I haven't had main chick in awhile and this location was the closest. I lived off of main chick during my time at UCLA so I have a relatively good grasp on their consistency and taste. There is a parking structure behind it that is expensive and main chick DOES NOT provide validation for it. I ordered a chicken sandwich medium heat, fries, and MC sauce. The chicken sandwich was just as good as I remembered although it did feel like there was less slaw included. The chicken was crispy and heaty on the outside while the meat was soft and tender. The fries stayed crispy even after an hr when I decided to finish the rest. Overall, the food was just as delicious as I remembered. Great hot chicken spot!! I'm a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to chicken sandwiches because I loooove them, so of course I had to give main chick a try! I stopped by on a weekday evening, I was the only one in the restaurant and was helped by a young lady who was nice. I ordered the combo that comes with 2 sandwiches and a side of fries; for spice level I went with one medium and one mild. My meal was ready in less than 5 minutes and the young lady who helped me sat down for a break, so one of the cooks walked all the way over to me and handed me the bag, thought that was cool of him! The wait didn't feel very long anyways as you can look out the window and just people watch, also they have a cool neon sign! I have a 15-20 minute walk home from here and when I arrived home the food was still warm, so I know it was very fresh. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and spicy! Ok I totally see what the buzz was about after trying Main Chick for the first time with my daughter. We got Spicy for my daughter and medium for myself. She ate her spicy chicken like a champ! I think we can definitely go for the spiciest next time. Everything was so delicious we especially loved the Mac and cheese, but of course the chicken was amazing!! We went around 11:15 and was able to order right away but by the time we were done and leaving the place got really packed! If you don't want to wait too long, go around 11am. Main Chick knows how to do spice levels right. I got Combo #3: 2 chicken sandwiches and fries. I got medium for the sandwich and it had the perfect kick where I was still able to enjoy it without having to pant because it was too spicy. I also got Combo #4: 6 chicken tenders with fries. The tenders were MASSIVE and crispy. I got mild for these but if you're sensitive to spice it might be a bit spicy. I dipped them in the MC sauce to get the perfect bite and I elevated the flavor by topping it with mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was already so good on its own with it being so creamy and al dente. I was surprised because a lot of hot chicken chains don't do it well. The restaurant is very small - there are four bar stools on the side counter, but it's definitely cramped if there are folks waiting in line, so it's definitely not a comfortable atmosphere for anyone to sit and eat for a while or hang out with friends/people-watch. It's much more of a grab-and-go type place. You order at the counter, there are menus available at the counter as well as on the wall. I ordered a chicken sandwich (dark meat-level 1/mild spicy). The price was $6 for a moderate slider-size burger, which I found fair. It did take a while to be ready, though, be warned!! Probably close to 15-17 minutes, which was a little stressful since I had limited parking and wasn't warned about the wait-time. Although the restaurant was empty, I didn't realize that most of their orders were mobile. Next time, I'll definitely place my my order through online/phone as well and pick up when I arrive. As for the food, the chicken was crispy and very well spiced. I would say they can do spicy very well - there was a pleasant spice even for mild, and they have 5 levels of spicy. Apparently you have to sign a waiver for the spiciest level, and if you can complete the challenge you get to take a photo for their wall. We found street parking a block away but it's limited in this part of town so you're prob best off going into the parking structures. The chicken was very crispy and spice level was on point. We also really liked the fries as they were seasoned well. We both liked mine better since it's dark meat so it was a lot juicier but def messy with the bone. I didn't try the sauce but my bf ranked it as ok. Now for why I knocked off a star. Service was just ok. We asked whether the chicken sandwich could be dark meat instead and they straight up said no. Which is weird cuz dark meat is generally cheaper and why not at least the option for additional charge? Also I had a Yelp check in for 10% off and they never even applied the discount after I asked to make sure. I will preface this with I don't think I like Nashville style hot chicken in general. That being said, I think I can still provide an honest review of my experience that can inform others. Like most legit Nashville hot chicken spots, your food is going to take a while. Like 15 min after you order. Parking isn't great, it's on a busy street but there is a parking garage right next door. I asked if they validated parking, they don't, and said the first 15 min is free, which isn't helpful if your food takes 15 min. They don't have much seating, just a bar against the window that seats maybe 4-6? But there's an ally around the corner with some outdoor seating that you can sit at. The food is very standard Nashville style with lots of spices that adheres to the chicken via spicy oil creating a oily coating. I got a single sandwich, not realizing it was a slightly larger hawiian roll and a single tender. When I read single sandwich, I assumed it was a normal sized sandwich, but just the sandwich. That is not the case. The sandwich that comes with the combo is much larger and about the size you'd expect for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. All in all, a decent chicken spot if you're aware of the parking, seating, and timing aspects of it. read more

I first tried the fries, and I have to admit they were on the saltier side. I also learned this night that my "mild" was not what their mild was... I really love this place for their combos - a perfect spot to go when you want to share with someone else or try a few different options in one go. Their tenders are massive! Their sandwiches are more on the smaller side (a slider?). Between the two, I'd recommend the tender over the slider for more bang for your buck. I can usually handle heat pretty well but fair warning that the spice level from mild to medium is a pretty big jump! Medium has me looking for milk on the 3rd bite while mild is a slight kick. Since they offer both white and dark meat sandwiches, I got two white meat sandwich's with the combo and I ordered a dark meat sandwich separately. The sandwiches weren't anything special. I've definitely had better. They were relatively smaller than the sandwiches at other hot chicken spots. The buns were overly toasted, which didn't help. I ended up liking the dark meat better than the white meat sandwich. The fries were too heavily seasoned for my liking.
