Found this place on Instagram, it's like the biggest hit at the moment. Of course I wanted to come and try. I don't know why I decided to come at prime time 10 am, aka brunch o' clock. Everyone and their mother was here. We waited 1 hour and 10 min when they had told us 45, just so you get an idea of what to expect. It's super busy and there is people coming and going all around you, it's busy. They are so quick to turn over the tables. Our server was so sweet, even though I don't remember her name, she was attentive. The food was good, except the super sweet waffle, topped with Nutella. My daughter couldn't finish it. We had the 2 egg combo with a salad, with bacon. Huevos divorciados with a giant potato, delicious. Husband had the chilaquiles with Birria, so good. The house coffee is so tasty and it comes with hot steam milk, what a nice touch. The place overall is ok, the noise level is average, I would probably only come here if the wait time was only 15 min. read more

We were looking for a good brunch spot in Whittier before heading out for some shopping! We googled a spot and the picture of the pink pancakes caught are attention! But wow were we in store for so much mor! The service and food was so tasty The one breakfast sandwich did not disappoint with from the cheese crust to the perfectly cooked birria and soft over easy egg! Everything was amazing, only thing we would have like the French toast to be a bit more moist very thick and dry. Overall keep doing what y'all doing! Great brunch spot!!!! read more

First time being here, my review on this place is a 4 stars on drinks but absolutely 3 1/2 on food not my cup of tea. I was raised to eat authentic Mexican food. This place is more of an American Mexican food as you would call it, we ask ourselves what is that, well not American but not Mexican, I guess in between. I will not return, they actually charge you for every little thing, I asked for chilaquiles and my daughter doesn't like the beans on the bottom of the chilaquiles and I asked for them to be on the side, they changed me for that. I ordered chile relleno omelet and asked if I wanted tortillas, well that was an extra charge Ay! Dios mío, I understand it's a business and we are here to support. I suggest to let your customers know that everything you order on the side it's a charge, that way we don't get hit with a big bill and wonder what I paid for smh. Do a little better, service was ok. Pictures of food look great, but the taste not authentic like I said in the beginning. I really think people go here more for the drinks than the food. You can try it and choose for yourself. This is my opinion as a true authentic Mexican raised with authentic Mexican food and cook as well. 3 people $95 for breakfast read more

Pretty busy spot no reservations, first come first serve. Wait can be 20-30 minutes on average. This place is crowded and very loud. The lattes were really good and super cute! The chilaquiles pretty good, presentation was great but extremely skimpy with the toppings definitely needs more to fulfill the dish in its entirety. We asked for more cheese, crema and onions and charged $4 extra for it. Had to ask a few times and they kept forgetting to bring the onions so food got cold by the time we got everything together. Ordered an extra latte and they forgot that too had to ask for it again. Got the flight of mimosas I don't drink but my friends said they were good. They come on a 3 tier stand super cute. Good spot to grab brunch probably would've been a better experience had it not been so crowded. Taking out a few tables would probably solve that probably sure there might be a longer wait time but food and service could be better. read more

This was my first time at madres brunch. Madres is decorated with beautifully painted murals. Our server was Brenda, she was so welcoming and made sure our experience was excellent. The ambiance was good. As for the food it was ok. The green chilaquiles I would rate it as 5/10 as it did not have much flavor. I asked without any meat just to try the flavor...I was disappointed. We got the chocolate pancakes and that would be a 6/10. It definitely looked/tasted like regular pancakes. Huge fan of chocolate so was looking forward to that rich chocolate taste. All that made it chocolate was the ice cream scoop it had in it. As for the Madres Chilaquiles those were a 9/10. You can't go wrong with those. Even though I was skeptical about getting birria from there. I have to say their birria is full of flavor and has that soft texture to it. Their hash brown is pretty good since it has cheese as well. Their mimosa flight was good too $20 for orange, cherry, and pineapple flavors. read more

my first time visit and i have no complaints. the presentation of the food & aesthetic decor makes it IG worthy. there were no drink menus available but they are known for their colorful mimosa flights. i ended up ordering an iced matcha latte with oatmilk and it was a little underwhelming considering it tasted very watered down. my bf & i shared the birria chilaquiles + the journey pancakes. i love anything strawberry and the pancakes tasted exactly like a strawberry shortcake. as an avid dessert lover i was not prepared for how sweet it would be. it's good, but definitely towards halfway eating i needed water to wash it all down because it was too sweet. 8/10 for me the chilaquiles were so good & crispy! we were told it's VERY spicy so we opted to get it with green sauce because I can't handle my spicy. there was a good amount of protein with every bite. it was definitely something we needed to pair it with the sweetness from the pancakes 9/10 read more

This was my first time here and I absolutely loved the food! We went for the special event, Carlos Y Charlos, and needless to say, it was extremely busy! It seemed everyone has reservations and it was a mess and people were leaving. Thankfully, although the hostess was not very nice at first, she accommodated us and we ended up with seats by the stage, which I absolutely loved. Now, the food, DELICIOUS! we got the Queso Fundido to start, get it! For the entree we shared the Taste of Oaxaca, amazing! Definitely have to share if you get this! I feel like I got to taste everything I'm smaller servings. It was perfect since we'd never been here, but that's what I'm ordering next time I go! Drinks, WOW! STRONG! I got the Mezcal Margarita, best dang margarita ever and the Kate y El Chapo, so strong, so flavorful, A MUST! Overall, 100% recommend! The music, ambiance & vibe are perfect for date night. Originally saw this restaurant on tiktok and was excited to see that it wasn't far from me. I was a bit overwhelmed with their money when I first saw it because I wanted to try everything. I ended up ordering the Birria Benedict. 100% would order it again! The table next to me got some pretty cool things that I would like to try including the journey pancakes and the on fire waffles. The servers that helped us were so kind and checked on us often. The food did take quite a long time to come out. When I went on Friday morning around 10, the place was packed already! There continued to be an influx of people for the following two hours. So it made sense that the food came out a bit slower. Looking forward to introducing some friends to this spot! read more

This is one of the hot spots in Whittier, Ca. A vibrant setting with a fun atmosphere. We're talking mimosas central. They come out in many different flavors and stacked up like a pyramid. Pretty cool. The decor is fun yet brings the Latin vibe with good music playing. Service is great. Very quick and work together. You need something they got you. Let's talk about this food. Yes! Yes! And yes! Lol. It don't matter what you order. You will definitely be satisfied with your choice. Just make sure whoever is with you gets something different so you can try some of theirs too. The sandwich breakfast on the menu was this thick Texas toast loaded with your choice of meat, two eggs, cheese lettuce , tomato, Mayo. Also had the Pistachio waffle served with a scoop of pistachio ice cream on top. Very tasty. The had the birria Benedict. A must try when you go. Two poached eggs on top of a muffin and bacon and cheese loaded with their house birria smothered on top. Finish off the meal with a great cup of coffee. We went there for a birthday brunch last weekend. They brought just a birthday waffle and set it on fire on the side so it was pretty special and tasty! Think of a s'mores likes waffle minus the chocolate

Sadly, no. There is a restaurant in Monrovia and Covina that serves Cafe de Olla. Fonda Don Chon and Cafe De Olla restaurant in Monrovia. Very delicious!

I visited this restaurant for brunch on Thursday around 10:30am, and it was pouring rain. The left side of the restaurant was completely empty with about 10-12 open tables. There was no wait, and we were seated at the first table right by the entrance. We politely asked the lady at the front if we could move to a different table, and she was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying "NO" without any explanation. Our waitress, on the other hand, was much nicer and offered to move us to a different table, which was the one we had originally asked about. But then, the so-called "manager" came over, told the waitress we had to move, and insisted we couldn't stay there, even though there was plenty of space and no wait. It felt like the manager was just being difficult and making a point to be rude for no reason. The table could easily accommodate us, yet we were being treated like we were inconveniencing them. At that point, we had enough of the awful service, and we simply walked out. I've never encountered such rude and unprofessional behavior, and it's clear that the staff here is only interested in making things hard for customers instead of providing a pleasant dining experience. We'll take our business elsewhere to places that actually know how to treat patrons with respect. I will never return to any of their locations again. If you want to be treated like an inconvenience, this is the place for you. read more

They tried to trick you thinking you're getting big portions by filling up the plate with garden salad. You're getting overpriced mid food. Don't let the colorful pancakes and waffles fool you. I had the pleasure of dining at Madres in Whittier today, and it was a wonderful experience. The ambience was warm and welcoming, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. I was excited to try their wide selection of lattes and coffees, so I ordered the coffee flight. It included the Horchata Latte, Abuelita Latte, and Pistachio Latte, and all three were absolutely delicious. The only downside is that you can only select three out of four specific flavors for the flight with hot drinks, but they also offer four different flavors if you opt for cold drinks instead. For my meal, I ordered the Chilaquiles, which were incredibly flavorful, and the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all. I also had a pancake on the side, which was light, fluffy, and a perfect complement to the meal. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would highly recommend Madres for anyone looking for great food and a cozy atmosphere. read more

Excellent experience, our server Natalie made sure we were attended properly. The Journey pancakes are out of this world, a gotta have it. If you like strawberries then this is for you. They topping will gladly flow once the silver cylinder is lifted to expose the strawberry syrup with its crumbs. The green chilequiles is the most creative presentation is just as excellent as the taste..a must try!!! It does come with one egg, but two would be so much better. As for the scoop of guacamole, it adds a delicate touch to the mountain of green-chilli-tortillas with a delicious taste of its natural tangy-flavor, but very suttle. The chicken is just right and gives it a flavor to enjoy the surrounding spices and the topped queso cotija that drizzled the plate. Waffles are very big and super delicious. They serve 2 with the drizzle of chocolate and our son got a small scoop of chocolate ice cream. Very fluffy and moist from the sweet ingredients on top. A must-try, for sure. read more

Located conveniently close to the freeway, Madres Brunch in Riverside, California, offers ample and well-maintained parking--a promising start to our morning. Upon our early arrival, we were greeted by the pristine condition of the restaurant, though the interior was notably chilly with fans that might have been more suitable for a warmer day. The staff extended a warm welcome that contrasted the cool atmosphere, accompanying their friendliness with an order of delightful coffees that provided a much-needed morning pick-me-up. However, the main event-- the food, did not quite match the high standard set by the venue and its staff. The dishes, while presented neatly, and very insta-grammable, lacked the vibrant flavors and complexity one would hope to find in a trendy brunch setting, leaving us somewhat underwhelmed. Madres Brunch shines in its service and cleanliness, but there's room for improvement on the culinary front to make it a well-rounded dining experience. read more
