This place is of the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives variety. It's an old school diner like a rail car, smack in the middle of Plainville. We usually go for breakfast, which is always my goto place if I go out for the most important meal if the day. Today, we snuck in around closing time, but the waitress kept it open for us to get a bite before the snow storm. I had a tasty Pastrami sandwich with fries. I rarely give 5 stars, but all things being equal, this place deserves it for what it is. It's the type of place that has regulars who sit in the same seats every day. The breakfast food is slightly more expensive than a normal breakfast joint, but compensates by huge portions. If you are within a town's distance of this place, it's worth the trip. read more

Last time before today that I was in this diner was 1991. If I step foot in this diner in the next 26 years it will be too soon. Wasn't' feeling well. Just wanted some comfort food. Ordered a grilled cheese with chicken and rice soup. Grilled cheese was fine. Soup should have been celery and carrot soup with a dash of rice and chicken. 5.49 for a bowl of soup and 5.99 for a grilled cheese with no fries. Oh and nearly 3.00 for a coke that was mostly ice. Prices here are outrageous. Waitress that was probably co owner with her cook husband was also quite rude. My wife's meal was even more over priced. Dead of winter and was very cold in there also. They are not open 24/7 like some bigger diners are, though I bet they could be and do some good business. Located right in the center of Plainville. Parking is available in a lot close by or there is plenty of street parking. This location is not wheelchair accessible, from what I can tell. It's a railcar style diner with stairs at the door. This place has recently started operating under new ownership, and I've only been there once since, but I can tell you it was a great breakfast! read more

The most absolute worst service from Pam I over heard her name was. My dad and I were very excited about coming to the diner because we use to be regulars when I was a little girl, it was part of my childhood coming there. However we were very disappointed when she ignored us and I had to call her over and ask if she could please take our order then after she ignored us all through our meal not asking us if we wanted refills or anything. We went here 2 weeks ago. The service was a little slow but they were busy. Understandable. We placed our order, food came out ample time, was decent... I got cheese omelet and fiance got scrambled eggs with cheese. Nothing like having a fork full of food ready to go into your mouth and then you spot it. A nice piece of hair. I made sure it wasn't cheese by pulling on it. I called waitress over and told her the problem, she proceeds to argue with me that it's cheese, I did the pull test again, then she says well nobody in back has that color hair. I don't think I should have to do a line up to match the hair, we used to go here maybe once a month now we will never go back. What a great place for breakfast or lunch, brings back memories of the old time lunch counters and even has the jukebox in the booths to add to the ambiance. We came here after an early gymnastics competition because we were hungry. Of course I used the Yelp app to find a good diner in the area. The diner is a traditional, old fashioned, "trailer" styled diner. My wife and I loved it for it's nostalgia. It had the mini juke boxes at the tables. I don't know if they worked or not. Anyway, we ordered breakfast. Simple and basic, eggs home fries and toast and pancakes for the kids. The plate of pancakes had a hair on it and when we pointed it out to the waitress, she rolled her eyes and took it back. Because of the position of the table we had I could see back in the kitchen and when the cook asked why he is redoing it, he also rolled his eyes. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. My friend was visiting from out of state, so I figured we could catch up over a nice breakfast. The waiter took forever to come to our table, and he smelled like he had just smoked a whole pack of cigs. He also looked like he would rather be dead than working there. After taking our orders, he left and we waited. And waited. And waited. Despite being one of the few parties in there, it took almost and hour for us to get our omelets, and when they came out, they were ice cold. When I asked our waiter to warm them up, he assured me that "They all come like that." Finally, the prices were ridiculous. It came to over $25 for a weak breakfast.
