Loved the sweet corn because it's not too sweet like some of the flavors I've tried. My favorite so far. The honey cinnamon ice cream tastes like a much sweeter apple jacks cereal, but a nice treat to indulge in. This is definitely a local hometown favorite on Mattituck! Yummy homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors (chocolate, fruits, original creative flavors). There was a line when we arrived on a summer evening, but the line moves fast. I liked how flavors were posted outside the building so you could think while in line, as well as in on the ice cream wells. Seasonal flavors are posted on a board inside the door. The only challenge was picking what flavor to get since they all looked good! Would be helpful to have a more detailed menu posted or in flyers in the store (to not crowd the tubs while ppl are ordering/sampling) - I later found this on their website, which is helpful for future trips. Seating is outside only on covered benches, very pleasant on a cool summer evening. Our party had the honey lavender, chocolate pudding pie and nutter butter. Flavors lived up to expectation and are well seasoned but not too much. The nutter butter tastes like you are eating an actual nutter butter! Pudding pie was great for a chocolate fix, but not too excessive or decadent. I plan to make this a regular dessert stop when in town! I'm not a huge fan of floral flavored ice creams but honey lavender was done well and still pleasant. read more

My wife and I eat a pretty serious amount of homemade ice cream. We've tried a lot of shops around Long Island, and this is definitely one of our favorites. This very reasonably-priced shop will certainly remain a staple of our North Fork wine outings in the future. The rotating selection here includes perennial favorites as well as a really good rotating selection of flavors that you won't find in most ice cream shops (hazelnut biscotti and kulfi, to name two). Being that we're both unable to commit to a single ice cream flavor, my wife got a scoop of s'mores and a scoop of rocky road, and I opted for the cake mix and hazelnut biscotti. The scoops are positively heaping. I can generally put down a good-sized sundae with ease, but two scoops of this incredibly dense, rich ice cream was perhaps a bit too decadent. (After the fact, we noticed most of the locals walking out with single scoops.) It certainly didn't impact my enjoyment at the time, but I'll probably want to spend a few extra hours at the gym this month. The cake batter was excellent, but probably not any better than the other shops who also do this flavor very well -- ditto for my wife's rocky road. The s'mores and hazelnut biscotti flavors, though, were absolutely unreal. These flavors are well fleshed-out and not somebody's off-and-on experimentation. The line was out of the door on Labor Day afternoon. I can understand that they are trying to move the line as soon as possible but when I was asking to try some flavors the girl was a little bit pushy so I had to rush to make my decision. She gave me the smallest scoop I've ever seen. I got a chocolate sprinkle waffle cone and I can barely see my 2 scoop ice cream in the cone. I asked for goat cheese & Fig and fig & honey....but why is there chocolate at the bottom of my ice cream? There lbs clearly some contamination here maybe she forgot to wash her scoop??! I would give five stars for the flavor of the ice cream because they are good. However for the price of tiny scoop and staff attitude it's a one star business. Came here last night and got the cotton candy ice cream. For 2 scoops it was $5 dollars. First off ice cream tasted freezer burnt and gross. You're better off sticking with the soft serve which is fresher. I'm just realizing that this place is very overrated. What's all this hype over mediocre ice cream??? I'll never see it.
