Not a fan of doughnuts but really liked the fact that they had blueberrry doughnuts and other types of doughnuts UNGLAZED! The blueberry doughnut was good. I really enjoyed it. They also have other pastries including this ham and cheese bread and a raisin pastry, both tasty. I wouldn't bother waiting in line for M&M doughnuts. I tried them once when a friend brought it to me and it tasted pretty much the same as these blueberry doughnuts. read more

Great donuts and cronuts (croissant donuts)!!!! The blueberry donuts here are amazing after you heat them up in the microwave for a lil. I don't see the difference between M&M donuts and here, but i'm not a picky eater or anything haha, all the same fluffy, cake-like donuts to me! I donut discriminate!! I've tried the strawberry whipped cream filled cronut and also the strawberry cronut with lemon custard! The second one was my fave! The custard isn't extremely sweet and doesn't overpower anything. Also, the people that work here are super nice and welcoming :-) Oh and $5 minimum for cards! read more

OMG the blueberry donuts here are to die for! One of my roommates brought home a dozen of them early one Saturday morning so I grabbed one, just to try it. It was soooo good! And I'm not even a big fan of donuts. It was warm, super soft on the inside, but had the glazed outside - very similar to the ones served at M&M Donuts. Yummm! I must go back for more! read more

Cronut review: Thanks to my friend from work I got to try a cronut from Mag's. I had the fresh strawberry & whipped cream. This baby was super fresh, flakey enough that you could hear a crunch on each bite, moist, and best of all it is perfectly sweetened. My friend who has been going here for 13+ years said the owner spent weeks perfecting these incredibly intoxicating deliciousness. Location is a bit far for me but I'd swing by if I'm in the area. read more

IM GOING TO SENSITIVE SWEETS. I drove about half an hour to this place to find out they didn't have any gluten free options. I'm so disappointed I cried. There are a number of places that claim they have gluten free options but put little effort into making sure they are homemade or aren't absolute crap. Or that they even have them at all. I understand it takes a thorough licensing process, but this is bs. I'm sick of wandering around online looking for a place that has gluten free sweets and finding nothing in return. Either restaurants need to step up their game and make these products, or they're not up with the times. read more

I hate it when I take a bite of stale tasting donuts, BUT I've never experienced a bad donut from Mags. Donuts bring back childhood memories for me and I get that every time I have a donut. The donuts at Mag's are fresh, and soft with the perfect amount of glaze on top. If I could eat donuts everyday without any extra cushion added to my waist, I most definitely would! I also love their blueberry donuts more than M&Ms because I never have to wait in a long line at odd hours to get them and they are definitely not as greasy either. I want fried blueberry goodness and not greasiness! Plus, it helps that the cute guy gives me extra donuts and keeps hooking it up with the cream filled donuts! Who doesn't love that?? I heard through the grapevine that Mag's will be making FRENCH CRULLERS!! I can't wait until I get my hands on one! read more

Honestly I only come here for either blueberry donuts or blueberry donut holes. Nothing else. It's probably my favorite "non-fancy" donut and it's very good here. No frills donut shop. read more

Great hole in a wall...buried in back of a strip mall, it is easy to miss this place as I have been going to store next door for years. The donuts are in good supply and the staff is friendly. Everything is fresh and quality as the cherry and orange donuts were crispy yet soft with frosting that taste like the true flavor (not sugar with food color). read more

THE GIST: Deliciously fresh donuts! We heart donuts. Great for a quick snack or if you wanna grab some for the office mates! RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) EVERYTHING 2) APPLE FRITTER: these things are huge, has chunks of apples, just pure fried and glazed bliss! I've been to many other doughnut shops before and I must say this place is a little pricey but I wanted to check it out still because of the great reviews they have had. I purchased the Chocolate covered, custard filled donut, a glazed twist, and a long chocolate donut. I must say that all the donuts are of great quality and very clean. The chocolate frosting on the donuts I ordered had no cracks whatsoever!!! Is that even possible!?! The chocolate was as smooth as a baby's bottom. If you're a custard lover, you would love the custard filled donut. They jam-pack the custard straight in there. While eating it, I kept asking myself, "Will the custard ever end?!?!" Then resorted to crying until I finished the entire donut. All the custard was very overwhelming for me indeed. The reason why they had 3 stars though was because there donut holes were very over priced. They sold for 5 for $1.00 or 20 cents each. There's a donut shop on the corner of my street that sold 12 for $1.00. It was indeed cool that they offered a variety of donut holes (crumb, glazed, sprinkled, etc.), but still I didn't think the price was worth it. Man, I wanted me some donut holes. read more

Mag's now making cronuts! Pros: - blueberry donuts - accepts card (when spending over $5) - friendly staff Overall: 4.5 stars. Probably one of my favorite donut spots. They have the infamous blueberry donuts that m&m is known for, minus the 1-2 hr wait! Not as soft and moist, but pretty close! They recently started making cronuts here. I never tried a cronut before, so I don't have much to compare it to. We got to try the maple, strawberry and chocolate cronuts - it was flakey, and not too sweet - right in between a croissant and a donut! I wish there was a Mag's closer to me, those blue berry donuts would definitely be my go-to to bring to the office! read more

I was going to go see some friends, so I decided to get a box of donuts as a surprise. I ended up getting two sugar donuts, a maple bacon cronut, a strawberry with whipped cream cronut, and a dozen donut holes. I asked for a dozen and the worker said he would give me a few extra. But he definitely gave me way more than just a few extra LOL. So that made me happy. I didn't actually eat the sugar donuts, but I would assume they are good. Also it's pretty hard to screw up a donut. I got to take a few bites of the maple bacon and strawberry with whipped cream cronuts and they were good. The cronut wasn't too hard like other places I've gone to, but was flaky and soft. The maple bacon was well done so that the bacon didn't overpower the whole cronut. The strawberry one was good as well, but did feel the whipped cream was a little too heavy. It was the type of whipped cream that was really thick and solid so it wouldn't melt. It was good for the cronut because the cream didn't deflate or anything, but it did feel a little much. If you ever feel like getting donuts, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

Normally love going here. Donuts and bagels are good. Went today, girl at the counter charged me 5 additional charges of $1.50 on my order. When I got the receipt I asked why I was charged the extra 5 charges and was told those were additional surcharge on my bagels because they had cheese (these were not sandwiches, they were straight from the bake case). These surcharges were not listed anywhere. Plenty of other good donut shops that won't treat you like that. Won't be back. Treat your customers right. Hope it was worth the extra $7.50. read more

This review is for the Blueberry Donut! That is what I have been getting this month for our meetings and everyone loves them. Taste like Blueberry Pancakes. Also taste pretty awesome microwaved for like 10 seconds. It is also our lucky donut shop because I have gone here every start of week for the last three weeks and our sales team has been killing it like crazy. Is there anything they can't do? -- Homer Simpson Mmmm, forbidden donut -- Homer Simpson My awesomely in shape Yelp friend MiYun C. has kept raving about this place like an infatuated Homer Simpson. I figured these donuts must be a secret elixir to get one in Lulumon advertised quality shape. Off I was to lose the remaining weight I need to lose by, yep, eating donuts! Who knew? I bellied up to the bar and asked for beer and donuts please! Oops, no beer here...okay, just a glazed twist like the lovely Ms. Chong said I should get. I scarfed down this heavenly piece of fried doughy sugar (best glazed twist ever!) and literally could feel the pounds melting away! I eagerly told MiYun of my new workout regiment...eating these magical donuts she recommended with fat eating properties! She said, Sidney, it's the 1000 calorie burning workouts that make me look this good, not the donuts. Burn! one morning my friends and i were up drinking all night.. around 4am we were all sorta tired, but we had epic munchies. we did NOT know what to eat.. .. we looked online for what would be open, it was now like 4:30am.. .. so we saw that mags would open at 5am so we decided we can wait for some early morning sweets. the four of us went and we got a dozen of assorted donuts (more expensive option) i thought it was 'okay,' not as good as every raved about.. i was especially disappointed in the apple fritter cause i usually LOVE apple fritters. however i did enjoy the maple bar and my friend liked their blueberry donut (not as great as m&ms) next time i'm just gonna drive myself to a krispy kremes at those late hours.. .. read more

If you advertise cream filled donuts, and provide a donut cut in half like a hamburger bun & squirt some whipped cream between the two slices of donuts, you are close to an eclair....NOT. A cream filled donut. Additionally, the mocha tasted like watered down coffee with a packet of hot chocolate dumped in. Terrible product! Also, there were NO safety measures in place to ensure that the food was not tampered with (or COVID safe) for the delivery orders, including the one you sent through a 3rd party vendor, Postmates. OH, and back to the donut sandwich, you didn't even squirt whipped cream on the entire donut bun....WHERE'S THE BEEF!?! read more

Fresh homemade donuts ! Tried the blueberry doughnuts and they were so yummy! There is a nice glaze on top and when you bite into it, super moist and ton of blueberry flavor! I enjoyed the blueberry doughnuts. I haven't tried M&M's yet :O so I cannot compare their blueberry doughnuts to Mag's. Also tried a chocolate glazed covered doughnut and a plain doughnut. A traditional Donut shop located in the heart of a modern shopping plaza. I should have went here instead of driving all the way to M&M donuts and waiting almost two hours for blueberry donuts that I could have easily gotten less than two miles away from my apartment. I love the blueberry donuts, the maple bars, and the glazed - truly one of a kind. She's got a loyal customer right here! :) I love the lady that works here, I feel so bad because she should be resting and not having to work so hard! I can only imagine how early she has to wake up and all the work she has to do to run this place for an entire day. Major props to her for always having the energy to have a smile! I've been craving M&M blueberry donuts since the last time I had them which was about a year ago. I waited 2 hours, from 1am-3am, for blueberry donuts WTF?! Since that last visit, I've noticed that a lot of donut shops in SoCal have caught on the blueberry donut hype and you can almost get them anywhere now. I was on a mini vacation and I was staying at my cousins place, which happened to be walking distance from Mag's, and I did a quick Yelp search and I quickly noticed "BLUEBERRY DONUTS". Awesome! They don't get as much traffic as M&M used to get so they wont be fresh unless you go in the morning BUT they were still delicious! Lots of blueberry flavor, nice layer of sugary glaze on the outside, and soft and moist on the inside. I went one morning at 11am and they were just as good as the fresh ones I had at M&M. When I went another day later in the afternoon they weren't as moist inside but still extremely soft. The little asian lady that works here is so sweet and nice! M&M is definitely lacking in that category. I'm pretty sure the old guy fell asleep in front of me last time LOL read more

Yes! I am still on the hunt for the best blueberry donut out there and this place... this place has a pretty good blueberry donut! They come both glazed and not glazed, yaknow, in case you don't want to feel too guilty! I've never had a fresh, fresh, hot-out-of-the-fryer-just-glazed-on-the-spot blueberry donut from here, but I heat up the ones from Mag's for about 15 seconds or so and they're delicious! It's nice and cakey, but not too dense. You can definitely taste the blueberry donut and the blue-ish purple middle is just so pleasant to see! The only downside is that it's not crunchy on the outside, BUT then again it's not super greasy (like M&M either.. don't get me wrong, I really like M&M's blueberry donuts too)! It's a pretty nice trade-off, f'sure! For a healthier pick, get the blueberry donut without the glaze. To satisfy your sweet sweet tooth, get it with the glaze. Both are $0.95 each. I've never tried their other donuts, but I definitely will be back to do so! Okay, this place gets 5-Stars just because of two words: FRENCH CRULLER! Oh my god, why have I never tried one of these donuts before? It's like the perfect soft yet chewy consistency. I luckily went with a friend who heavily recommended them and finally tried one. I normally avoid donuts that look like them because they remind me of old-fashioned donuts, which I don't like since they are more cakey. Man I've been missing out, they are sooooo good. I also got a plain sugar donut and thought it was good. Overall, the donuts here seem like a good deal and it's a pretty short drive from UCI campus which is super convenient for a quick donut run. I'm normally not big fan of really sweet donuts, but they do have a good variety here and the sugar donut and french cruller were just right. Go great with coffee! I also learned just now checking Yelp that 2 for 1 donut deal for UCI students, whaaat !? read more

Mag's close proximity to the university and to my various apartments during my time in Irvine was like a godsend. The staff is always super friendly & are always patient with their customers! Because quite frankly, choosing the right donuts or cronuts (croissant donuts) is a big decision. And while you can't go wrong with any of your choices (chocolate vs glazed, blueberry or maple, etc.) - it's important to get the right flavor spread for you, your friends or your family! My favorite donut to get here is their blueberry donut! Bonus points if you can come here and they're fresh - just makes them extra yum! Though you can get almost the same feel if you pop it into the microwave! (okay not the same, but still) Prices are pretty fair especially for what you get and the quality of the product. YES!!!! Right down the street from my house AND it's cheap!!! They also have blueberry donuts (kinda like the INFAMOUS M & M blueberry donuts) except they're BIGGER and taste just as good without the ridiculous wait! Lady that works at the shop is super friendly and even hooked it up with some mini donut bite things for FREEE! WIN WIN WIN! I love this place. read more

The honey cinnamon latte was a little on the sweet side, but the staff was so nice that it could've been easily fixed if I had ordered it less sweet. The parking lot is a little small but I've never had issues finding a spot. I loved the interior and the floral decor hanging from the ceilings!

This experience just made me prefer takeout more, but I think my tourists wanted air conditioning and there was not enough outdoor seating for our party. Maybe next time I can eat a quantity more befitting of a smaller party.

I've been a loyal customer of Mag's Donuts and Bakery for a long time, and I've always loved their food. However, their customer service--especially over the phone--has consistently been disappointing. Every time I've reached out with a question or concern about an order, I've been met with hostility rather than helpfulness. Today was no different. I called to ask about a canceled DoorDash order, hoping to get some clarity, but instead of trying to understand the situation, they immediately brushed me off with, "Are you calling DoorDash, or should I call DoorDash?"--without actually addressing the issue. Later, when I called again to inform them that their store was showing as closed on DoorDash, they casually admitted, "Oh yeah, we've been having issues." So despite knowing about the problem, they failed to mention it earlier and treated me like I was the one at fault for asking. Rather than showing any sympathy or making an effort to communicate properly, they hung up on me. This experience was beyond frustrating. I love Mag's Donuts, but the lack of customer service and basic courtesy is unacceptable. If they can't treat their loyal customers with respect, I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. read more

Sinfully good! I absolutely love donuts. If I could, I could probably finish a dozen all by myself. I don't eat it too often though because of obvious reasons. When I do, just a simple glazed donut is heaven for me. The donuts here are made fresh and are great. I usually stick to glazed donuts since they're my fav. But, I'll venture out and get other kinds too every so often. They're all delicious here. The only ones I can't eat anymore (used to love them as a kid) are jelly donuts. I used to come Mag's for "apple fritter" all the time when I was here in 2002. I couldn't have it for 10 years as I was away from the town but always wanted it. Thefirst thing remembered and craved was the Apple Fritter of the Mag's!!! The taste was as fantastic as it was about 10 years ago! For more than 40 years, Mag's has been serving fresh donuts, every morning beginning at 4AM. They are consistent, quality and dependable. The cronuts are a recent addition and FANTASTIC, but all the classics are consistently fresh and dependably good. The donuts are all top class, good size and texture and correct proportions of coverings e.g. maple, chocolate, sugar etc. And the donut holes are a must-get. She didn't bother to say "good morning or I'll be with you in a moment" walked to the back and had someone else come out and take my order. He was nice and had great customer service but interactions with the front of house was not it. She then walks out with a tray of donuts and greets other customers walking in. And this isn't the first time, I've had a sour experience with her. I would come back, however I feel like I'm not a customer she likes to help. That alone makes me want to take my business elsewhere.

Aside from being a super friendly bunch with a good variety of donuts, they are not gouging customers for pennies. What I mean by that is that they are charging the flat price regardless of payment type (no extra charge for credit cards - at least not that I have noticed). They also seem to be really focus on building good relationships (and sense of community) with everyone. I cannot speak for everyone, but they have always thrown in a few extra donut holes in my order. Yes, they are a small place, but they make the best they can with the space. So why the missing star? I am holding off until I finally get to try their blueberry donut. I heard it is really good and is usually sold out by the time I get there, so that is next to try on my list.

The fillings weren't overly sweet, which I liked since it didn't feel heavy or overwhelming. Even though the selection wasn't exactly my preference, the overall taste and value were solid. I tried a couple different ones and they were delicious - nice and fluffy, not too sweet (for those that had a sweet filling). While there, I decided to try their black sesame coconut pudding. I love black sesame and I love coconut pudding, but the two combined is a pass for me, I give it a 6/10. I'd go back to try other items.

I requested to have the donuts delivered to the party venue during the time frame my family was setting up.
