Nice place for adults but not for kids. Way more expensive than other arcades in the area. They seriously charge you $1 just to have a card so you can play games. Not to mention that all games are oddly priced, $1,63 etc so you always end up with money left on your card that you lose unless you add more. There is a Height requirement for everything so basically any kids under 7, in most cases 48", can't really do anything. Glorified bowling alley. Clean, modern bowling lanes. Bumper lanes and even a thing that looks like a plastic bowling ball slide for toddlers. Laser tag was a blast. Great place to spend a couple hours took grandsons, 7 and 5 and there was plenty to do. 4' tall and over for laser tag. Reasonably priced packages--get there early for cheaper prices and less people. Although this place provides good deals occasionally and fun, it is extremely overpriced especially the food. We went to get two chicken tender meals and the lady at the register was very rude. We had to wait 30 minutes just to get our food that's barely warm and missing sauce and coleslaw. I told the same lady at the register we didn't get coleslaw and she asked me if I wanted it?? I paid for it so yes I wanted it and was confused as to why it was a question and why we didn't get it. No apology or anything. possibly the worst service I've gotten at a restaurant. spent $80 on bowling for an hour and a half. sat down, waited 30 minutes for service, had to call over server to come take care of us. when I asked her if we could order, she said "uh, sure I guess." took her 20 minutes to bring us our drinks. another 15 minutes passed and I had to ask her again if we could order. it took the remainder of our time to get our food and then it came out wrong. after asking her to re put in our order we were out of time. never once did she apologize or ask if we'd like refills on our drinks. after speaking to a manager, he said the best he could do for us is give us 30 minutes so we could eat our food. it took another 20 minutes for us to get our food. our time ended and we had to ask a manager to get us our tab. he gave us an expired game coupon for our troubles. first time to main event and definitely my last. read more

I celebrated my son's 13th birthday recently and the kids had a blast, great place for kids, great staff. I was very unsatisfied with the food, my son got to pick from a couple options for his party and picked sliders, all I can say is DO NOT GET THE SLIDERS, my son is a burger boy, and didn't even eat them, none of the kiddos did, it was the bun, they were so hard the boys were even tapping them on the table, to show me how hard they were. This place is wonderful. Took my daughter and some friends here for her 13th birthday and couldn't have picked a better place. They had a blast. Besides the venue having many fun activities, the staff here are great. Kelsy and Deanna took care of us at the front desk. They made sure we were set up for a fun day. I appreciated their help! The staff in the pizza area were very nice as well. The amazing customer service we experienced at Main Event in Gilbert was above and beyond what we are used to these days. A lot of training goes into creating that kind of overall friendliness. Looking forward to going back and telling everyone this is a must-do place! read more

2nd time here and the waits are ridiculous no matter what time you come! Arrived at 6pm and was told there's a 2 hour wait for bowling, gravity rope was 45 min. My 3yr old daughters food came out 10 min before everyone else's. The appetizers came out with the meal..I ordered coconut shrimp and it should have had a dipping sauce with it and I do not get it, hubby ordered a double with his drink and they brought out a single. First if all, I know most arcade claw machine games are rigged but my daughter wanted a white polar bear and she used all her credits! So she gave up and we were walking away and we saw that another girl came to the same claw machine game and tried once to get the same polar bear. Remember she tried once! I'm pretty sure the Girl told her dad or who ever and then the guardian of the child told one of the workers to open the claw machine and give the bear to the girl that tried once! I gave 2 stars only because we were placed on wait list to bowl. I was told wait would be about 20 minutes. I received a text saying we were on wait list. We decided to eat and play some games. 1 hour later we still did not receive a text saying our lane was ready. I went to the desk and was told by the same girl who checked us in that she does not have us on her wait list. I showed her my test and her reply OH I can put you on a lane now. Not god for business if they tell you your on a wait list, you get a confirmation text your on the list and then you go to desk and told your not on the list. This was our second visit with our family. We reserved a bowling lane online and check in was really quick. Once we got to the bowling lane, the woman that escorted us asked if we'd like a server. We said yes, my kids were starving. We signed in and took pictures. 15 minutes had gone by, still no server. I went to the employees that were just standing around and asked for a server. Finally someone came. We ordered drinks, time passed, she brought drinks over with literally two ice cubes in them. We ordered food. Food came when our one hour session was almost over, but not together. Everything came out at least 15 minutes apart. We had just received our last item once the hour was over, of course, it was my kids food. The waitress didn't refill drinks, I kept walking over to the pizza place to get refills on our glass cups. If you like to wait on your family and not be able to bowl, this is the place. We will try somewhere else next time. Update- we went during spring break. Huge mistake! Police and ambulance were there due to some people fighting. No servers for the restaurant. They only had one bartender to do everything. Food came out cold and wasn't fresh. I was completely surprised due to us having to wait for so long to receive it. This place is a complete scam. Everything is over priced and not executed probably. I could have easily given this place 4 stars BUT The staff is very rude and disrespectful. My friends and I went on a Sunday night only to encounter multiple rude employees. When we asked to do another round of laser tag, the employee named Remington was very rude and rolled his eyes. We were also not allowed to do the ropes course because it was closed, when it was only 11:30 and they close at 12. Took my kids here today to celebrate my sons birthday. I bought the all day play pass and we headed off to laser tag. The young lady at laser tag informed me my youngest son (5) was too short to play, being that I was alone with my kids I could not leave him out by himself or send my 6 year old in by himself so I went to ask for a refund and go elsewhere where the Birthday boy could play laser tag as this is all he has been asking for. The Front desk paged manager to come issue my refund. To my surprise the Manager walked us to laser tag and gave us the go ahead to play. I stayed by my 5 year old side during the game and they had so much fun they played 4 times. The manager even came and found us and gave both my kids a play card and wished my oldest a Happy Birthday. What I thought was going to be a bad day and having to tell my son we couldn't celebrate where he wanted turned into a wonder 4 hours of fun. It was a good experience took the kids and some friends to main event. We did an hr of bowling, definitely recommend booking a head of time to avoid long waits. (We prepaid for 8, and then we had 3 extra and weren't charged for their shoes or bowling) we ordered food and then paid for 15min on the obstacle course (which is more like 5-10min) how ever long it takes them to do one lap. The food is nothing to brag about. We did all this on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Dropped a few Benjamin's on the whole experience. I can relate to others reviews regarding employees. Typical bowling joint with underage and under trained employees. I guess most of us expect excellent service when we spend that much. The only true bad experience is at there cheesy little restaurant. The kid was worse than the employees at the movie theatre snack bar. Moving at a pace of 0 with no knowledge or urgency in anything he did. It literally took him 15+ min to serve 2 ice creams to the teenage girls in front of us. If you plan on low expectations you'll have a good time but not sure how to avoid their costly prices. ($98 for 2 lanes of bowling for an hr???) read more

My husband and I decided to take the kids bowling on a Monday night at 6:30pm. We went online to reserve a lane prior to leaving the house. Since the website only allows you to reserve a lane 48 hours in advance (ridiculous), I called the location. The girl on the phone was extremely rude and said it was a 1.5 hour wait for 1 lane for a family of 4. When we arrived, the employees were rude once again telling us that it would have been best to reserve a lane 2 days ago. 2 days ago I didn't even know we were going to go bowling! Had my son's 14th birthday party and it was a complete bust. I've thrown kids birthday parties at venues (Peter piper pizza, gymnastics gyms, fat cats, trampoline parks etc) all over the Valley for the past 12 years and never had such a dud of a party for so much money. Everything was so unorganized. The "party host" which at other venues means they actually do things so that the parents aren't stressed....did nothing. We got there and she was trying to tell me the plan which I assumed was a 2 hour party like all the other places but when I said so the party is 2 hours correct she's said "sort of" What does that mean? I have parents coming in 2 hours? So are you saying it's not two hours? When I chose 2 activities I assumed the first hour of the party they have access to laser tag the whole time and then I chose extra game money. They got a 1-8 minute session in laser tag and when I said how many times can they play laser tag or for how long she said that's it just the one. then she had them sit at the table and drink their soda for like 15 minutes very awkwardly and then handed out the game cards which they all used in 10 minutes flat because the games are all ridiculously expensive. So about 35 minutes into the party the kids were sitting their bored. I had to go add another $100 in game money. Then the food came and I had high hopes that at least we'd have a good meal. The food is horrible. We got pizza, pretzel bites, fries (these were decent) and the chips and queso. Blah! You know it's bad when 14 year old boys were saying no thanks to more.....The hostess, unlike at every other party venues I've ever been at did not serve the kids food and when it was time for cupcakes there were no plates nothing and she didn't do anything during that part as well. We still had time to kill but she said it's time to leave our table we can't have it anymore....The 3 moms who stayed at the party and I were in total disbelief that we were being kicked out of the party area with nowhere else to sit and we still had 30 minutes left of the party....kids were bored again sitting there awkwardly so I asked the hostess if I could pay MORE money to have them do the obstacle course or something else but she informed me it was a 2 hour wait I said can't you talk to the manager or something I mean we paid for a party shouldn't we have some sort of dibs on doing these activities? Nope. Then one of the boys at the party said that a game ate some of his money and she said he had to go up to the desk and wait in line and talk to the guy. I said isn't this your job to help him get his money back...aren't you our party host? You literally don't have another party it's just us....she did finally go get a manager and then take the boy to go get a few credits back on the card. I've never seen so many blue and red shirted staff in one place in my life doing absolutely nothing. For comparison, a month previously we were at a Fat Cats party where you also choose 2 activities and so the kids got a whole hour of Virtual Reality play and extra game money and a party room for 2 hours. The party host is completely dedicated to the kids at the party and was going around with an unlimited play card swiping more games for the kids at the party to make sure no kid was sitting there bored. The party host also served all the food and asked kids if they needed more drinks etc. And it was half the price. Almost $500 later I will definitely never have a birthday party at Main Event again and I don't even think I would go back there because the food is just so bad. I don't mind spending money to do fun things with my kids but with so much good food everywhere else like Top Golf for example I just wouldn't spend the money at Main Event. And the cherry on the top of all of that was that they added the gratuity to my check!!!! I had no choice in the matter. read more

Last time I spend time at the place. They make you pay a non-refundable $50 fee just to be put on the waiting list! I have never paid a non-refundable fee at any bowling place anywhere. Food was OK at best. The fries were as salty as they come. Maybe to sell you more drinks? I was in the 10 frame with one shot left...they shut the lane off/down. BAD MOVE. This place is pretty good for kids. They seem to have a lot of summer specials going on which is nice. They've got some great memorial day specials. For $13 the kids can play from 1030 to 5 PM. This includes their skywalk activities thing, laser tag, bowling and pool. I'm sure there's more that's included in that but I don't really know. Plenty of arcade games but you have to pay for those by purchasing a $1 card that you get to reload all the time. They have some kind of special going on for $11 that's includes all of the arcade games but I don't know the details so you'll have to figure that one out for yourself. The food is ok, we did have one of our items forgotten about but they didn't give us any grief about taking it off of the bill. They didn't make any attempt to do anything for the inconvenience either though. Decent place to spend the day and not have to put out too much money unless you buy food. That's the kicker read more

I had a terrible experience and would probably not go back with my family. The number one reason I would not return is because of how horrible the staff is. Our server was the only professional employee in the entire place. The games are pretty good, really overpriced though. Food was sub par. We had an issue with one game and when they came to fix it, we asked if they could refund one game because we slid the card twice. They acted like they had no idea what we were talking about and started making fun of us for wanting a refund of $2.20. They eventually put the money back on the card but the manager didn't even acknowledge our existence. The girl who worked in the gift shop (destiny?) had the worst attitude. When we first walked up she was standing there flirting with two coworkers and completely ignored us and the other customers. My mom asked her a question and she just rolled her eyes at us. While we were picking out prizes she was trying to rush us along and was clearly irritated with us. I'm not sure how this place stays in business with the terrible customer service but I would spend your money elsewhere. read more

Where to begin? First when we checked in and we're out on the waiting list it was confirmed that we had an hour to wait. After spending a large amount on drinks and games waiting for the lane to open, i was told it would be another 2-hours???? After requesting a manager suddenly a lane opened up and we were bowling. I should mention we signed up for the unlimited bowling and we're never told anything about time frame or only an hour to bowl?? After 1-hour we were told that are time was up???? We paid $50 for 1 hour I guess? After my wife asked to speak to a manager he claimed that the front desk was supposed to inform us that they were to mention this. Well they did not and he was so 'kind' to give us another half an hour. If we knew that we would pay that much do an hour we would have never paid $50 to take our 2 boys bowling here. Today I went to main event in Gilbert and I was doing my thing, playing the arcade games and one of the games I played was skeeball and there were no balls in the machine and I noticed they were stuck on the other skeeball machine so I went to grab them and another guest sees me get the balls unstuck and I told him that there were no balls on my side and so he said"do t be a jackass" and I'm like I'm just getting them unstuck, and so hen a few minutes later, the manager Carlos walks up and says a guest complained about you climbing into the machine etc... and I told them that the balls were stuck and I just went to get them unstuck and then Carlos brought a few other managers and then he said that I had to leave and I was trying to finish my game and then he pulls me off of the game, and escorts me out and then I tried to ask for my game card back and they said no. So then they called the Gilbert Police and they filed a trespass notification and so now they banned me for 1 year which is absolutely ridiculous just because I was trying to get the balls unstuck so I could play the game, they had to call the cops and ban me. So now I can't go to this location, it was a great location and still is but when Carlos kicks you out and I'm trying to give them business, it's really unnecessary.
