no one picked up. Absolutely incredible! They do not know what excellent service is about. Wake up Macy's! You wonder why you had to close so many stores? It is because Nordstrom's is kicking your fanny around the block on customer service! It is about having a "shopping experience" that makes you want to return. All this, so I could return shoes I paid for online that were to small and replace them with the same shoe of the right size. If there is 0 star, I will give it 0. We bought a over $3,000 value dinner table set including 8 chair + $250 insurance about 4 years ago. We were told the $250 insurance will cover all sort of damages on the table during 7 years. There is no much detail exclusion terms on the receipt. A year ago, we decide to call the insurance company and claim an accidental steam mark on the table. One technician came said "this table needs to be replaced according to your insurance policy, he could not easily fix it on site". Then we called the insurance company numerous times, either nobody pick up the call or decline us said "this is not in the scope" but what is the "scope" no agent can answer us with specific reason. I feel like being cheated by the "insurance". If you are purchasing any furniture from Macy's furniture store, do not be deceived by the 7 year refundable $250 insurance. We are very disappointed by the quality of the table too. The chairs legs are unstable since the first few months we bought it. After a few times fix, they are still with shaking legs. The full set cost us a little more than $3,000. We thought it should be good quality, but so vulnerable. After about 4 years purchase, we have to dump all, and buy new set, but definitely not from Macy's furniture - just looks good on demo, expensive, but not with real solid quality, and have a fake insurance company as partner. read more

I needed help finding shoes from the shoe department and had to wait 30 minutes to get a specific size. Finally at checkout, the associate Simia was rude to me when I asked her if she can match the online price. She told me that the only way that can happen is if I apply for a Macy's card. This is not true considering other Macys stores honor their online prices. I wanted to speak to a manager, but Simia said No, that is not possible. RIGHT!! No discrimination there, right? Also I went to the Michal Kors watch counter with 3 watches..the lady who was going to size them was very jealous because she was not the one who sold them to me and got the commission, asking me..Who sold these to you..it wasn't me. WOW..talk about unprofessional. Your customer service clerks are LACKING...teach them how to be professional and not act all jealous when a customer comes in to size a piece of jewelry just because they were not the clerk who sold it and got the commission. Macy's switched from Visa to American Express as their credit card provider. I never received a bill or email from them until recently. I was checking my credit cards and when I logged onto the account on 7/3/16, there was $186.00 charge. I traced it back to 2/2015 for $39.12. All this time, Macy's has been adding interest and late fees onto my account without contacting me! This is their error as they need to provide me a bill. I called them and the gentleman was nice and removed some fees. He then told me the lowest he could offer me was $112.61. How is this fair that they don't make any effort to call me or leave me a message to let me know there are charges on my account? They are ripping people off. read more

I had recently ordered 6 dresses from macy's online. Their shipping staffs did a very bad job packing for shipping. The dresses were shipped from 4 different locations & only One dress was on hanger, hooked onto the cut out slot in the shipping box, with long plastic bag over the dress. The rest of the dresses were folded, put in wrapped plastic bags & some taped with shipping tapes rolled up in a bunch; then were stuffed in a plastic shipping bag to ship out, making these dresses all bunched up inside the plastic shipping bags. This is not business-like & professional at all! The material of the dresses are very thin to rather thin, so the dresses look a mess arriving. Unpacking & looking at the dresses makes me don't want to even try them on & don't intend to either. Given the material of the dresses are not that good & all except one dress style looks nice in real life, I'm returning all of them. This is my very first time order from Macy's & will be my last. This just reconfirms why I haven't bought or shopped at Macy's in many years. read more

Friendliest Macy's I've seen! We went to buy gifts and were looking at the stuff in the Centerpieces,bowls,etc section. Doreen was super friendly and showed us around the section showing us pieces she recommended and covered a wide price range. She then let us go around and look some more and decide. We decided on a pair of Kosta Boda candle sticks. They were over our budget and super heavy but so elegant that we had to buy 2 pairs. She rang us up and chatted and joked while doing so. It was fun! 2 days later we decided we couldn't carry both in our suitcases so decided to return a pair. We found Doreen again,ever smiling and joking about the return! A fun experience! We also went to the handbags section and I loved to browse around for the stuff among their wide selection until we selected a Marc Ecko! Just had the most pleasant experience with the sweetest lady at the Estée Lauder counter in the makeup department. I told her how I was wrongly matched at a Sephora for my foundation color and she was so welcoming and warm. She had me sit on a chair and picked out several shades she thought would work with my skin tone. She was making conversation with me throughout the matching process, and when I couldn't decide on which shade to buy she happily offered to give me samples. When I told her I was going on vacation she hooked me up and gave me more bottles of samples. I forgot her name already but 5 stars for being super sweet and funny! I have to write this because it's the second time I had an awful in store experience at Macy's women Valley Fair. Today I just wanted to make a return but I was sent to a section and waited 20 mins where nobody could have helped me. When I was trying to make a return but was told by a Manager Carol that I had to went to second floor where the mystlist located to make the return which is the return policy, and that's the first time I heard about it, and this 'new policy' is neither on the Macy's receipt or Macys.com. The Michael Kors specialist Blinda was really helpful and lead to the place, but there was no body there for this four handbags return. I had waited 20 mins there but still no body came while Blinda was trying to call somebody to help me. However, it seems not a right place for customer to make returns since no associates around even know who works in this area. Finally another sales manager came to help me with the return which was actually two handbags. After the return was done, I explained everything to her but she didn't even know if macy has such a policy. Therefore, I was really pissed off why I had to be sent to a different place for a 20 mins waiting while we usually can make purchase and return at the Michael Kors handbag section. I really don't understand why this could have happened at Macy, I did see people had returned much more than I had, and it was not fair to a customer like me. This is not supposed to happen at Macy, to my understanding Macy is formed by its Magic Service and that's why people love to shop at Macy. I don't get it what's wrong with the manager Carol. I'm just returning goods in brand new condition and in the return eligible period, why were they giving me a hard time? I have to mention the Michael Kors vender, who never greet me, who gave me a Hard time of returning two months ago, who never tell me her name every time I ask, who would only say she is not working here , who called the manager Carol came as soon as she saw me trying to make my return.
