Our rep didn't think through the job and asked the day of install about our baseboards then claimed it was a "client change" to the job. I didn't think of the baseboard situation as I don't do this for a living. There sales rep did not do enough due diligence guiding us through our vision. The wood floor itself is great and high quality but the rest was a nightmare. Don't have them do anything other than flooring - their light construction and painting is honestly incompetent and terrible. Lastly, new carpet for our family room. They upsold us a super plush pad then failed to write it up correctly. When I asked why the pad was not correct (after install) they acted like I'm a carpet pad expert and I ordered the blah blah blah 8 pound something or other. They were wrong, got it wrong, I opted not to PAY to fix it so I'll live with it, I guess. Overall, terrible experience but it could be the rep I got. Totally uncoordinated and a lack of communication for what we needed for this project. Very disappointed since we used Soleil as a referral from a friend.

All seemed to go well initially the carpets were ordered and fitted, everything seemed fine. Then I started to get emails saying the invoice was outstanding and I was due money. This was a problem on so many levels but the main one was I did not pay for the carpets and could not go back to the person whose card was used to get proof of payment. What really annoyed me was the lack of remorse shown by the firm, no apologetic emails, just, you are due us money , pay now threats. When I asked the perpetrator of the emails to escalate the matter I got push back! Eventually the matter was escalated and after some email exchanges things went quiet for a few months, I wrongly assumed that Flooring Warehouse has resolved the matter internally or used common sense not to pursue the sum outstanding ..... then threats started again, this time of legal action. Talking to other business owners they said they would have owned the mistake and written off the sum outstanding (50% was paid upfront). Not with this lot, they seem to have little regard for their reputation or the inconvenience and stress caused to the buyer as a result of their own incompetence. Buyer beware, use someone who values their clients and puts the customer above their bottom line. The customer, after all, is always right.

While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. Umesh took on my project of installing approximately 1000 sqft of artificial turf, metal edging, and black star gravel around some cypress trees. Roughly a month before starting, I expressed to Umesh my desire to have the project completed in time for our family's annual crawfish boil, which he assured me he would fulfill. I can't say enough positive things about Umesh, Lucas, and their crew. As we neared the date of my family's party, Umesh assured me that he would push to make the deadline, even with unpredictable central Texas weather. Umesh not only kept to his promise in finishing the project in time for our party, but also knocked it out of the park! The artificial turf looks incredible and instantly became my daughter's favorite place to play. Umesh and his crew put a level of detail into the project in ensuring every aspect was perfect for my family. As pleased as I am with the project itself, the most noteworthy aspect I want to highlight in this review is how Umesh does business. In a world where so many are looking to cut corners, charge more, and provide less, I found that Umesh is a man of immense integrity who keeps to his word. Umesh delivered on his promise to ensure my yard was immaculate for my family's party, but most notably, his promise on pricing. A day before our turf was set to be installed, Umesh was notified by the turf company that the turf we picked out was no longer available (with zero warning). Umesh was forced to upgrade the turf at a difference of nearly $800. I offered to split the difference with Umesh but was told: "Nah man, it's all good. I like to keep my word and pricing. It's not your fault." This really struck me that Umesh was willing to eat $800 in order to keep his word with me on pricing. I hired Advanced Tile Solutions to re-do the flooring in my new construction home prior to me…read moremoving in to it about two years ago. Since then, it's been an uphill battle trying to rectify the massive amount of damage the company and the owner caused to my home. First, the owner, Albert, was never around to supervise his employees. I know nothing of the flooring industry but when his team wasn't even using tile spacers and left the grout lines uneven I started calling the owner to come supervise his employees. His response? "You can supervise them yourself, it's your house and they should listen to you". The extent of the damage doesn't stop there. The grout itself was mixed wrong so it immediately started flaking. There were sheetrock damages to some of my walls where his employees had run equipment into them and left holes. The baseboards were painted over with the wrong color, cracked, and left damaged. My counters in the kitchen and my bathroom were damaged and the only good thing I can say is that at least the owner paid to get those fixed. Let's talk about the stairs next. My stairs started falling apart within the month that they were tiled. The pictures I uploaded show that there is no tile on the stairs even though the owner promised to fix them almost two years ago and still has not. I have several text and email conversations with him promising me that "in time" he would fix them. Again, it's going on two years and he hasn't completed the project and has resorted to screening and avoiding my calls, meanwhile, the concrete board that goes below the tile on the stairs keeps falling apart. To add to all this, I bought over $6000 worth of materials that he used and I haven't even received a reimbursement on the materials so I could at least hire another company to demo and re-do my home. I have a signed contract with him promising a one year warranty on all his work that he has yet to make good by, which, by Texas legal standards, is completely illegal so it looks like I'll have to take him to court now. In a nutshell, my entire home needs to be re-done and the owner is taking no responsibility to fix it. He did try running it through his insurance but his insurance provider didn't cover the damages because it was so negligently done and they don't cover negligence. Until the owner takes responsibility of the damages caused to my home I would say look elsewhere for a true professional.

They have completed tiling on the first floor on the entry and kitchen and formal dining room, 1/2 bath and laundry room. Granite for new countertops being fabricated as we speak as well. Still trying to coordinate new kitchen cabinets. So far everything they have done has been beautiful work and they have all been very friendly and in good spirits like they enjoy their work! They arrive on time and get to work. We are living in while this is ongoing so they also make some allowances for us still being here. Nice little touches that still let us use everything as much as possible. We packed up all the little stuff into big plastic bins from Home Depot. they move the bins around and the furniture and stuff as needed. Big win there. I will post pics of the Master bath as it is done. Saw work they did years ago for my wife's boss and it still looked great! I was able to source the bathtub and plumbing fixtures and vanity and mirror and lights from Amazon. All he hinges and door knobs and fixtures changed to brushed nickel throughout the house instead of brass. Always willing to work with you on "touches" that make a difference in aesthetics. I can't recommend them enough at this point.

I know, like you, I did not think they could get any worse..so so very wrong. I just lifted my couch to see that the safety gliders- you know the round things on the bottom of your couch used to protect your floors?- I now have FOUR HOLES in my floors where the gliders were. The floor has actually crumbled away completely in the exact shape of the protection gliders. It is clear and obvious that the overlay material the owner used must be incredibly cheap. We know dozens of families who all have concrete floors and not one of them has had the crumbling and chipping issues we have. Please, for your own sanity, use any other company- avoid this one at all costs. **** 1/20/2011 So a year later....we have lived with the floors for a while now. We are still having scuff issues but not as bad since we switched to a matte wax (per the owner's recommendation) as opposed to a high gloss. Still having major chipping issues, just found several more in my kitchen yesterday. The over all too dark, too reddish and splatter marks are for obvious reasons still the same so there isn't anything that can be done about that. Unfortunately, the samples he made us on 4x4 tiles were thrown away so I cannot include a picture of them for comparison. They were a medium tan color not reddish in the least. Which as you can see from the attached pictures, our floors are very RED- which we specifically asked to avoid....and they are very dark, which we specifically asked to avoid. You can also see from the attached pictures on my account page, it is pretty impossible to determine the finished color once the stain as been laid down but not yet blended. The problem with this is, the stain is already laid down so there isn't anything else you can do- you really have no idea what the end result is unless you do this as a living...which we don't. The owner responded that we lived 45 mins from town so that is why he was late every day. He would leave each day and tell us what time he would be back for the next day...our house wasn't moving overnight, not sure why he was still over an hour or more late every day. What time he arrived is pretty insignificant in the whole realm of things. Our issues are the overall color was nothing like the tan sample (and as he said, he can't really control that tho other contractors have said that is not true) and the fact that the floors are not holding up to normal wear and use. If one of my kids accidentally drops a fork it guarantees us yet another chip. It's so disappointing to pay a lot of money for floors but now have to constantly baby them.

Concrete polishing came into its own around 2009-2010 in the Austin area, and I really liked the option because it avoids coatings. It has served us well for six years now and is by far the best floor surface I've ever lived on as far as durability, ease of cleaning, and day-in, day-out good looks. It's not a fancy floor, just a super-practical one that blends into the background when supported with nice rugs and furniture. The upfront cost, while not cheap, was comparable to laying hardwood, which would not be a practical choice on our main living floor. And the smooth, matte-finish, exposed aggregate we now have ought to last indefinitely. I recommend Jason and AllStar unhesitatingly. We love our diamond-polished slab concrete floor with the exposed aggregate and gentle luster.
