Paper thin omelette...Inside it was full of good things I ordered but the eggs were too watered down or egg beaters perhaps... inside the sausage mushrooms, Swiss cheese was plentiful, but the egg was so paper thin & cooked separately and it wouldn't hold it all together. It's a small town diner vibe, coffee was fine and service good. Seems the Locals were happy to be chatting and enjoying the place.

Rating: 4.5 Was going down to North Kingston area so we stopped by this local breakfast place on the way. Parking is available on the plaza. It's a small local family owned establishment with some history. Outside was decorated with some halloween decorations for the season. Inside has a counter for pastries and baked goods and waiting area and few seatings. When we got there it was busy so we had to wait about 20 minutes or so. Once we got seated we ordered the corn beef hash benedict and sweet potato corn beef hash Benedict and side of Johnny cake. The benedict was excellent. Perfectly cooked egg and generous hollandaise sauce pair well with home fries (side order). I wanted to try Johnny cake since i've never had them so i decided to get one to share with. Apparently it's a Rhode island thing and it's a pancake made with cornmeal. I tried it plain and with maple syrup. It's crispy on the outside which was nice the flavor was ok for me. I think it pairs better with savory stuff. It's nice we tried it but was not my favorite. Only down side was that the water i got tasted weird. My partner's water was fine. Not sure what happened. Maybe stick to coffee . I only didn't because we already had one before coming. The service was excellent and feels very homey. There were a-lot of regulars and everyone was very nice. Saw some little girl interacting with staff members showing her drawings and older ladies come in and people giving up their seat or offering extra seat while they wait to be seated. The service here is probably the one if best i've seen in restaurants. Overall the place was great and i would come back. This place made it on one of the top breakfast spot in RI for me. Only issue is the location is a bit far from me. I would stop by when i'm around the area.

Decided to try a new breaky spot on our way south to the park~ This spot was easy to spot, and right at an intersection. Noticed how the staff were so friendly and they had lots of locals and regulars. Every greeting was kind to the regulars and new comers. We had a 15 minute wait, and there was limited seating inside but some outside seats to wait. We waited inside standing but noticed that when a person was called, the staff were keeping track on who was waiting outside and who was inside. They went all the way to a persons car to let them know their spot was called for a table. Tables were limited, and the space is small. Apparently it's called after a families grandmother, Mae's! Got some counter seats which was great, and ordered right away~ the wait for our meals was on the longer side. It was like 15mins, but again, service was kind. I ordered a fall special of sweet potato corn beef hash Benedict with a side of fruit~ I was delighted with the portion size! It's a plus for me because I barely finish most breakfast dishes. The sweet potato taste is present, but not overwhelming ~ it's subtle but present in every bite. My egg was well poached through, which is great for me because I prefer a less messy forkful~ As a Rhode Island local, I've never heard of a Johnny cake, and I was very delighted to have it! It was small and crispy~ not sweet, but has that corn meal taste without the heaviness. Some syrup topping, and it's perfect. I prefer better to a pancake! One of my favorite breakfast spots!

We decided to try this place out over Labor Day weekend. It was busy around brunch time, and our wait was about 20 minutes - clearly, it is a local favorite. The diner itself is pretty small indoors, but some outdoor seating is also available when the weather permits. The breakfast burrito with a side of fresh fruit was a good choice - they add hash browns in the burrito, which I found to be extra delicious, and my only regret was that I didn't order guac with it. The french toast was plated very well, and tasted pretty good. Overall, a solid breakfast/ brunch place that we'd return to again.

After I got a sandwich at Shayna's Place, I was craving a muffin and I saw Mae's Place on my way to Shayna's. I was so excited when I saw a bunch of enormous muffins on their shelves behind the counter ! I got a huge blueberry muffin ($3.77 w/ tax). They asked me if I wanted it heated and of course I said yes. They cut it in half and grilled it in butter, creating a crunch before getting to the soft inside filled with an adequate amount of blueberries. It's a tiny place so I was able to see everyone's food and I gotta eat a meal here soon.

Great breakfast before getting on the road! Amazing service! Delicious food, fun environment. My first time trying coffee milk...not bad. Smoked Gouda brisket Benedict, just wow. I'd eat here every day.

This is a quaint little Cozy spot with courteous and professional staff. My friend and I sat at the bar. He had the Weiners and I had Corned Beef Hash Benedict. The food was tasty. A great Diner Spot for Breakfast and Lunch if your close by.

Right next to the Tapatio Mexican restaurant so we decided to try it out... glad we did! Jackie was amazing and the food was delicious! This is definitely a locals place but they are welcoming of new people like my husband and I. Loved the vibe here, the food was amazing and service was excellent! We will definitely come back and we noticed it is a popular place so get there early and they close at 2 pm and are not open on Tuesdays.

    BLT with Curly Fries

Stopped by on a whim after visiting the Farmer's Market and BOY WAS I BLOWN AWAY!! It is an unassuming cute, mom and pop restaurant and it was bustling with people. There was a bit of a wait, but we were seated within 20 mins. Our waitress was a kind blonde woman that was so welcoming and patient with us. I got the BLT on a toasted white bread with curly fries and my husband got the biscuit and gravy with sunny side up eggs and hash browns. We got our food fairly quickly and it was served piping hot!! Which is honestly unheard of for breakfast type food. And the amount of curly fries that I got? I was shocked!! My dish was like $8! In this economy, it was a breath of fresh air, from the homey vibes, the service, and excellent and freshly made food. Definitely deserving of a 5 star review! Also to note, when it was time to pay, our waitress rang us up and when it came time to tip, she said if we want to we can, or not.. that shocked us both as tipping culture has gotten out of hand lately... I hope the owner reads my review and give their awesome team a pat on the back!

A warning- if you dont like honest reviews of deliciousness on a Saturday morning, please scroll on by. I wish I was able to take a photo of my breakfast from Mae's Place this morning, but quite frankly- it was so yummy, I gobbled it up without even blinking. A Valentine's Day special, i saw the menu posted on their Instagram with some photos, so I ordered the Bacon and Latke Eggs Benedict with a side of fruit and a cawfee to go. I live about 6-8 minutes away from Mae's, and let me tell you- I drooled the whole ride home. The smell of fresh latkes and coffee swirling around my car, I couldn't wait to tear into that breakfast. It was so good. The eggs were made to my liking, the bacon crunchy, the latkes seasoned and yum.... It also helps that when I call to put my order in, "Miss Fabulous" herself; Jackie, answers with "Hiiiiiii Areiiiinnnaaaa" when she picks up the phone to take my order Do yourselves a favor this weekend, treat yourself right and get some eggs Bennie from Mae's. Call up Jackie and let her know I sent ya. Happy Saturday North Kingstown. Go be great today

The weather was nice, so we chose to sit out back under the lovely umbrellas and look over the water. They also have adirondack chairs set out, so I imagine it would be a lovely spot for a cocktail and a chat with friends! Our server, Lena, was a DREAM and helped us make our choices. I got a seasonal latte while my partner got the medium-roast pourover coffee. Having had a hard time finding really great coffee recently, we were soooo impressed. They clearly take their coffee program seriously (and now I realize the name should have tipped me off!). The food was equally impressive. It legitimately didn't have to be as good as it was (lol). The yogurt bowl on any menu is usually "meh," but we gave it a try since we wanted some non-meat protein and I am SO glad we did. It was the best yogurt bowl I've ever had- no contest. The whole milk yogurt was creamy; the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries were ripe; the honey and granola added crunch and some floral sweetness; and the best part was the raspberry preserves they pipe on top. I wish I could recreate this at home! We also loved the lemon poppyseed loaf with blueberry preserves and cream. Another quick brunch addition that could have been simple, but had so much thought put into the flavors. Overall, a big fan and I'll be back!

We asked to sit outside and were stunned by the epic views of the docks that they have. It truly was a breathtaking sight. My only gripe was that it wasn't as shaded (either naturally or by awnings) as I thought it would be which made for a warm experience. However, the staff were great about accommodating any requests to move with some of the available tables they did have. Also, though no fault of their own I kept getting some septic smells in the breeze. It was faint and not all the time but definitely not something you want while having lunch- hopefully whichever business owner or home owner having that issue can get that cleared up. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the fish and chips. Our food came out quickly and everything looked good! Their mango coleslaw is unique but tasty. The fish was nice and flaky with a crispy batter. I found it to be a little greasy but nothing too worrying. Overall, a great meal to have by the water. I think Wickford on the Water is a great spot and one that anyone should try when they take a trip down to North Kingstown!
