Came in for a birthday, we had a large party and we were sat very quickly. Cari was our waitress and she was amazing. She was very sweet and helpful. The food was amazing, I would highly recommend the coffee flight. Only reason I am not giving five stars is while we were enjoying our food one of the ladies was constantly lurking over our table to take our plates, even when we weren't done eating. read more

Overrated. Here's the details: 1) Took way too long to get food. Was waiting for 30 minutes to get French toast when placed our order as soon as we sat down. 2) ordered latte and mimosas. Mimosa is hard to screw up but latte was 95% milk and 5% coffee. 3) chilaquiles verde was really bland. Service was good. But that's it. Won't come back. read more

Saw this intriguing coffee flight and I had to try it. Food was actually really good! Got the one sandwich and wow!! it was such a big sandwich and very tasty. My friend got the Chilaquiles. The pistachios latte was amazing but I love pistachios. The flight was really good! Server was quick and attentive. Ambiance was okay. I would go back so I can try the pancakes. read more

We were looking for a brunch location on a surprise kidless weekend. After considering a number of options, we decided to stay close to home and try this place. First - know this place gets crowded. If possible, get on the waitlist early to avoid waiting outside the location. Though in my case, delaying the disappointment might've been the best option. The service staff was VERY good. I will rave about this, the waitress who helped us (Natalie) was very present taking care of us. She was a rockstar, and really did try to make the experience better. The girlfriend opted for the special mimosa flight (Green Apple, Pomegranate and Tiffany). This option came with sugar rimmed glasses matching the color of each drink, which was a nice touch. The flavors were all very pleasant, though the girlfriend remarked the green apple wasn't as tart as she expected. For entrees, she got the salmon toast and I got the On Fire waffle. Her salmon toast was a generous portion, with two large French bread slices covered with avocado, capers, and of course, salmon. The plate also had a spring salad with the Madras sauce (a vinaigrette dressing). She was pleased with the toast, though she did need an extra helping of the madras sauce for her toast. My waffle was a little different story. The description of it was fantastic - two waffles, Carmel drizzle, ice cream, marshmallows with a brandy sauce set ablaze (the on fire part). The brandy portion was spectacular. The rest of the waffle fell very short of that bar. The main issue with the waffles was the burnt marshmallow taste overpowered most of the dish. Additionally, you wind up with a very dry second waffle - there definitely was not enough of any of the toppings to flavor that second one. The waitress did offer a replacement option, which I declined as I mostly felt bad sending the meal back for something else. That's said, very unlikely I'll eat here again, much less give the waffles a second shot. Overall, the experience wasn't bad exactly. It just wasn't good either. Most places, I can come away with something redeeming about it to make a second visit possible. In this case, I just can't find that redemption here. Expensive for what it was, and fairly underwhelming. Might try again with a different entree but it seems very unlikely. read more

This place is so good! My friends and I wanted brunch on a Wednesday morning and this place delivered. The ambiance is super cute; there are neon signs on the wall and I dig the pink vibe with the upbeat party music they play. Service was quick and the waiters were very attentive. The food was also amazing: I got The Hazel which had chocolate ice cream and Nutella, my friend got The Pistachio, and my other friend got eggs and hash browns. All the food was good and the portion sizes were appropriate. I also liked their hot chocolate and my friend liked her matcha latte (they can make them with non-dairy milk). First time at Madres Brunch, and we'll definitely be back. Carissia was an excellent server. The food came out fairly quickly, and when it came out, wow, awesome flavors. The birria chilaquiles were amazing, some of the best ever. The birria Benedict was cooked to perfection, the eggs perfectly pillowy with a delicious runny center. They were quick to seat us and the staff was very friendly. Most of the food was good, one was delicious and my dish was horrible. Photos misleading. Food all came out at different times and the last dish came out when more than half the table was nearly done eating. Café de la olla was delicious and the champurrado was really good. I enjoyed the taste of the masa but others found it gross. The red sauce for the chilaquiles was the best. Mole is sweet and not what we're used to eat but still good. It was a nice place overall but would not return to this location, will try the other location near me. read more

The food is absolutely amazing. We got the OnFire waffles and Madre Chilaquiles and they did not disappoint! Portions are very big so order accordingly! We looked around prior to ordering and everyone seemed to be enjoying all the different dishes. They do have something for everyone's taste. I had been wanting to try this place for a few months now and I'm glad I finally tried it out. Their menu is a kind of limited as far as options but that is a good thing in my opinion because I get overwhelmed with too many options. One suggestion however is to please offer kid options as kids don't usually eat a full plate. Also maybe offer some sides with the entrees, my omelette I ordered was amazing but I wish it would of come with a side of hash browns or even a pancake. Besides that we all really enjoyed our meals and the service was up to par. The decor is very cute and girly if you're into aesthetics. I hope this restaurant can remain open for years to come. read more

This place is so cute! The food was delicious. They serve you a good portion so if you don't eat a lot you could probably share. Must try the flight of coffees; yummy! I also got a hot horchata latte and I couldn't stop drinking it because it was so good. I wish I knew my female waiters name she was so nice. She provided great service. From giving her suggestions to checking on us regularly. I had a party of 13 and occasionally it's hard with big parties but not here. We all got served at the same time. Got seated very fast! Give this place a try you won't regret it! read more

Very confusing one door doesn't even say this isn't entrance you have to keep walking and realize hostess is outside. On the other side there is another door where it actually says not an entrance . We got sat rather quickly upon arrival. When we sat down our waitress didn't even ask if it was our first time and like didn't give us much time to decide on drinks I did say I wanted coffee flight and she explained the sweet one but I didn't even know there was a regular coffee flight on menu. I ended up ordered a blended latte later and they charge $1 to blend . I ordered a plate of fruits with my order the blueberry had mold. I will include in the pictures. When we finished our coffee flight we realized the water we ordered never came to table we had to find our waiter to remind because she would never come to the table to ask how things are going or nothing. Definitely not a place that focuses on customer service whatsoever . Both dishes for myself and my guest weren't brought out at the same time or nothing was acknowledged when my dish got brought out, like oh your friends dish will be out soon or nothing we just waited quite a bit for her dish to come out . The mazapan latte was good but very sweet. And the divorciados were good I can't complain! Just wish the waitress would have been more hospital and overall checked in on us during service . read more

We went there for a birthday brunch last weekend. They brought just a birthday waffle and set it on fire on the side so it was pretty special and tasty! Think of a s'mores likes waffle minus the chocolate

Sadly, no. There is a restaurant in Monrovia and Covina that serves Cafe de Olla. Fonda Don Chon and Cafe De Olla restaurant in Monrovia. Very delicious!

[Atmosphere]: Super crowded on Sunday & I was not able to find a place to sit. I ultimately ordered my breakfast burrito to-go. They also have a section of cafe that sell vintage clothing. [Menu]: For the signature breakfast burrito, they actually have 6 options - classic breakfast burritos (bacon - $16.50), Prime Steak (grass-fed prime steak $20.50), the Ultimate Burrito (grass-fed prime steak + avocado + bacon), Chilaquiles ($15.50), Chorizo ($16.00), and Vegan ($16.00). They also sell their cold brew cafe de olla in giant plastic bags that look like IV drip bags at the refrigerated section. I visited this restaurant for brunch on Thursday around 10:30am, and it was pouring rain. The left side of the restaurant was completely empty with about 10-12 open tables. There was no wait, and we were seated at the first table right by the entrance. We politely asked the lady at the front if we could move to a different table, and she was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying "NO" without any explanation. Our waitress, on the other hand, was much nicer and offered to move us to a different table, which was the one we had originally asked about. But then, the so-called "manager" came over, told the waitress we had to move, and insisted we couldn't stay there, even though there was plenty of space and no wait. It felt like the manager was just being difficult and making a point to be rude for no reason. The table could easily accommodate us, yet we were being treated like we were inconveniencing them. At that point, we had enough of the awful service, and we simply walked out. I've never encountered such rude and unprofessional behavior, and it's clear that the staff here is only interested in making things hard for customers instead of providing a pleasant dining experience. We'll take our business elsewhere to places that actually know how to treat patrons with respect. I will never return to any of their locations again. If you want to be treated like an inconvenience, this is the place for you. read more

I had high hopes for Madres Brunch, but my experience was incredibly disappointing. First off, the service was abysmal. Once seated, it took 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge us and take our drink orders. The food was another letdown. I ordered the birria Benedict and let's say it was mid at the very least. They tried to trick you thinking you're getting big portions by filling up the plate with garden salad. You're getting overpriced mid food. Don't let the colorful pancakes and waffles fool you. Food coloring was used to achieve the color. Additionally, the ambiance left much to be desired. The restaurant was loud and cramped, making it hard to have a conversation. The tables were so close together that it felt like we were dining with strangers. All I heard was techno music...uhtz, uhtz, uhtz. Is this a rave or a food establishment? Overall, Madres Brunch was a huge disappointment. Poor service, mediocre food, and an unpleasant atmosphere mean I won't be coming back. Save your money and try somewhere else. I had the pleasure of dining at Madres in Whittier today, and it was a wonderful experience. The ambience was warm and welcoming, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. I was excited to try their wide selection of lattes and coffees, so I ordered the coffee flight. It included the Horchata Latte, Abuelita Latte, and Pistachio Latte, and all three were absolutely delicious. The only downside is that you can only select three out of four specific flavors for the flight with hot drinks, but they also offer four different flavors if you opt for cold drinks instead. For my meal, I ordered the Chilaquiles, which were incredibly flavorful, and the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all. I also had a pancake on the side, which was light, fluffy, and a perfect complement to the meal. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed. They topping will gladly flow once the silver cylinder is lifted to expose the strawberry syrup with its crumbs. The green chilequiles is the most creative presentation is just as excellent as the taste..a must try!!! It does come with one egg, but two would be so much better. As for the scoop of guacamole, it adds a delicate touch to the mountain of green-chilli-tortillas with a delicious taste of its natural tangy-flavor, but very suttle.
