Excellent food and pleasant service. Recently ordered a carrot cake for a birthday party which got rave reviews from all guests.

The coffee was so rich and satisfying, BUT THE BAGEL. Omg, the quality of that bagel was beyond description. Freshly made, the egg was a fresh cracked one and the bacon done perfect and savory. The veg cream cheese that is used tasted just made as well. the gentleman making it was so sweet and the lady who took my order was wonderful. The leather cushy chair I enjoyed while waiting was heaven. I can't say enough and I hope to be back very soon. THANK YOU for making my morning.

First - it is super cute. With a mix of community tables, counter seating, and even one very cozy looking chair (I say looking because it was occupied and I was unable to plunk myself down and enjoy my book - which it was beckoning me to do). They have an extensive coffee menu and use their own roasted beans. I went with a standard coffee but did upgrade to maple syrup for my sweetener. (Anyone who knows me knows this alone won me over!) And, if you eat in - your coffee comes in a beautiful real mug! They have decent bakery case which is stocked with pastries from Two Fat Cats and bagels from Rose Foods! That's right - you can get a Rose Food bagel without the hassle of parking on Forest Ave in Portland. I got the Mystery Spice (old bay seasoning) and enjoyed half with Olive Cream Cheese and the other with Herbed. Clearly they make the cream cheeses here in house and they are delicious. The place seems pretty popular as there were many people here on a Thursday morning. Already planning a trip back here with a friend for a little remote work day!

I will say they appear to have their baked goods as well as many different food options like sandwiches but my review is strictly for the coffee. Once you enter to the right is all the different seating with a good variety of tables and chairs but also some more comfy choices like couches. Quite a large space inside and a handful of tables outside to enjoy the nice weather. You order at the counter and then they have a spot further down where they'll call out your name for both food and drinks. They had a section on the menu called the MET Artistic Lattes which was their version of specialty flavored lattes. This caught our eyes. My wife went with the Falcon Pride (chocolate & white chocolate latte) and I went with the Vanilla Bean Dream (white chocolate & vanilla). Drink wise they were both pretty good! Didn't become a new favorite coffee spot but good enough we would return if we found ourselves in the area looking for coffee again. To have a real strong opinion I would need to return and try some of the food rather than just the coffee.

I submit this for management to take corrective action,…read more I stopped in for a quick cup of coffee. One would think this would be a non event. The coffee was served in a hand made mug with no handle. WAY TOO HOT to hold. When I pointed this out the server moved on to mistake number two. "You can pick it up at the rim," she suggested, and then proceeded to demonstrate, putting her fingers ALL OVER the rim.... DISGUSTING! There is an old expression in the food service business where top third of a glass, mug etc. belongs to the customer. In a 15 second interaction they managed to screw up a simple cup of coffee.....For A COFFEE SHOP, you would think they would be savvy about such simple minded matters.... Had her pour into a paper cup and bit my tongue.....Get it together......it is a simple process.

I like the interior: it has old, historic Maine building vibes (the exposed brick, the wooden floors, the large windows with accent shutters). I like the coffee (it's from a local roaster; shame on other coffee shops for not buying their beans from Maine businesses). I like the staff: I had A LOT of weird requests, and the person ringing me up was like, "yeah, we got you, girl" (not like that, but you get the point). I like the abundance of non-dairy creamer options. I like the very Maine themed lattes (like, The Golden Road? IYKYK) I like the very seasonal themed lattes. I like that they're dog friendly. I asked them if it was possible to get the Down East Maple Latte iced (with an extra shot) and additionally a healthy sprinkle of sea salt. It was the saltiest latte I've ever had in my life, but like, in a good way? It was a gentle amount of sweet, strong on the espresso flavor, and salty. I would absolutely come out of my way to WFM here!

The service/staff - 10 stars from the moment we walked in. It was like walking into a friends house for a dinner party/gathering. So friendly and welcoming, like they had been looking forward to us arriving. We were brought to our table in the one of the side rooms furthest from the kitchen, main room. There were a few other tables in the same room, but it didn't feel crowded. Great menu, not a large selection, however, there is definitely something for everyone. I selected the chicken and dumplings. It wasn't like the traditional chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were petite and so delicious! The sour dough bread made fresh daily....get it if you can. You may want to call ahead and preorder for your dinner. They run out fast. Our server was very engaging, patiently explained the dishes and offerings. Checked on us, kept our drinks full, she made us smile and laugh. She was fun! Overall - delicious food and drink. A cozy setting for a lovely dinner. Also - private lot with plenty of parking! I can't wait to go back again soon.

Turns out, this place is way better than I expected. I had it in my head that it was some kind of tourist trap because of the location, but nope. It actually gives off super local vibes, and the food was REALLY good. I think this might be in my top three for best food-to-price ratio in the greater Portland area (does Freeport even count as that?). My "dish" was $11.99 and came with two eggs, two sausage links, two hash browns, and a homemade biscuit. The only thing I didn't get two of was the biscuit, but it was huge, so I was actually relieved about that. I left stuffed. More importantly, everything was really yummy! The hash browns were crispy but not greasy, the eggs were cooked perfectly sunny-side up, and that homemade biscuit... I could've taken another one to-go. Make sure you ask for it grilled; you'll thank me later. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and his food was just as good. Also, they have dozens of mimosa flavors. I had the pineapple mimosa and it was phenomenal. Service was great, too. Our server was friendly and super attentive. The vibe inside reminded us of some of our favorite diners in Massachusetts; no frills, nothing fancy, just a classic diner feel. Exactly why we loved it.
