Magic Fountain never stops amazing me with all of their new flavors and the accuracy of those flavors. For example, I once went there planning to order the Butter Pecan, however, I saw that Magic Fountain was serving cucumber flavored ice cream. I asked for a sample expecting normal ice cream with maybe a hint of cucumber sprinkled in, but I was proven wrong. The cucumber ice cream was entirely cucumber flavored, and any one who likes cucumbers and ice cream would go nuts for that flavor. Every week, they seem to have new and unique flavors such as goat cheese and beets. Including those fun flavors, the ice cream is excellent and will not empty your wallet. read more

I love this place !! I always come here for ice cream whenever i'm visiting the North Fork area. Been coming here ever since I was a little kid, and the quality still stands to be amazing. My east end trip ended with a stop to Magic Fountain. Driving home from Greenport we stopped in and had to end the trip with some ice cream. Me and the wifey brought a 3 scoop ice cream cup. I have been coming here since I was in High School. I can remember driving my 1971 Nova SS with a shake gently placed between my legs as I worked through the gears with hopes that I would not have a spill back in 1982. The quality has not declned over the years. Carvel has come and gone from Mattituck but Majic Fountain still packs the parking lot. The flavor combinations are inspiring. Who knew you could make so many interesting flavors? If you are looking for a real venue without the Chain Store feel, then you have to experience this local gem. At the beginning of our tour through the vineyards we spotted this cute ice cream shop. When we passed it again after our final stop our poor bus driver heard the entire wine buzzed tour beg for ice cream like a bunch of school kids. It was well worth the stop. We could believe how fast the girls behind the counter buzzed through the line. I got the black raspberry soft serve; I didn't even care that a small was three fifty. Though for the price it was a decent sized serving. The ice cream was light and airy. And although I finished the huge serving I didn't have brain freeze or that dull ache you get in your belly when you stuff yourself with ice cream. My friend had the coconut avocado; I tried some and I surprisingly liked it. Maybe the next time I get out to the vineyards I will try that one. read more

I give this place four (4) stars! It was ice cream with lots of flavors and many options to mix and match! So many combos that it's just plain crazy. So I choose the vanilla soft ice cream in a waffle con and it leaked on my hand. Crazy but I found it very delicious and the sprinkles seem extra crispy which is always a good time. The staff were very busy with the orders and yet they where professional. I was impressed. Plus they have a map, But my only thing is the bathroom, they have an outhouse and that's just not fun! But I know that bathrooms cost a lot of money so I'm not saying they should make one but it would definitely make the business that much nicer and more attractive to people you come but yo visit. The friendly staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and is able efficiently to get through what is often an extremely long line (due to high popularity). Found this place as we were driving through town. It caught my attention because of the crowd of people all enjoying ice cream and the long line outside the ice cream shop. I am so glad we stopped. The line moved quickly. There were so many unusual flavors to choose from. We tried the fig and honey, goat cheese and s'mores . The ice cream was creamy and delicious. I wish I could have tried some of the other flavors like kulfi, honey and lavender, or cherry bourbon. It's a great combination of an old fashion ice cream shack with lots of varieties of traditional flavors and soft serve combined with creative and gourmet special flavors- how about goat cheese? Kulfi? tiramisu? coconut avocado? pomberri and several others that they rotate every few weeks. Yes, this place gets crowded after dinner, after the beach, etc. but the servers are efficient and work very hard to keep the line moving. This ice-cream is pretty darn excellent and I make a point out of stopping here every time we are in the area. Homemade, rich, creamy and the flavor selection is pretty unique. The standard flavors such as rocky road, cookie dough, and cherry chocolate are tasty, but it's their rotating selection of flavors that are truly fantastic. Salted caramel! Avocado Coconut! Goat Cheese! Hazelnut Biscotti! Kulfi! Even the flavors I've taste tasted and decided against getting are pretty interesting. In a good way.
