the biscuits and gravy is very good 10/10 but everything else on the menu is very bad! the service is meh, rude to their coworkers. loud mouth talking about customers, and ive hear they are homophobic/racist although ive never had them treat me badly ive witnessed it multiple times!! the place is usually dirty aswell ceiling tiles are brown from nicotine and the carpets are dirty, tables are not usually clean enough. im not usually the type too complain but what can i say.. do better maggies cafe! my expirience 7/10 read more

Maggie's is a great place to grab a meal. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is good, and the kitchen will get your order out so fast your head will spin! The place doesn't get overly crowded or loud, so it's a great place to have an informal work meeting or a meetup with friends. read more

Great friendly service & good food. Love their Country Omelet, Parisian French Toast & Monti Cristo Sandwich. Gave them four stars rather than five only because of the credit card fee they up charge & pass off to their customers. In this day and age when most people pay with another form of currency other than cash, this seems archaic & greedy. They do enough business to easily offset that small fee that most business establishments gladly pay for the convenience of their customers. I know, because I once owned a small business. I would much rather leave a bigger tip to their servers than pay that up charge. read more

2 STARS- Fair Small businesses, especially local restaurants, are always a favorite of mine. Usually, these establishments offer food of a home cooked quality and excellent customer service. Sometimes, though, as in the case of Maggie's, the small town attitude of these places becomes fetid, developing into a close-minded atmosphere in which new patrons are unwelcome. Maggie's Cafe is a cute diner, nestled in the heart of downtown Bedford. The surrounding neighborhood is quaint and beautiful- one can often find families strolling down the sidewalk, waving to each other like in a '50s sitcom. The inside is less picturesque- the walls are covered in kitschy memorabilia and plaques inscribed with country wisdom. My favorite touch is the ceiling tiles- some of the ceiling tiles have been removed and replaced by plastic tiles inscribed with advertisements for local businesses. Dolls and stuffed animals are displayed, but many of them are covered in dust. Part of the restaurant was once used as a smoking section, and the musty smell of smoke still lingers. As you are seated, the waitress immediately asks for a drink order and leaves a menu with the table (I wonder if the menus are older than the establishment- they are all dingy and severally ripped). Service is tricky there- any visit can be met with speedy and friendly service, or slow and cranky staff. You find more luck if you are either a senior citizen or a loyal customer- newbies and sporadic patrons are easily ignored. As far as the food is concerned, Maggie's offers tasty classic diner food. The best dishes include the pancakes (plate sized and fluffy), the omelets (huge and stuffed with several filling options), and classic original hash browns. Other dishes there include biscuits and gravy, with a surprisingly good sausage gravy, and breakfast skillets, an amalgamation of hash browns, eggs, meat, and gravy. Lunches are good as well, including the fries, patty melts, and especially the gyro meat. However, the more challenging items leave much to be desired. The Country Fried Steak is floury and cake-like, and they're Sourdough French Toast is oily, eggy, and plastic. They're choice of ham is as salty as a salt lick, and don't ever asked for your eggs to be served poached. As for the dinner fair, I'd invest in a TV dinner before checking this place out. Overall, I would love to rate this restaurant as a 4 star establishment. It's a local business that serves extremely reasonably priced food and has made it's mark on the community. However, the close-minded atmosphere and the extreme simplicity of the menu leave me no choice but to rate this place a very weak 2. If you love the restaurant already, great- however, if you're new, expect to feel like your presence is little more wanted than a carnival side show. read more

My husband and I came arrived at Maggie's Cafe on Saturday - 03/18/2023 between the hours of 1230 -to 1 PM. We were seated and our beverage order was taken, and they arrived about 5 minutes later. We were looking at the menu to decide what we wanted and during this time frame two parties arrived and were seated - their beverage order was taken. We continued to wait for the wait staff to take our order instead of the wait staff taking our order the wait staff took the food orders of the two tables that arrived after us. During this time we were like okay what is going on and as I was looking for the wait staff I noticed looks and gestures from people in this establishment and I allegedly believe we were not waited on because we are gay and an interracial couple. So after 10 minutes of our order not being taken we decided to leave. I went to the register and informed the cashier that I needed to pay for a coffee and orange juice and that I did not have a check to give her. She said was the wait too long, I said no - two tables that came after us were served before us and that I believe allegedly that it was because of either the gay or interracial aspect she said no its not and you don't have to pay and to please come back. Maggie's is my favorite place for breakfast. I always enjoy taking new people there. I do not visit often enough to be considered a regular, and have always been happy with the service. The decor is tacky and dated, but I am willing to accept this for the generous portions, and low prices (3 people can eat a huge breakfast for under $20). I did try the veal cutlet one time, and was disappointed. I stick to breakfast, which is served all day. read more

Good fast food. Waitress is acting like a total b***h. I really couldn't care less if your having an "off day" I deal with attitudes all day, I don't come to pay to receive yours. I made multiple tries, getting louder each time to say "THANK YOU" for the refills that I had I ask for, and I get nothing. My entire visit I get answers like "yup" "Yeah" "uh huh". After receiving my main dish and she walked away leaving no room due to old plates, I started to put them on the table behind me, when she caught on, then she came to help. Not happy, Here's her tip. What an awesome place we had lunch at today. We were sat immediately. The restaurant was pretty full during the middle of the lunch rush. The customer service was great. Our food was out in less than 10 minutes and tasted awesome. I had the grilled chicken ranch wrap and it was unbeatable. Three lunches under 20 dollars. Okay so I'm usually not one to complain but here goes my review. This is probably one of the dreariest restaurants I have been to from the outdated decor to the lack of personality from our waitress. The ceiling tiles are brown with nicotine, the back section has poor lighting and it's just a very boring and sad atmosphere. Now the food, I got my hashbrowns and they were cold. The biscuits and gravy was watery. My younger brother had eggs, ham and hashbrowns no complaints until he got to work and started puking. Assuming it's a case of food poisoning. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for friendly service and a nice atmosphere. read more

I've never had a bad meal at Maggie's the few times I've been there. I loved the chef salad when I ate there, full of cheese, turkey, ham, eggs, cucumbers and great hot pita bread. When I ordered the chef salad for take out and got back to work to eat it I was pleased to see all the goodies on top- but when I went to mix it up there was hardly any lettuce and it was brown and wilted. What a disappointment, my first thought was that ( well it was to go so I wouldn't send it back) and that they hid it well with the goodies.
