The menu structure was different, as they're now highlighting more than just Italian classics. They are pushing other cuisines like steak, salmon, and chicken. Oh, and they also have new bread! Just okay for me... usually expected with an Italian chain, yeah? I had calamari, branzino, and crème brûlée. All were, unfortunately, just okay. Not great. Not bad. If you're hungry, you can eat it. It's not flavorless (well... the asparagus was ). The sauce helped, for sure. There were a lot of tentacles in the calamari and very few rings. That was consistent across the three orders of calamari at a table of 11. Mostly tentacles. Womp womp. No great flavor there, either... the marinara helped. And the crème brûlée... you get plenty, but it's not special. I do appreciate that it's not a deep crème brûlée... so there's a good crunch to custard ratio. Other than that? Meh. Since it was Valentine's Day, we made a reservation a couple weeks prior, but had to wait 10-15 minutes before we were seated. The restaurant was nicely decorated with red, heart balloons and each table had a small light on it, except for ours. The music at the restaurant was Frank Sinatra. We were given water to start for our drinks along with soft rolls that came with salted whipped butter. The rolls were a nice soft texture reminiscent of a soft pretzel. The butter complemented them nicely. I started with a moscato that was nice and sweet, my wife had a long Island ice tea that she enjoyed. For the appetizer, we shared the Parmesan stuffed and toasted baby Bella mushrooms. I forgot to take a picture before putting my share on my plate. However, they were nice and tender and the cheese was nice, soft, savory and creamy with a small crispy bit from the toasting. We both enjoyed them. For the main course, my wife enjoyed lobster carbonara and I had their mushroom ravioli. She said she enjoyed the carbonara, but they gave her so much that she needed to box up half of it. I definitely enjoyed my mushroom ravioli. The sauce was a creamy brown sauce with small button mushrooms that wasted as if they had been sautéed in wine. The ravioli was tender and had a nice savory cheese in each one. For dessert, my wife had the New York cheesecake with strawberries and I had their mushroom ravioli lemon cookies. My wife loved the cheesecake, it was creamy and rich and the berries gave it a nice sweet tang to it. The lemon cookies were lightly frosted and reminded me of light and soft lemon shortbread. I thought they were the perfect finish to an otherwise heavy meal. All in all, it was a positive experience and our server, Chris, was very friendly and professional. We had a delicious dinner before sporting event here - reservations were easy to make online. Plenty of parking for the restaurant. Loved the ambiance and low lights - felt like a fancy meal! Service was excellent - we started with the crispy mozzarella - large rectangular with a great crispy exterior and cheese pull. Came served with marinara sauce and ranch, I think. We split the individual Caesar salad ($9), which was crisp and fresh. For our mains, we ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken ($26.50) and chicken piccata ($26). Everything was hot and fresh - Alfredo was a huge portion, which my daughter loved. Very traditional and the chicken was moist and delicious. The piccata was tart and equally tasty. Maggianos has changed since my last visit. I know that Maggianos is a chain but I never had the "chain restaurant " feel at this restaurant before, until this visit. First, the crusty Italian bread is gone. The bread and dipping oil was special. It has been replaced by sweet rolls with butter, no oil. Three of us ordered the eggplant but there was more breading than eggplant. There wasn't much sauce. When we requested Parmesan the server brought powdered Parmesan and set it on the table. We were expecting the server to provide table side fresh grated cheese over our entrees like in past visits but I guess this has changed as well. Overall the service was average, but it wasn't the same level of exceptional service that we used to receive here. There was a lady who was waiting for the rest of her party talking LOUDLY on her cell phone for several minutes. It seems that the manager or hostess would have asked her to please step outside until she finished her call. Very annoying and disruptive to the ambiance. Stopped by after not having visited in over a year. The good: The cocktail menu is great; you should definitely try the cranberry martini, the spirtz drink, and the margarita- these are phenomenal. Also try the calamari as an appetizer- it's so good. Our waitress, Whitney, was great. She was super sweet and recommended some great cocktails! The butter cake is DIVINE. The bad: everything else. They have changed to bread to be more like rolls instead of the rustic bread and oil which was pretty disappointing. The steak was tough and undercooked (which is crazy) and I would avoid ordering it. The "mashed potatoes" were also bad, and hardly even mashed. I had a potato piece that was huge. The "crispy" potatoes were also very soggy. The fettuccine Alfredo was also pretty bad, there wad almost NO Alfredo sauce and only butter. I made advanced reservations for 6pm and we dined, laughed and sang three times HBD with the candles in the meatballs, rigatoni and with the lemon cookie and homemade ice cream dessert!! Last night 7/11/25, I just celebrated my daughter's 12th birthday at Maggiano's, and I genuinely wish I could give them 10 stars - they absolutely earned every single one and more! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make her feel celebrated. They greeted her with a huge smile and birthday wishes, and the energy was just so warm and welcoming. Our server Dan the Man, was phenomenal - attentive, kind, and completely on top of everything. You could tell they cared about making our night special. I made advanced reservations request for a chef to personally greet her before ordering and Chef Jamie's presentation was unforgettable. It made my daughter excited to dive into the delicious Cheese Flatbread Pizza and Buttered Rigatoni even more! The food was exactly what you'd hope for: delicious, comforting, and crowd-pleasing. Immediately ordered the Wagyu Italian Meatballs with fresh whipped Ricotta. Plus, adults couldn't stop drooling about the fresh hot baked bread with whipped butter. Next was the delicious Italian chopped salad and the show-stopper Lobster Carbonara. Everything came out hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Oh - the birthday girl devoured 4 baskets of the warm bread and olive oil. So simple, so good. But what truly put it over the top? The birthday surprise! At the end of the meal, the staff brought out a beautifully plated dessert with a candle, homemade Vanilla Bran ice cream with lemon cookies and whipped cream. How things have changed! We haven't been to Maggiano's in a while. Lots of things were different. New bread, kind of sweet, served with butter, not olive oil. No Parmesan or salt and pepper on the table. Have to ask for it. The fried mozzarella appetizer was different, bigger hunks of cheese rather than the smaller triangles. Fried zucchini was the same. My daughter said the Alfredo sauce tasted different. The red sauce is the same and delicious! Desserts were great. The worst part-several servers that weren't busy stood behind us and chatted loudly. What a great experience I had here. I'm a huge fan of Italian food so I knew this was gonna be a good time for my taste buds. A big salad bowl to share, 2 appetizers, 4 entrees & a dessert sampler for a set price ( $37 per person). We started with a big Caesar salad. Everyone enjoyed it. Lettuce was cold & crisp & the dressing tasty. There was also plenty of it. Next for our 2 appetizers we chose meatballs & mozzarella marina. We all agreed both were delicious. The meatballs were tender & flavorful. The mozzarella marina was tasty as well. The breading was good as was the cheese & marina. Then even though we were getting full it was time for the entrees. Everyone thought the chicken parm & spaghetti & meatballs were great. Cooked exactly right. The piccata while good could have used more lemon flavor however it was breaded & cooked nicely. Their fettuccine Alfredo is ok. Granted because I make my own sauce my wonderful wife & I are spoiled but it's needs to be smoother with more flavorful sauce. My beautiful bride also loves their vesuvio potatoes so we ordered a side of them. They were not as crunchy as usual & a bit soggy. Over still good but not what she has come to expect. Those however are minor issues. We were stuffed but then it was time for the dessert sampler. My apologies for not getting a pic of it but it was great. I came in for lunch just before 3. Sean was my server and everything started out great. He has a great personality. I ordered the shrimp alfredo and everything was perfect until I found a hair in the food. They took it back and it was remade. The chef brought out the remake which I thought was rather fast seeing as though the first one took a minute. I checked it and it was all good of hairs and then she walked away. When I actually tasted it, the noodles were chewy as if they hadn't been cooked long enough (this explains why it came out so fast) I told Sean and he stated "That's ok, that'll be someone else's problem to deal with, won't be me!" He said this in a joking manner as he was walking away, but then nobody came over to "deal with the problem" Eventually after about 5 or so minutes passed, he simply placed the check at the literal opposite end of the table and gave me a dessert menu which the manager said he'd buy after I found hair in my food. Reluctantly I just went ahead and paid the bill because I was just ready to go at that point and didn't want to have to continue to wait for someone to come over and talk about the chewy noodles. As stated before, Sean was great...initially. Once I found the hair, he started being less attentive and not checking in as much. He did get some more tables, but he was still having full on conversations with all his other tables and would simply just walk past me. My water was empty several times and had to ask others for more water due to his neglect. I'm a server/ bartender in the service industry and have been since 2018. Because of this, I'm very patient and understanding because I know how things can be, but this was just overall a bad experience. No one even said anything to me as I was leaving and there were 4 people standing there. I don't frequent here and this experience definitely doesn't make me want to come back. read more

We visited Maggiano's for the first time on a Friday for lunch; the restaurant was fairly open and we were seated right away. Service was slow once we were sat, but fortunately we weren't in a hurry. Once we ordered, the food came out fast and was fantastic - zero complaints about portion size or quality. We started with the fried zucchini, which was cut length-wise and had a really crispy panko style breading. This was absolutely delicious and unusual to see on an appetizer menu. Would come back just for the zucchini. We ordered two entrees, the ravioli and the rigatoni, as well as two entrees to go for an extra $6 each (a steal!). Both dishes were large portions, and both had excellent sauces and flavor. We'll definitely return to Maggiano's next time we're in Indy, we loved it. Maggianos has been on our radar for quite some time, but given we rarely get to Indy (the closest location to us), we had not had the pleasure. We were gifted some cards to Maggianos, so we decided Indy was the place to stay over new years so we could give it a try. The hostess asked if it were our first time while directing us to our booth, and I replied that it was. The white linen tablecloths and rich looking upholstery set the mood for a romantic lunch. Our server, LaChaee, was quick to come and take drink orders. We had already decided we would not be getting an appetizer, so we went ahead and placed our order. We both ordered the chicken parm with Alfredo as a side. We also ordered the Caesar salad. Bread was brought to our table and it was delicious. LaChaee came to inform us that the chef was preparing a free appetizer for us. No reason given. I suspect they do this for all first time customers. But that is only a suspicion. Within a few minutes, the sous-chef came to the table with something we have not been able to locate in the menu. It was toasted breaded with a sweet cream cheese topping and normally served with a slice of tomato on top. Given my food allergy to uncooked tomatoes, he had substituted a black olive for the tomato on mine. They were akin to Tapas and were delicious. The salad had a good taste, but we felt that it could use a little more dressing. But that didn't stop us from cleaning the bowl. I will order extra dressing next time, if possible. Our entrees arrived right as we were finishing the salads. The Chicken Parm is two large pieces of chicken (mine had three given that two were smaller than the norm) and it's served with pasta covered in marinara. LaChaee informed us that we could change it out for different sauces, so we did choose the Alfredo. The chicken was tender. Oh. So. Tender. And the Alfredo?? Perfection! Creamy and just the right amount of sauce. Not one bite went to waste. Our plates were cleaned once finished. I cannot wait to return. Very impressed. Absolutely wonderful dinner at Maggiano's!! I've not been in several years despite now living Just a few minutes away! Same excellent food and experience as I remembered. Quaint little table in the bar area, excellent ambience, fantastic service from James and perfect meals & drinks! It was just an all-around great experience! Plenty large portions so we had some to take home. Definitely shareable if you are dining with others, so recommend splitting if you want a manageable portion. They also offer a great option of a classic pasta dish to go for just $6--for a full dinner portion. Definitely recommend visiting if you are visiting the Indianapolis/Keystone area or even if you live just up the street going for a late-night dinner!
