I visit about three or four times a month. Clean cute little restaurant, with consistently great food and service. I love the dumplings, but my favorite is the spicy crispy chicken. Just the right level of heat, and fried to perfection. The sweet sour cabbage is also a must try. I'm really loving this new dumpling spot. I think this place is better for takeout. We did eat inside that day, there are a few small tables I would not come here with a large party. They also serve all the dishes in plastic containers and disposable silverware. Overall we sat down. We ordered our food via QR code, and the lady promptly brought everything out. We got the combination dumplings, these were my favorite! Very delicious. We also got the Xiao long Bao, I'd say these were decent, but not the best! I think I have like some flavor in the dumpling filling and soup. I think the skin on both of these were very light so that is my preference. We also got the cucumbers - I probably wouldn't get these again. They're just kind of soaked in vinegar. There's a variety of dishes, I'll definitely be back to try the others. This place is delicious! I was just next door taking an exam when I realized it was about to be lunch time and with the rainy day a ramen plate sounded good! I had the spicy beef ramen and it did not disappoint! The spicy broth was rich in flavor and color with bok cooked to perfection. Been here multiple times and it is always delicious! The orange chicken is by far the best I've ever eaten. I especially like that they offer more than just pork dumplings as I don't eat pork. Major Dumplings takes over a location used to be where the worst Pizza Hut I've ever known was, and it's definitely a massive upgrade! It specializes in noodles, appetizers and....you guessed it, dumplings. I've been here twice already and have always found the food I've gotten, from the fish and chive boiled dumplings to the beef rolls to the spicy dan dan noodles, to be really solid and well valued (especially in Diamond Bar) Chinese comfort food, although I have to admit they may not be the exceptional variations of those foods when compared to places nearby in Rowland Heights. I love this place, no long wait like other popular dumpling places and the food is so much better. Service was good, that poor girl was running around by herself but she did really good. What we tried: Xiao long bao, lamb dumplings, dry noodle, beef noodle soup, kung pao chicken,garlic kelp and cucumber appetizer. My absolute favorite has to be the lamb dumpling, we devoured that in no time, Xiao long bao was nice and juicy but too bad no ginger. I love their appetizers the garlic kelp was so garlicky and the cucumber was seasoned perfectly and still very crunchy. My husband also likes the Kung pao chicken, it was different than fast food very nice taste. Dry noodle and the beef noodle soup were really good too, but the house chilli made the soup perfect. It's a very new Chinese quick casual restaurant. 10/10 with the packaging for takeout btw. Loved the variety of dumplings and snacks. We ordered online which made the process quick and easy. Service was quick and nice. We ordered a pretty big spread between 3 ppl: XLB, spicy dumplings, shrimp&pork dumplings, 2 dan dan noodles, and a beef pancake roll. Everything was really really good. We were happily surprised. It's not really "traditional" but a yummy updated version of some classics. The sauces are all a bit different than you might be used to such as the dan dan sauce and the spicy dumpling sauce. But it was really good. Especially the spicy dumpling sauce. While their dumpling sauce was already good, we ended up dumping the other dumplings into the leftover spicy sauce. The beef pancake rolls were so good, we wished we ordered a 2nd one. Our only gripe was the ridiculous amount of cucumbers in the dan dan noodles. There was no option online to remove it and only 1/3 of us ate cucumbers. So it felt like a waste. I loved this place. The restaurant is very clean and a nice atmosphere. Service was great too. Not a very large place, with just a few 4 seater tables and two larger tables for 6-8 people. There was one server when we went and she provided excellent service. The food was exceptional! We started with the cucumber salad and also the garlic seaweed salad. Both had great flavor and I really enjoy the slightly crunchy texture of the seaweed. For our main dishes we got the pork soup dumplings which were perfectly steamed and had a great taste and texture. Also we ordered Kung Pao chicken which was delicious, but slightly oily from the cooking process (I would order again). One of the standouts was the beef roll, which had a slightly sweet and salty flavor and great texture. The chili oil was exceptional too and paired well with everything we put it on. The cucumber salad, potato salad, and orange chicken were all really good! The orange chicken especially brought back memories of a recent trip to Hong Kong. The fried rice came in a smaller portion than most Chinese spots, but it tasted homemade and didn't have that artificial seasoning, which we actually liked. We'd definitely come back. Taking off one star just because the fried rice portion was on the smaller side, drinks were served in cans (so no refills), and the menu was pretty limited. If the name of your restaurant includes your flagship dish, you better knock it out of the ballpark on first bite. Unfortunately, Major Dumplings barely makes Junior Varsity. Adding to the disappointment I was eager and optimistic to visit this new dumpling house, as I was famished. I ordered the pork potstickers, which are a test dish that I try at all restaurants. At $8.99 for six, they were painfully expensive. We are at the $1.50 per dumpling level. Inflation sure stings. But for a real guo tie, i am eager to pay. You gots to pay to play. But sadly their dumplings are small and forgettable. The skins are thick and have body. The wok hei is almost non-existent. The dipping sauce is flavorful but can't carry the entire dish. Since dumplings are easy to make with very inexpensive ingredients (come on....pork butt is $1.99 a pound retail), their margin is enormous and they clearly made a decision where they want to play in this economic game of dumpling mongering. With competitors like BaFung dumpling, they verily will get spanked. On the flip side, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is a plus. The packaging for takeout is very upscale, but I'd rather the effort be in providing value and quality. Given the owner and chef can easily tweak the dumpling and menu to provide more dumpling for the buck, Major Dumplings still has a chance. But without some major changes, I cannot see myself returning. Sadly, I feel my perspective will be shared by others. Good luck. I hope your lease is not too long. read more

Service: 10/10 You will wait if you don't call ahead. The dumplings and food is made to order. The cashier was very nice and attentive. Food: Overall 9/10 Dumplings: 9/10 The juicy and fried dumplings were excellent. I'd order again any day. Noodles: 9/10 Noodle dish was packaged to go separating the noodles and sauce from one another. Great idea as it keeps both fresher while you drive home. Mixing to coat the noodles was easy. Both sauce and noodles were very good. Beef roll: 9/10 Very fresh and delicious beef roll. No complaints. Overall experience was excellent. We will be back. This place is so delicious. Stop by there today with my daughter and her two toddlers after soccer practice . I had the lamb and the pork dumplings OMG they were delicious. My daughter had the Gyoza and potstickers . She was pretty happy with her food as well. The place is small, but there are tables if you want to eat there. There was even enough room for grandma and the toddlers to have a little dance party to the country music that was playing when we were there. All in all, I love the food and the ambience. I rarely leave any bad reviews because I feel bad that it would hurt small businesses. I usually try to get things straightened out with the business as a form of constructive feedback. But when I talked to the owner, she was very disrespectful and rude to me even though I asked very kindly. I was told that my food would be ready in 20 minutes, but after 40 minutes have passed I asked the owner for an update on my order. She rudely responded to me and pointed to her ticket orders and said "can't you see we are very busy!" I didn't talk back to avoid any confrontation. I just kept quiet and went back to my seat. I noticed that she was packing food for multiple orders. Some of my items were ready but still waiting to get other dishes. The chefs were pushing out food not in the order received. They were pushing out food for multiple orders. The restaurant opened at 11am and I placed the order soon as it opened and my order was submitted by 11:07 am. But I still kept quiet and didn't say anything. When I finally got my food after over 45 minutes of waiting and took it back home, my dumplings and beef rolls were cold. They had been sitting at the restaurant for a while before my order was completed. For my soup broth, I had to microwave it. The only thing that was warm and fresh was the fried rice. I live less than 10 minutes away from the place so the drive shouldn't have affected it. I tried ignore these issues and enjoy the meal with my family. But I decided to give the restaurant a call to give feedback. But the owner was very rude to me and told me, "what can I do..., it's lunch time rush and it's very busy. She told me if I was not happy to bring the food back for refund. I told her we had already started eating the food and it's doesn't feel right to pack everything and bring them back. So she told me there's nothing she can do. I wasn't even looking for a refund. I just wanted to provide constructive criticism. But after the owner's rude responses, I felt that the poor customer service needed to be addressed. The owner refused to even acknowledge me. I was just completely shocked with the responses that I got. Very disappointed with the customer service.. I can usually overlook bad customer service if the food is exceptionally good.
