Love this place. The food has been consistently on point for years. They have a vegan black bean burger which is really good. They also have the best gluten free bun I've found within 50 miles and they have all the gluten free options labeled on the menu which is really helpful. Standard American food with some Cajun specialties tucked away in a strip mall in Edwards. It's under 10 minutes from Avon/Beaver Creek, so we drove over for dinner after a day of skiing. It was pretty busy when we arrived on a Thursday night but we quickly got seated (party of 4). Service was very friendly and helpful - I asked our server if I should get the fish and chips, burger, or chicken fried steak and she surprised me. I ended up getting the fish and chips which were delicious! The fish was very crispy but not oily, and their sweet potato waffle fries are big and crunchy. Being from Houston, we were skeptical of their Cajun options, but my boyfriend tried the jambalaya penne pasta after reading rave reviews on Yelp and they didn't steer us wrong! Came in on an early Saturday evening in the summer, they sat us on the back patio, where you can hear the river nearby, and beautiful views. The red beans & rice were legit! Perfect seasoning, very authentic, great presentation. Their chef must be Louisiana-trained, it was that good. Being from the South we know good creole. This is the go-to place when visiting Edwards or Avon, CO. Right in the middle of awesome shopping, this place offers a comfortable and affordable dinner / lunch option. My group of friends tends to call it the "meatloaf place" because of its amazing meatloaf. We all know what each other are talking about when we refer to it as that because the meatloaf is that stinking good! They also have great buffalo burgers, chicken sandwiches, creole jambalaya prepared in a few different ways, and some of the best steaks you will ever have. Their caprese salad is AWESOME and should always be shared before a meal. It is the traditional caprese consisting of mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze paired with roasted romaine... which they do a nice job on. (I still dont understand how people cook lettuce without making it soggy) This place has a cozy atmosphere, amazing service, and offers a wide variety of meals so that everyone is happy. It also wont break the bank like many restaurants around here. We will continue to go to "the meatloaf place" every time we are in town. read more

I don't like peas do I didn't try. Meatloaf just okay. My husband tried the Ribs since it was rib night, it came with fries and Coleslaw. He said it was just okay, ribs a little chewy. Because so many restaurants are having difficulty hiring workers, the restaurants in Edwards are struggling to serve all who want to be there because of lack of workers (thanks Mr. Biden!). We cannot say enough good things about Main Street's owners and staff!!! They were absolutely RUNNING to serve all who wanted to eat there tonight! Many restaurants in the area have closed for at least 2 nights a week because they cannot find staff. The Main Street staff did an amazing job in spite of lack of staff! There were several NFL games playing on the various televisions but things were quiet enough we could have a conversation - good. The place was half full of what we eventually deduced to be locals. There were enough people on staff that service should have been good but it was REALLY slow. They also seemed to be generally confused. They have all the usual pub fare - burgers, meatloaf, fish and chips, etc. The food was decent, once we finally got it. The bar tender did make the effort to find a keg of IPA even after he informed us he was out. The locals may be perfectly tolerant of the speed of service (good for them if they can live life so slowly!). Main St. Grill has a great patio on the Eagle River. I've brought several "out of town" guests to this local spot because 1) It is within walking distance to our house and 2) the view from the patio is great. But I just can't quite give Main St. Grill 4 stars. The food is good, but not outstanding. The menu is a mix of Cajun/creole favorites like gumbo or jambalaya, and typical sandwich/burger/wraps. It's a bit pricey, but in the Vail Valley, what isn't. The real reason I can only give three stars is because the servers always seem to be angry. Not angry at me, or any of the other locals, but angry at the tourists at the other table. I can empathize...tourists can be wearing, but they are also your bread and butter and if you can't learn to keep your chin up even when "guy in loafers with no socks" is complaining about his cocktail, then maybe you should seek another profession. Whatever the reason, I've yet to visit Main St. Grill and see the clues of a happy, functioning restaurant. Martini/Mussel night on Monday's is still a great way to enjoy the patio, but be careful not to piss off the staff...the rest of the clients in the restaurant will be looking at you. read more
