China Gourmet is your typical no-frills Chinese takeout restaurant. China Gourmet is located in an older shopping plaza at the corner of Dean Road and University Boulevard. The menu doesn't stray from the usual items that you would find on any Chinese takeout menu, but that's okay. These foods are popular for a reason and there is something comforting about eating something that I have enjoyed my whole life. I had the pork lo mein and it was okay. Typical type what I would expect from a Chinese takeout restaurant. No real complaints here overall. The service was fast enough and the food was decent enough.

I will give them 0 stars if I could. 1st they charged me 30.34 when it was supposed to be 25.28 and didn't want to give me a refund! 2nd The bourbon chicken looked like rat got disgusted and couldn't touch it!

I've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the UCF area and I'm so happy I found this one! All of the food was extremely hot a fresh not mention you get large portions and the price is super affordable! They have a contact less pick up and order system with a sliding door to put the food through. All of the staff was wearing face masks and gloves. They were also friendly! I would definitely recommend this place to others and will be coming back!!

Vegetable Low Mein, Egg Rolls, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Sesame Chicken!

We've been living near this place since the summer, the reviews discouraged us and we've been traveling to Winter Garden when we had a taste for Chinese! Well, the family wanted some Chinese, I didn't feel like traveling 30 minutes to Winter Garden, and we have China Gourmet a shot! We did combos for Vegetable Low Mein , Sweet and Sour Chicken and Sesame Chicken. I can honestly say everything tasted so good. The Egg-rolls reminded me of home in NY, everything was perfect! The only problem I had was the pork fried rice needed a little more flavor and they forgot to add Sesame Seeds. I can't speak for the other reviews, truthfully I was scared, but I can honestly say everything was good!

Do not eat here!! Found roaches and yellow crap in my rice!!! Horrible! Will not be ordering from here again.. When we called to tell them the problem, the women on the phone pretended not to speak English... Poor Food and Customer Service

The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are so good; but so was everything else. Prices are moderate, but well worth every penny. The setting is great, feels Asian but is quite comfortable for most Americans. The service was the only area that wasn't great. I'm giving them a pass because of the time of day we visited. The team was friendly and ready to help but had to be waved down when we needed things. Bottom line... we will return when we're in the area again!

We waited 15 more minutes (20 minutes from being seated) and we flagged down a server to take our order. Another party got tired of waiting and just left. The restaurant was only 30% full so there was no excuse for this. However the food came out in about 12 minutes after ordering which is not bad. The food was delicious! We got the house knife cut noodles, pan fried Peking duck buns, and the bok choy with garlic. Everything was excellent. The noodles were so tasty with the beef being the best. The boiled egg is a little odd but it was still good. The Peking duck buns were so good! I am convinced that the only reason this place is still in business is because the food is so good that it offsets the terrible service If you have a lot of time and don't mind waiting for your food. I definitely recommend trying this place. Other people had better luck with the service but I saw at least one other person say that the service was bad. The food is 5 star but the service is 2 star so I gave it a 4 overall.

The food did come out quick however, and funny enough, the appetizer came out last. Skip out on the chicken and garlic appetizer for sure. Our table didn't like it so we sent it back. I'd say get the lomein noodles with spice because that was definitely the best thing we had there. In terms of the protein, the beef was good but had some mint pieces in there that were completely off putting. The shrimp was a bit too sweet and the chicken green peppers (not photographed) were decent as well.

One entree works for about 2-3 people. I tried 3 dishes. My only feedback is the Dan Dan Noodles were not close to what I expected. This is my go-dish at Sichuan restaurants and these didn't have the flavor or texture. To make mine taste more flavorful I relied on adding some sauce from my fish entree to this. I'll come back as this place has such tasty food. The seating is good too and it's a good location!

Besides that I really loved the chee cheong fun with xo sauce and the fried shrimp balls. Maybe because we went on a Monday they didn't do the dim sum carts which I love. But then again, the restaurant isn't too big so I feel like they usually don't do the carts. But this is a way to ensure all the food you're getting is fresh though! I do wish the dim sum menu was a little more varied. I feel like a few staples that I normally gravitate towards weren't there. But there was still enough to have a good filling meal.

The BBQ meat combo plates are also delicious. The roasted duck and crispy pork is also delicious here. As you can tell from my order they have delicious food. The food here is consistent with the taste and flavors and this is why Tasty Wok imo is ranked #1 in Cantonese chinese eats here in Orlando. Customer service here is ok, But its what the taste of the food that matters so you tend to brush it off LOL. You can request hot chili oil because they tend to forget that when you pick up take out. Also the duck sauce they supply when you order roasted duck is delicious on rice and to dip meats in. I usually request that to dip my ducks, crispy pork skin and char siu. At this restaurant they sell it by the pound, right along side the hanging duck which is by the pound as well. They sell so many dishes that are well-loved, but I tend to get the soup. It's so nourishing and flavorful. Top tip for parking...you can park in the back, but there are many restaurants on the same aisle so you sometimes have to wait for people to leave.

These legends welcomed our whole crew with zero wait like it was just another Tuesday--talk about VIP service. Now let's talk food. First up, the tofu and veggie stir-fry--a glorious mix of crispy tofu cubes with perfectly sautéed broccoli, carrots, and bok choy in a savory brown sauce that hugged every bite like a warm hug from a Chinese grandma. The beef with broccoli? Tender, flavorful, and bathed in rich umami goodness. Honestly, if I could bottle that sauce, I'd put it on everything--maybe even my cereal (don't judge). The Honey Walnut Shrimp was love at first crunch. Perfectly crispy shrimp in a creamy, sweet glaze topped with candied walnuts and nestled on a bed of fresh steamed broccoli. This dish was the Beyoncé of the table--everyone wanted a piece. Those crispy, golden Shrimp Ball Fritters? Imagine a crunchy sea urchin made of joy. Light, airy, and addictive--basically the potato chip of appetizers. The pan-fried dumplings were thick, juicy, and had the perfect crispy sear. No sad, soggy dumplings here. Then came the crispy duck--dark, rich, and bursting with deep roasted flavor. It had that satisfying crunch you want, and the meat melted in your mouth. A must for meat lovers. But the real MVP? Those soup dumplings. Steamy little flavor bombs that explode in your mouth like a culinary fireworks show. Served in their own mini tins like royalty--juicy, delicate, and impossible to eat just one. The table went silent the second they landed. That's how you know it's real. With quick service, huge portions, and a menu that hits every craving from noodles to dumplings to sizzling plates of joy, Peter's Kitchen China Bistro was the unexpected gem we didn't know we needed. Cozy, authentic, and efficient--this place made our group dinner easy, delicious, and downright memorable.
