Still paying payments on our very expensive Mad City showers. We did not get the service that they advertise and promise. They knew it needed to be redone and couldn't get to it for a few months which was just fine with us. The problem is when we left for vacation assuming we didn't start making pymts until their mistakes were fixed. They had sent us their worse crew who probably only had done siding or some other construction so it needed to be all redone. They reported us to the credit bureau and started collecting immediately. Then months later got it redone. This product costs so much more than it should. They sell service, the one day and all. We didn't get even close to that. Then my last order was ruined; I understand the 3-13 day period if an item isn't currently in stock however, as of today 10/25, it has been 45 days, no delivery. The reason that I chose Mad City Outdoors was that they showed the item that I wanted was in stock - When I first emailed to see why my payment had been collected but my items not shipped, I received a condescending reply, telling me how to read a web ad that clearly says my items will ship in 3 to 13 days. Yes, I got that, but certainly if you're managing a business, you have some idea of when within that window you're going to take an item from the shelf and put it in the mail. I didn't ask for a refresher on the policy, I asked for a time estimate. This email concluded by telling me that if they weren't going to meet my needs, I could cancel my order. More than a week later I followed up again - still no idea when they might ship, but I ought to read their blog she says, because the COVID pandemic is affecting suppliers, and they have details there. A simple "it will be in the mail by XXX " would have been fine - I was sent a shipping notice on Saturday - good news, your item has shipped! Um, no, it hadn't - what actually happened was that they created a shipping label, but my items hadn't actually shipped. Here it is Tuesday, and she sends yet another long reply about not being able to keep up with demand etc, and two people are working full time filling orders, and if I'll just wait ANOTHER 24 hours, there ought to be "movement" on my order. They false advertise and sell things they don't actually have! They list things for sale as "Will ship in 3-13 days" on their website yet when I went to order items listed as that and asked where it was after a few weeks of no updates they told me it isn't actually in their inventory and are awaiting a resupply from the manufacturer. One of the items didn't even say that when I ordered it, yet after I ordered it they must have changed it.. The order I placed was in April and to this day (over 5 months later!!!) the order is still not complete. I tried to request a refund for an item in the order that still hadn't shipped, but their representatives lie, skirt the issue, and basically refuse to do anything I want, yet at the same time try to assure me they are "easy" to work with. Yeah right! They have had no problem wasting a ton of my time with a ton of back and forth emails (I have sent 7 separate emails so far!) trying to accomplish very simple things. My son ordered a pair of pants that arrived with missing teeth on the zipper. They did not respond to his emails until I reached out to them myself. They then responded to him and not myself. He is a minor and I would like to resolve the issue but they will only deal with him as they do not want to answer to an adult. The pants were shipped back after there response and have arrived over a week and a half ago. We now have no contact or help from them at all. I served and was stationed in NC where I own a rental home and have an attorney I use near them. I will be there this summer and would love to ruffle their feathers. She hasn't responded to them. 18 customers from all over the country having the same or similar experience. Who are you going to believe? Her response shows clearly her attitude towards the customers of Mad City Outdoor. I don't know who her boss is, but the way she has talked to me I wouldn't put up with as a manager. I want to first say that they deliver very high quality products. I had an order that was taking a bit longer due to inventory issues (the apparel that I needed was extremely rare and very hard to track down), but they were still able to track it down. Their customer service during the entire process was AMAZING as they dealt with my impatience at times (no one likes to wait for anything these days). Still regardless of being a difficult customer they covered the bill of expedited shipping to make sure I had it in time before my wife & I's moving deadline. They clearly say on their site if an item will take extra time to get delivered. They keep you informed about the shipping and answer questions quickly. Their selection is vast, to say the least. I'm still waiting on a Condor water bladder but they've kept me informed as to why they are back-ordered. My SnugPak gear arrived within the timeframe they promised. Everything arrived in perfect condition. With outdoor activities so popular this year finding good high-quality gear has been tough. Add in the shipping and manufacturer delays I am very impressed. I wrote back with a few questions about the alternative they suggested (which turned out to be the opposite of what I had originally ordered and completely wrong for my purposes). Although I did not receive an answer to a single one of my questions about said alternative, I did receive an email -- one nanosecond later -- informing me that my order for the alternative snow shoes had been placed and was confirmed. Scammers. Read the many reviews about this place here and on other sites, and the BBB complaints/reviews. Everything they don't have in stock they say will ship in 3-13 days. This time I caught them, in writing. An item even the manufacturer doesn't have until December. I asked them explicitly where it's coming from and if they definitely have it that soon vs everyone else waiting on the manufacturer. They were careful to use semantics to not directly say yes or no but I was persistent and got them. It's all documented in writing. I literally laid out this exact situation and told them I don't want it to happen weeks later, to which they agreed... yet here we are. The item was never being shipped in 3-13 days and they admitted they have no clue when it's arriving, meaning they were waiting on the manufacturer like every other retailer for this item and didn't want to lose a sale.
