Best sandwiches ever!!!! The Hot Ace was INSANE, highly recommended. Perfectly tangy and structurally sound :) Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Definitely come here if you find yourself in Placerville!!

Great sandwich's and great service. I got the little Philly sandwich with au jus and loved it! 5 other in my group got other sandwiches and everyone was very happy. Lots of outdoor seating. I appreciated they had unsweetened iced tea. And gave me a big cup with ice.

We came through last month after taking our pup to the snow. Great spot to stop and grab a sandwich! Their patio is dog friendly and the staff were so sweet to our little guy. He is 10 months old and it was his first visit to a restaurant. He did great and loved all the pets from other patrons.

Bacon Mac N Cheese~ Ok now this is delicious! A nice and creamy mac n cheese, with crispy flavorful Boar's Head bacon!

Hubby and I were looking for a great lunch spot and spotted this small local business on Main Street. To drink we both ordered a Barsotti Freshly Pressed Apple Cider. I'm in love with this delicious premium cider and there's a reason why it's so addicting! It's made local in Northern CA with 3 different apple varieties of 100% juice and no added sugars or preservatives! For lunch we split the Big Bird, Grilled Massive Double Meat. The Boar's Head chicken is nice and tender and not to mention flavorful! The sourdough roll as well, with a nice avocado, cheese-pull worthy havarti and nice spice to the chipotle as well! For our side we both ordered the Bacon Mac N Cheese. Ok now this is delicious! A nice and creamy mac n cheese, with crispy flavorful Boar's Head bacon! I would highly recommend this large shareable side! I would highly recommend this 5 star worthy sandwich shop, we sat outside on a nice day and there was plenty of seating available! The sweet staff member working was helpful and we're definitely looking forward to returning with big appetites! SYOY!

One of the best sandwiches I have had in Old Hangtown (Placerville)! I had the Angry Irishman. It was delicious. It's a grilled sandwich with Corned Beef, Pastrami, Cream Cheese, Havarti, Caramelized Onions, Jalapeños, and Hot Pepper Spread all on beautifully grilled Sourdough. Service was friendly. Inside seating is sparse. Just a few seats at the bar, and a table.

Awesome staff that accommodated our requests. Sandwiches were on spot especially when you add the grilled onions. My associate got extra pastrami on the Big Bird and that was a beast. My avocado on rye w/ grilled onions was good. Wonderful outside dining and a chill local vibe. Another spot to drop by and Enjoy. read more

We decided to stop in cause we heard the Caesar Salad was off the hook. About 2 minutes after we got there - it was obvious it had so much more to offer. One quick scan of the brews on tap and a glance at the menu should give one a clue some thought has went into this place. All of that was before we were greeted with some of the friendliest wait-staff in Hangtown. William was quick to fill us in on some of the creations and craft beers - gave us room to think (and drink). Our food was amazing. The beer was outstanding. The service was incredible and the patio bar watching the Hangtown foot and car traffic was just a bonus. Thanks for a great hometown place. read more

I've been here a few more times since my initial review and I have to say I have been pretty disappointed. Not only do they take forever to make your sandwich, but the last time I was here my sandwich tasted really chemically -- like they cleaned the grill with something and didn't get it all off before they started cooking. On top of that, my bread was soaked in grease, which leaked through the paper it was wrapped in and got all over the table and my hands, making it completely unappetizing. read more

We stopped to have a quick lunch and found this gem. They are a small restaurant with delicious sandwiches. I had a Reuben which was the best I've ever had. My husband had the Ham and cheese which he really enjoyed. I have had many Reuben's and this was by far the best. The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff is very friendly. We will be back for sure. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant because it's my cousin's favorite so I picked up a gift card for her and my husband and I got lunch. I wasn't super impressed. First, why is the floor so crooked? It was making me nauseous which seems like a weird thing to bring up but really, it's hard to walk inside. Two, the wait was really long. Three, I dislike hot sandwiches and asked that mine was cold which I would think would be easier but it arrived popping hot which to me is gross. My husband likes hot sandwiches, he liked his just fine. read more

Fast service, fresh bread, delicious sandwich! Stumbled into this shop on the way to South Tahoe with friends and so glad we did. There are many choices of hot and cold sandwich options. Good sandwiches, but a little pricey for what it was. Probably wouldn't recommend if you're Covid-conscience. Every single person behind the counter was wearing mask as either a chin diaper or under nose. Highlight was definitely the nice patio and friendly service. read more

Got take out for our family of four- great experience on all levels. The on-point lady who took our order via phone nailed the accuracy & read it back spot on. Thankfully, it was a perfect sunny day to stand outside for our order (a pro-side to Corona quarantine regs). Food was made w/fresh, flavorful ingredients & the breads were fresh and didn't get soggy despite our 10 minute drive to our home. Soooo badly wish I'd ordered the larger Angry Irishman since it was beyond expectations. Even made w/out corned beef ("just" pastrami - not a problem). Again, supply issues thanks to Covid I can't ding a small business for. My mom-in-law said her cold turkey sammich was one of the best she'd had in her 60+ years. Can't wait to go back! read more

This is a great little sandwich shop right on the main road. We got two build your own sandwiches. Both on sourdough rolls, one with turkey, the other the chipotle chicken. Very fresh and tasty, and you get to choose four veggies to add. Chipotle Chicken was delicious, and the toasted bread was the highlight of the sandwich. The turkey was great as well, however we should have got toasted bread for that one as well, as the cold bread is a bit too soft for our liking. We were able to sit outside on their spacious patio. Overall, a great place to enjoy a delicious sandwich. read more

Got The Avocado - crispy bacon, did not skimp on the avocado. Toasted to perfection. The angry Irishman - tons of flavor happening, pretty solid sandwich size. Mac and cheese - one of the best I've had and an excellent portion size. Potato salad was a good addition for the angry Irishman on the side - also super tasty and not over mayonnaise. Only one pet peeve... why do so often close early?!? The hours are already abbreviated, so I when I race up there at 3:40pm (closing 4pm) or call to order, it's VERY FRUSTRATING!! The last 3 times I've either gone there or called after 3:30pm, it's been closed. Nancy & others involved in the family business, I hope you see this and make a change. It really puts people off. When you have advertised hours you have to be there the whole time!! Otherwise, I LOVE this place! Great food, nice people on staff, good selection of beer. We walked up and down mainstreet looking for lunch on a drizzly tuesday and just were not inspired by what downtown had to offer so we kept walking and found this delightful spot. I had the angry Irishman, my partner had the turkey havatari, grilled. Both sandwiches were great, a lot of meat and flavorful, a good beer list, heavy with ipa. Been going here for years. It's the Best sandwich and beer combo spot between sac and Meyers (south Lake Tahoe). I have a dog and love that most of their seating is outside that's pet friendly. BUT not a single worker wears a mask and most of them are young so if they've caught COVID-19 they'll probably be asymptomatic and passing it along to customers. So if you do eat eat here then take precautions-don't line up closely, try to spend as little time inside their register area and order a hot sandwich. Five stars for the food and beer. 1 star for the COVID preventions measures. read more

I have gotten many friends and family hooked on their Angry Irishmen. This sandwich is truly a game changer! Their staff is always friendly,and accommodating. Prices will raise your eyebrows, but the quality speaks volumes of why. They have many draft beers and other adult beverages to suit your tastes and the patio area is a great place to relax with a great lunch. read more

*Dog friendly!* What a fantastic place for lunch! Outdoor seating area is really unique with seating wrapped around a beautiful tree. The seating outside is a mixture of bar seating and tables, good for a quick bite or longer conversations. I don't think there is any seating inside (I think maybe one table) so if your planning on eating here make sure it's nice out! They offer a great selection of beers on tap which is a plus on a hot day! As for the sandwich, delicious and huge! Big bonus is that they use boars head meats, my absolute favorite. Bread was fresh, the sign of a good sandwich! Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, seemed happy to be there. We spent $20 on two sandwiches and 2 drinks, which seems very reasonable coming from the Bay Area! Wish I could have hung out here longer! read more

Came across this place on the way up the hill. Saw they had good reviews and wanted to try it out . I go inside and order and as I'm standing there with two other gentleman waiting for their food, I notice NOBODY that works there was wearing a mask or gloves. I saw everyone touch, different condiment bottles, tongs and then grab bread out the bag and continue to make sandwiches. I ended up getting a refund and leaving with no food. I don't know how during COVID they are getting away with that ! read more

We were headed to a place I was familiar with and while going down Main Street saw Burning Barrel. I quickly hoped on their website and rattled off a few items and we pulled into the closest parking lot and made our way over. The restaurant was empty of guests and the young man at the counter was welcoming, asking if this was our first visit, and showed us the food and drink menu and the board of current craft beers. I chose the Longhorn (tri tip) sandwich and fries and a Lillikoi Mai Tai, and the spouse chose the Pastrami Sandwich and a beer called Dank. They do not do table service so after ordering we grabbed a seat. This is a pretty large open space with an outdoor patio, several roll up doors and misters at the outside. Shortly after sitting down a server came over with our meals. I started with a french fry, and I have to say these are the best french fries I have ever had, in my life time. I don't know if its the way they cut the fries, the way they are seasoned, what they are fried in or all of the above, but they were delicious! Our sandwiches were outstanding! Both were incredibly flavorful and filling, and even after I was full I continued eating because everything tasted SO GOOD. The drinks were excellent too, so good that we ordered a second round. The young man at the counter also made my mai tai and did an excellent job. About halfway into our meal other guests started to arrive and by the time we left there were at least 4-5 parties of guests in the restaurant. I will absolutely return, and highly recommend Burning Barrel. I was also pleased to see that they have a Rancho Cordova location, which is a little closer to my home in the Valley. Thank you Burning Barrel for the excellent food, drinks and customer service! You made our great day even better!

They brought me ranch without charging me extra, which I really appreciate. I sat at the bar and the bartender Victor did a great job. He was attentive and hard working. The restaurant is spacious inside, and has comfortable seating at the bar. Overall five stars.

But light didn't mean skip lunch. Looking at the menu, I had the: Little Philly - London Broil Roast Beef, Provolone Cheese, Grilled Onions and Pepperoncini on a French Roll. $8.95 The sandwich was a good size. I took a bite, not bad! I took another and tasted the Pepperoncini. Usually I don't like them in my sandwiches, but this time I left them in. They gave the sandwich a little more flavor. The offered us some au jus, but I eat messy enough and declined. The sandwich was better than we expected. There is free wireless, but you have to ask for the password. One major down side: no restrooms here! read more

The first really nice thing about Melters is that it has a parking lot by it. You don't have to find parking along Main Street and walk. The workers are really helpful. You can tell they love their menu and the product they put out. I've never been disappointed with the quality and taste. The room where you order is small and it has the menu, drink fridge, soda machine but no tables. You eat outside on this super cool patio where they have tables and bar tops with umbrellas to block the sun. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. It's a little pricy for me but it is quality product. read more

Very friendly, unique, family ran business in the heart of Placerville. Great sandwiches hot or cold. My favorites are the Angry Irishman and Caprese with turkey added. If you are looking for a place to sit outside on Main Street with great food, kraft beer and nice people...this is it. I love to bring my pup here on a sunny day to sit on the patio and chill. For having lived in placerville for 18 years, I have yet to come across a place like main street melters. The sandwiches are made to the Tee. They take their time making them, and you can tell when you sit down to eat. Alex, will, Kelsey and everyone else who works there is awesome, always smiling and whip some great sandwiches. The sandwiches are EXCELLENT!!! Beers on tap are the bomb and they just added a few more. This is not "subway". Sandwiches take a little while to make but are well worth it. Plan to sit and enjoy your lunch and beer, otherwise hit up a drive through. read more
