We had an awesome waitress. I wish I could remember her name because she was just COOL. Not too over the top, but just genuinely nice. The manager also stopped over to say hello and see how the food was. That's when we told him were were from out of state and we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. We had NO CLUE they give you a free birthday entree. What an awesome surprise! I had the crabcake sandwich. My fiance had the Blackened Swordfish. We both enjoyed out entrees immensely. When we were finished eating, out waitress offered to take a picture of us in front of the river. If we are ever in Toledo again, I will make sure we return. I can't say enough good things about this place and the staff. Thank you!!

You now are "upgraded" to one complimentary entree. It's not an upgrade to allow steak or crab. Originally you received 50% off the bill and a complimentary dessert. Getting comps encouraged us to spend; drinks, apps, meals, extras, no worry. Our bill was easily $100-$200 for two. We left today spending less than $80. How is this good business? It's sad what was a birthday experience once a full on splurge, is just a dinner out. Is this good business?

Our server was so sweet, I wish I remembered her name. She was very accommodating and kind to my baby. She was knowledgeable and did everything in a timely manner. I do wish she would've let me know my salad I asked for as an app could be included with my two sides though (at least that's what I thought.) All of the staff were very nice and I loved that there weren't people ready to clear our table. Such a nice touch! The inside was also super casual. Although casual, the food and dishes were fancy. I got chicken because I'm not a seafood lover and it did not disappoint, although a little dry. The sides were also fantastic and well-prepared. My baby even got a little prize at the end of our visit! Also want to add that there are two entrances/exits, we didn't know where we were going so we chose one the back one, they both go into the restaurant but the front is where the host stand is.

We tried them with all 3 sauces, honey mustard, ranch and bbq. I liked all of them! I don't eat seafood but my husband loves it! I had their chicken Alfredo which comes with salad and vegetable on the side, green beans. He ordered the tuna with baked potato. The Alfredo sauce has just the right amount of creaminess and not too heavy and the chicken was cooked really well, tender. Their service is always friendly and love the neighborhood feel.

So romantic and a great touch to the atmosphere. The food was great. I came with friends and I hope to come back soon with my husband and parents! The service was decent. I still find the retro historic ambiance charming- with its over-the-top velvet wallpaper, ornate chandeliers, and white tablecloths on each table. I don't believe any decor changes have been made over the decades. It's part of the restaurant's signature charm and I love it. It was a rather hot and humid day in Michigan and I immediately noticed that the AC wasn't keeping up with the heat. Still, it wasn't overly uncomfortable. Even with a 6pm reservation, the restaurant was very crowded, so I attributed the heat to the crowd and some of the sizzling plates, in addition to lack of adequate AC. . Our server greeted us promptly and told us about the specials of the night. She took our drink orders and came back to take our food orders. My friend ordered filet mignon with a baked potato, with a beef vegetable soup. I ordered the Halibut Special, broiled in butter with shiitake mushrooms and a baked potato plus a side of steamed asparagus to share. While awaiting our orders, we were served exactly two pieces of bread ("dirty bread"?!) and a basket of bread or pretzel sticks. The bread wasn't even warm and I didn't eat it further after one bite. That was okay because I was saving myself for the entree'. When our entrees arrived, they looked appetizing. Upon taking a bite of my Halibut, however,I was underwhelmed. It wasn't horrible in any way but didn't impress me as anything amazing or crave-worthy. The asparagus, imo, should have had the stalks cut down further to cut off the yellow parts of the bottoms. It was a decent sized portion though. My friend's filet mignon was "good" according to her, though no further enthusiasm. It was a pleasant enough dinner though it was rather loud and difficult to converse at times. Our server was polite, pleasant and efficient. Upon being served the check, (I was treating for my friend's birthday), I glanced at it but didn't study it. Later, I was surprised to see a petty surcharge of .50 each for sour cream for the two baked potatoes that were included in the entrees. There was also an upcharge I didn't recognize for some type of cheese? I just don't like being nickled and dimed, so it irritated me. I left the restaurant thinking that I wouldn't hurry back and that I would order a pasta dish. However, it's definitely worth checking out for the experience if you haven't tried this spot. It's very close to Toledo and there's plenty of free parking. Check out pics below!
