Wonderful spot in Long Beach for breakfast or brunch. They have tables inside or outside. It is really a lovely location with a cute little shop next door incase you are waiting for a table. The food is really good and plentiful. Since it was brunch, I got the Mimosa Flight which is 3 mimosas of orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice - so fun! I just wish I had chosen a different dish than the Divorsados, not because they weren't good because they delicious but when our table got the French Toast dish with ice cream, I knew I should have gotten the waffle. LOL The staff is super sweet as well. They were very attentive. We sat outside which was very nice. The weather was perfect. I can't wait to go again.
I'd been to the Whittier location, which was very small, only to find a much more spacious location here. For a Sunday at brunch time, the restaurant wasn't very busy and we were sat right away on the patio. Our server was super sweet and they have a wide selection of coffee beverages that we partook in. Everything we had was good and with good portions of meat. Prices were what they are these days - about $150 for four people, each with a drink, and an extra entree to share. I have many places yet to try but Madres will remain a good choice when I'm not feeling adventurous to try something new.
Disappointed!!!!! First the table was sticky with jam. Very dry birria omelette with oil for consomme! They forgot the egg for the chilaquiles. Photos on menu dont look the same/similar to what they served us today. We were here last year and it was great, unfortunately the food and service has declined.
Great Mexican brunch spot with amazing food and drinks! The mimosas were perfect and so refreshing, and the chilaquiles were exactly how I like them crunchy, not soggy at all. Everything had great flavor, the service was good, and it's in a really nice area. I'd definitely come back again! The ambiance is calm too but they have nice upbeat music playing inside! Also try the orange salsa it's soo good and spicy.
If I could give this place more stars I would. The atmosphere is quiet and smooth, the service was hands down the best I've had in a long time. The restaurant is clean and the server we had was careful with allergies and cross contamination. We would recommend this place to everyone. The food was the best part
We came at 8:45 am on a Saturday morning. We were the first people here. Greeted immediately upon entering. This is a super fun place because they change the menu so check out their Instagram to find out what their monthly specialities are!! I ordered the Michelada with Modelo. Very refreshing, and yes I know it's 8:45 in the morning but I'm on vacation! Boyfriend had a flight of coffees: abuelita which was very chocolatey, pistachio( which tasted soo good!!) and marzipan! For my breakfast I ordered the salmon toast. It was so delicious! Fresh salmon! Fresh ingredients! Boyfriend had the Baja Omelette. He was very impressed with house fresh and delicious it tasted!!! As we were leaving this place was getting much busier. It seems like a really fun spot to bring friends and they have large tables to accommodate. Our server was very friendly and had great suggestions!
Went here for my birthday brunch and the food was actually pretty good. Let's start off with the Madres chilaquiles, the meat is birria and with the red sauce. I would give it a 7.5/10, I wish the tortillas were extremely soggy so it could have a crunch to it. The birria meat itself was pretty good. I also wish they added more of the chicharron topping. The pastor omelette was a 8.5/10, the meat was also good and well seasoned. The birria omelette was a 9/10! Switched the sides to hash-browns and it was better. The hazel waffle was also a good waffle, their waffles are pretty thick here tho! Margarita flight was delicious! If you want to order a latte, order the mazapan latte! Iced or hot, either way it's delicious! If you don't like caffeine, the strawberry horchata latte was AMAZINGGGG! Service- was a 10/10. We waited about 5 mins on a Sunday. We got seated quick, drinks and food were served to us quickly. Waiters & waitresses were friendly and attentive. Ambiance- cute vibe inside, not as spacious as I thought but decent amount of space. They also have our door seating if you'd like! The decor and painting on walls were very cutesty!
This is my kinda spot and I wish we lived here cause I'd be here all the time. We arrived at our hotel and rooms were not ready so we decided to stroll around town and find a coffee shop to hang for a bit. We walked in here and they had the house music blasting away, a group of gals were having a birthday party and it was super cute inside. Sat down and order up some lattes and the most delicious and funky pancakes I've ever had!! Horchata latte was really delicious and had a wonderful cinnamon flavor. Chica Bonita for the abuelita chocolate latte and the hearts were so adorable! Excellent chocolatey flavors and such a treat! The Wilma pancakes are OMG Fruity pebbles mixed in the pancake batter then they serve up the condensed milk table side and it's delightfully delicious! Sticky sweet and crunchy goodness. I looooovvvvvveeeeeee this spot and your will too.
This place was wonderful! The food was delicious, the space and decore was nice and the environment was welcoming. We had a large party and celebrated my graduation there. All of the staff were sweet and attentive. Our waiter was so kind! He checked on us often and made me feel so special on my special day. I had a horchata latte that was spectacular. I would love to go back.
My girlfriends and I came here yesterday for brunch and we had a good experience with our food. They have mimosa flights, Michelada flights, and margarita flights. Aesthetically speaking, everything looked very nice. It's a cool vibe in there and they definitely have many breakfast item favorites for everyone. They even had a vegan section which was impressive. The only thing that I really disliked about this place was the volume of the music. It was so loud in there on a Sunday morning, I was screaming over the table to have a conversation with my girlfriends. I don't mind music playing in the background, but that high volume was really unnecessary. I felt like I was in a club! Note to the owner(s) and members of staff, turn down the volume.
Came here on a Sunday for Brunch around 12pm. Upon walking up, it was a line lol but tbh, we were seated within a good amount of time. We decided to sit outside on this particular day. I ordered a mimosas flight and the Birria Omelette. The Birria Omelette was tasty, just needed to add some salt 8/10. In regard to parking, there's metered street parking. It was a sunday so parking was free but please keep in mind, it's long beach so you know you may be searching for a minute but it's worth it.
Food was unique in their own way . Different appearance than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever seen. Food was good . Breakfast is their specialty . What a great new find. Little on the expensive end but good to try. Service was average . Inside was decorated very cute. I must say their restroom is for All gender and it was not very tidy. Overall I would recommend this place for your own views and taste.

Reagan was absolutely amazing! My best friend and I came in for my birthday brunch, and she made the whole experience perfect. She took our orders quickly, made sure we got our drinks right away, and ensured our food came out hot and fresh. Even while multitasking -- taking photos, working the room, and managing everything -- she never missed a beat! She truly went above and beyond to make our brunch special. My Bestie says five stars all around, and our Guy Bestie said "all my stars, all out!" Thank you, Reagan, for making my birthday brunch so fun and memorable! That's 15 stars all round read more

Food was excellent wish they had crushed red peppers but that nick picking lol but very good food. The service was amazing Able was on his job even when the food took along time he made sure we was taking care of . Ambiance was beautiful only thing very small but they make it work . I do recommend the Madres Lemonade, with lemonade strawberry and coconut milk trust your mind will say ooooooooowweeee. read more
We have been wanting to try brunch here for a while. We had cappuccino and pistachio latte Excellent amount of sweetness for the pistachio drink. We also had pistachio waffles And Chilaquiles The birria was absolutely juicy and amazing. read more
Came back to dine in this time! Great service. It's so cute inside, love the deco. I tried the Chilango with verde sauce. I've never even heard of such a dish before and it was SO GOOD. It was everything I've always wanted without knowing I wanted. It was a little hefty on the price at $22- uncharged from the menu's listed $18- due to our eggs situation but honestly, it was worth it. It was perfect. As always, I have to try the matcha so I got an iced matcha with Oat milk- delicious as well! Gotta do a sweet treat with savory breakfast, hence the pistachio pancakes. They were so fun looking, bright green with strawberry jelly drizzled on top. The actual pistachio flavor was very faint, I think I would've liked more. Definitely recommend this place! Great service, delicious food. I waited 30 min for a table, once seated the food came out pretty quickly, hot and fresh. Service was great, all of the staff worked as a team so everyone was very attentive. There are so many delicious items on the menu. You'll want to try everything..and the portions are huge and shareable. My only reason for minus 1 star is the outside seating area in in between a lot of vegetation which had folks swatting Japanese beetles,flying and gnats while trying to enjoy your meal. I think they should have some ethical deterrent around or mesh on the outside of the tented eating area to keep the bug at a distance. Yes, folks were capturing the beetles and releasing them but more woul come. Nonetheless,I so enjoyed my meal and plan to return very soon. Nothing beats brunch with your homegirls! Recently, we all got together for brunch at Madres Brunch in downtown Long Beach. The restaurant is on a corner, parking was minimal, and there was only metered parking available. The restaurant itself is super cute. Pink is definitely a big part of the theme. We went around noon and sat inside by the window, which was nice because we could people watch while we ate. I kept it pretty simple and got the two egg breakfast. It came with two scrambled eggs, toast, and a choice of bacon or sausage. I decided to get both, added a pancake on the side, and got breakfast potatoes. Both of my friends ordered the chilaquiles. One got green sauce, the other got red, and both were topped with steak. I really enjoyed my breakfast. It was super simple but very filling. Both of my friends liked their chilaquiles, but they did wish the chips weren't so soggy. I also got a super cute white mocha latte with an intricate design on top, and it was delicious. Our waiter was amazing, very attentive, and funny, which made the experience even better. I enjoyed the food, the vibe, and spending time with my friends. We definitely plan on coming back to try more items on the menu. read more
Met a friend from Vegas she came to Ca. For the long weekend. Someone recommended Madres Brunch. Well it was a little bit disappointed was really looking forward to a nice meal with her. My little one got the 3 pancake order .. they were super chewy I kept trying to cut them in pieces since she's only 4 and boy they would not cut through. I ordered the steak and egg. Asked for steak medium and eggs sunny side up. They were both over cooked. Steak was bland. My friend ordered the French toast was super dried. She also ordered the green chilaquiles she told me to take must of them home. Her husband ordered some sampler item. He didn't looked like he was happy either but I didn't want to ask him. Regular coffee was just ok too. I only took like 2 sips. Service was great but that was it for today. Was looking forward to a nice brunch. But fell very short. Bathrooms needed a clean up. read more
Had to check this place out and understand what the hype was all about. I must say, this place was worth the hype. Great food and ambiance. It has a vibe to it. Worth visiting over and over again. The place was bustling with people. We ordered the vegan Chile relleno omelette, Chilaquiles rojos, Cappuccino with oat milk and hot chocolate. Food was very, very delicious. Their portions were good and can be filling depending on what you order. Loved that they had a vegan section on their menu. I felt as if they were less on staff. Their staff were extremely busy. This place is a must try on the weekend ! The vibe inside is fun and laid back ! They play great music ! The staff is friendly and the service was great ! You will wait for at least 30 minutes for a table especially if you have a large group but the wait is worth it ! They have mimosa and coffee flights which are delicious ! A must try ! They have some specialty pancakes and French toast . My favorite is the birria omelet and the breakfast potatoes are good too - nice and soft but with a good crunch . If you want something healthy you can order some eggs and chicken breast with avocado or avocado toast and let me tell you the toast is so thick it's like eating 3 slices of bread and so soft and yummy almost like eating a croissant. Worth every star! Arrive early to avoid the rush; the casual space fills quickly with eager diners. Metered parking is available nearby, so plan accordingly. The menu shines when shared, making it ideal for friends who enjoy sampling together. Be sure to save room for pancakes/waffles--someone at the table must order a sweet dish. The service is great. The servers are very welcoming and accommodating. Nice decoration and clean atmosphere. We enjoyed The One, birrira sandwich. It was so good. The pistachio waffle and strawberry pancakes were beautiful but tasted okay. You can taste the food coloring in the aftertaste. That's my only critique. read more
As you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is the vibrancy-lots of pink! When I visited in January, it seemed like the Christmas decorations were still up--or perhaps that's just part of the usual charm. I appreciated how colorful the space was, complemented by the ambiance of coffee shop music playing in the background. We arrived at a good time, before it got crowded. The tables are set close together. Impressed that servers were able to squeeze through with large plates. Most of the seating is designed for small groups of two to four people. On to the food, I felt it was on the pricey side. But you'll get your money's worth with the portion sizes. Although, I didn't really enjoy my Nutella French toast the day after. It dried up too much. But I really enjoyed the plantains the day of. If you get a French toast or waffle, I honestly feel you could divide it among 3 people. My companions were fans of their juevos divorciados and the madres chilaquiles. Overall, i would recommend trying their spot out: creative plays on breakfast foods, attentive servers, and nice ambiance. read more

Overrated. Service is slow had to wait like 15 min to get someone's attention. Chilaquiles were super dry. We also ordered a breakfast platter that came with raw/cold sausages. After 15 minutes I had to stand up and let them know. They then brought new sausages but soaked in oil. read more
The family was up in Long Beach for a tournament, and my daughter were looking for a place to have some brunch. She spotted this very bright and very pink restaurant and was set on going here. Walking up we didn't have to wait long before being seated and thr staff were all great. Very helpful with the menu and were great checking up on you to make sure everything was okay. My daughter opted for thr rainbow pancakes. They were your every day pan cakes and nothing really stood out about them. Good, but it was a pancake. I opted for thr chchilaquiles which were already pricey at $17. I added the birria meat which was an extra $7. I have to say that i assumed I would have gotten a good portion size of birria, but it was a very sad scoop of birria. The chilaquiles were tasty, but the birria did lack in flavor sadly. There were plenty of other dishes that other customers were having that looked really good. I would return, but if i got the chilaquiles again, I would opt to not add meat as the portion you get doesn't match the price. read more

My friend and I split brunch items because we wanted both sweet and savory. We ordered Chiliquilles with birria on top, originally they forgot to add it, but quickly took our plate and corrected it. This establishment does not have a liquor license. They don't sell tequila or any liquor. They have a beer and wine license so the "margaritas" are wine based meaning they consist of no actual liquor. If you're looking for a full bar, this probably isn't the best place. The food is good. It is a bit mid. They have a huge menu with a lot of options and everything is presented well. The servers are kind and the service is fast. The restaurant is small inside. You're seated very close to other tables. It is cute and has fun music but it's definitely underwhelming compared to the pictures you see on social media. read more

Went Saturday around noon, it wasn't completely packed and we were able to sit down right away. I ordered a Strawberry Horchata Latte, which tasted like warm strawberry milk and it is sooo comforting!! Then I ordered the Madres Chilaquiles it's a 10/10 for me, would order again! I also ordered The Hazel waffles, also delicious because I have a sweet tooth and enjoyed it! The ambiance was cute too and the walls were cutesy. Overall, I would come again. read more
Looking for a dog friendly brunch place or somewhere to bring your hangry friend? This spot is it. Come hungry. The food is so filling and so good. Shoutout to our server Uly and one of the restaurant founders, Junior. The service was on point and prompt. All the staff were super friendly. This is a dog friendly restaurant, so don't forget your fur baby/friend. Dogs are allowed inside and outside the restaurant - they have a patio for outdoor seating. Ordered multiple items and they were all good. Would recommend all of them, especially the Birria Benedict and the Los Cubanos. The meat was not dry and flavored tastefully. For drinks, the strawberry lemonade was especially good - nice and sweet, but not too sweet. Reservations may be a no go, but this place is definitely worth it. Be prepared, there may be a longish wait. They also accept large parties. I had a 10+ party and we waited for about 40 min during busy hours. read more
Went for the first time on a Sunday morning at 6:30am. We had the whole place to ourselves for an hour. We had also been waiting until their liquor license went through. I'm not going to have brunch without a mimosa . I'll include an alcohol drink menu. Service was great and the food was good. Got the Chile quilles omelet and was amazing ! Added steak and a side of a little spice! The decor was so cute was pretty noisy and staff was nice but extremely busy. They seem they tried to be attentive but it was pretty fast paced inside. I imagine if you sat outside you'd get overlooked. But the food was very good ! I would for sure recommend this for a cute girls brunch or for a bday brunch. read more
We had a great experience here. Came in for a late lunch, it was busy but we only had to wait about 15min. I had my puppy with me, and they are very dog friendly and even allow dogs inside. The food was very tasty, I had the chilaquiles which were recommended and my friend had the birria. The portions are huge from all the plates I saw them bringing out. My boyfriend and I heard great reviews about this place, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the Popeye omelette, and my boyfriend got the chilaquiles rojos. The food was flavorful; however, our only complaint was that it came out a bit cold. The service was amazing. I'd say that was the highlight of our experience! Great music and environment, our waitress was very sweet and although a bit busy they did their best to attend us. Would come again! This place was such a vibe. It's a little small on the inside but a great spot to do brunch. They have an interesting selection of pancakes and waffles that I didn't get to try but would definitely come back to try. The portion sizes were huge and I definitely couldn't finish all of my food though I tried. The waitress I had was very sweet and diligent with assisting me through the meal. read more

Professional service is back! Fun place! The food was great. We stumbled upon Madres looking for breakfast this morning. Loved the friendly people and A+ service. Do they take reservations?
No unfortunately this restaurant is first come first serve type of place but the wait is usually only 30 -45 minutes depending on what time of day you go .
What is the parking situation? Is there a lot, structure, or street parking?
Meter parking and on Sundays it's free, but if you can't find anything there is a paid parking 🅿️ lot on the corner of Elm and 1st street which is half a block walk.
