    Spicy Beef Jerky $34/lb
    Andie E.

There are many Beef Jerky places in Manhattan Chinatown; competition is fierce! I've always gone to Jung's Dried Beef but recently have tried two other places: Ling Kee Beef Jerky and Malaysia Beef Jerky. Malaysia Beef Jerky is pretty good: -- it's more reasonably priced than Jung's Dried Beef ($52/lb) but prices aren't as good as Ling Kee Beef Jerky ($30/lb). -- Their "spicy" beef jerky is so flavorful and spicy. -- Texture is more like a pressed meat, and much more moist that the others...maybe too moist? So if you want Jerky, they're all pretty good but there is a clear winner among the 3 Jerky places. My ranking of the 3 main Beef Jerky places in Manhattan Chinatown: 1.Ling Kee (superior) ($30/lb) 2.Jung's Dried Beef ($52/lb) 3.Malaysia Beef Jerky ($34/Ib)

I loved to snack on bakkwa and Bee Cheng Hiang when I lived in Asia. This reminds me of BCH although not as close. Still, I enjoyed the quarter pound of spicy pork (not jerky). Service was patient and efficient.

This Malaysian style beef jerky was a pretty interesting snack stop in Chinatown. Definitely different from the typical American jerky most people are used to. Instead of being super dry and tough, the meat was thin, slightly sticky, juicy, and packed with a sweet smoky flavor. The texture almost felt closer to grilled meat than dried jerky. Cool little shop to try something different while walking around the area. I could see some people loving the sweeter style more than others, but overall it was tasty and worth trying at least once.

There's nothing like Asian beef jerky and this spot specializes in it! You can buy as much or as little as you like while being charged by the pound. For 1/4lb, it's $7.50 equaling $30/lb. I ordered 1/4lb Beef Jerky and 1/4lb Spicy Pork Jerky, which was 4 pieces of each. The beef jerky ended up being heavier so I think I ended up with 3/4lb in total instead but it's all good since this stuff is delicious! They also wrap it up in wax paper and then plastic as it can be quite oily. To be honest, the beef and pork tasted quite similar with the beef tasting a bit meatier. I also didn't notice much difference between spicy and non-spicy. If you're picking one, I'd just stick to the classic pork jerky here. It's a great snack and trust me, you won't be able to have just one! I love how fresh these jerkies are too. You can see them grilling them right in front of you. It's a delicious eat that you can save for later too since I know you're probably full from all the other Chinatown eats in the neighborhood.

This moved from their prior shop, which I think was on Elizabeth. Still wonderful jerky, but the prices have gone up a bunch! I wish they had a fruity beef jerky, but they said that's not in the plan for now. A tasty treat - especially fresh, but not cheap! Like the pork jerky the best! What a wonderful fragrance :)

As a Malaysian Chinese, this is the CLOSEST thing I've had to Malaysia's famous Bee Cheng Hiang. Sweet and savory and thin, absolutely delicious. I bought a pound to go home too! Friendly local service, and a cute store where you can see the employees fire up the jerky!

A cool shop in Chinatown for some handmade jerky, where they grill it in house! Not only do they have been but they also have pork and other meats. I would highly recommend enjoying these warmed up at home. It's alright cold.

Malaysia Beef Jerky 59 Mott St. New York, NY 10013 Spicy Sliced Beef Jerky The outer packaging may be plain jane, but this thinly sliced beef jerky was phenomenal. Served in a white paper bag, this thinly beef jerky was phenomenal. The flavorful, tender, chewy snack was really satisfying. One bite will never be enough! #chinatownnyc #chinatownlowermanhattan #malaysiabeefjerky #spicybeefjerky

This might be the most underrated snack in Chinatown. They make Malaysian Chinese-style jerky at Malaysia Beef Jerky, and it's not your typical jerky - it's soft, tender, smoky, and sweet. It's closer to smoky barbecue candy than the dry, leathery jerky most people are used to. They have pork, beef, and chicken options (I like the pork one the most). The flavors are bold but balanced, not too salty and not too dry. Everything is grilled fresh right in front of you, so you get it warm with a slight smoky char, which makes a big difference. You can eat the jerky with congee or just snack on it. Tucked right in Chinatown, Malaysia Beef Jerky is a family-run, multigenerational spot that makes everything fresh daily. The jerky are sold by weight, making it perfect for a snack or a souvenir!

My nephew loves beef jerky and when we passed this place I knew he was going in to check this place out. I personally am not a fan of dried beef jerky until I came here. There was really a nice selection of beef, chicken, or pork jerky. They also offered spicy jerky. Everything was just so fresh and you buy it by the pound. He bought the regular beef jerky and it was so tasty. The beef jerky was warm and tender. It was so delicious. Not that typical dried hard jerky that I normally stayed away from. This is definitely a place that I will be coming back to on my own.

Found this local store when walking around NY China town. The lady was nice to let me try their jerky. However I found it a little too sweet for my taste. Anw if you like sweet jerky l, I would say give it a try

I did not realize they moved!! I think they used to be a block over on Elizabeth... and I actually thought they closed. But passed by and I blinked 2x... this is their new location. Tucked away in a small cozy stall closer to Bayard. Same aunties churning out delicious jerky! My favorites are the spicy and non-spicy pork jerky. It's $15 for 1/2 lb now... but you can mix & get 1/4 lb of your picks. It's plenty for a snack.

Asian beef jerky is so good! It's not like the overly dry and hard jerky you get from bagged products. I've been buying from this spot and another nearby older shop for years and they're both delicious. Spicy pork is the go to, but the beef is good too. Super tender and packed with flavor and just a small amount of spice. The only downside is that it is $30 per lb now, but it is a still a go to snack that I get any time I'm in the city and something I bring back for the family. Unlike the other spot, they also have an online shop if you're craving it, but unable to get it in person or if you want to send some to others to try. Best to eat your jerky within 3 days or refrigerate it. I'd be surprised if it lasted long enough for you to need to refrigerate though because these get straight up devoured in my family.

Just an FYI, they only had the RW lunch menu (no dinner) which consists of a 2-course lunch for $60pp. They open at 11:30a, so the hostess sat us by the bar right away while they got ready for the day. The bartender made sure to let us know that he'd be ready if we needed anything. We were seated in the first floor dining area and a server came quickly. While we were looking over the menus, another server came and gave us bread and water while we waited. Here is what we ordered from the RW lunch menu: - Yellow fin tuna tartare: Calabrian chilies with crispy shallots - Green goddess chopped salad - NY Strip steak: medium - filet mignon: medium rare Here is what we ordered outside the RW menu: - whipped potatoes - dry-aged porterhouse meatballs - double espresso - chocolate cake stand: amarna cherries, sliced crunchies, malt ice cream Everything was made to perfection and the serving sizes were generous. It's great to see that I enjoyed my experience in the past and again recently. The servers worked well together to make sure that the patrons had a great experience. Highly recommend. Mind you, we choose the standard (1st option) out of the 3 choices. Food: 7/10 We ordered beef brisket, jowl, and bulgogi for the first round. The meat was pretty good quality. Jowl was cut into thick slices and has the perfect crispy but soft bite to it. If you haven't tried jowl, you are missing out. It's better than pork belly in my opinion. Atmosphere: 6/10 Large restaurant space. A lot of people coming with friends and couples. It is loud inside so be aware. Service: 6.5/10 Good service. They were quick to bring out our food. The worker cooks for you which personally I dislike. I felt very rushed in eating and when it was done cooking, the meat was cold cause I'm a slow eater. Otherwise, everyone was nice. The set menu was per person but seeing my children, the server accommodated us by allowing us to order a set meal for two and not requiring us to order full sets for our two children as well. We ordered the Chef's Tasting menu as recommended. This came with plentiful of sides dishes, a scallion salad, a scallion pancake, and a choice of stew. The pancake was very thin and crispy. I think I am used to denser pancakes. The egg soufflé was delicious, much more flavorful than others I have tried. This set came with three cuts of pork. My favorite two were the pork jowl and pork belly. We also ordered a side of corn cheese, which is always a favorite for the kids. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!
