I don't know how they make this shit so good. It's sweet and slightly spicy and deeply savory and flavorful. If you're thinking American beef jerky, that isn't what this is at all. It's much softer and meatier, definitely not a shelf stable product. It comes in perfect little squares. I find the different meats kinda taste the same, and there's little difference between spicy and non spicy. But the seasoning glaze or whatever they're putting in this stuff is a really beautiful balance of sweet, spicy, savory, salty. Great to have around the house as a satisfying protein rich snack. It was a small shop and we went inside the shop and look how many we want to get. So we paid $6 for 4 piece jerky. We decided to share. The spicy pork and non spicy pork jerky taste just okay to us. It wasn't taste like Malaysian style, I guess we can't expect much the taste to be similar like in Malaysia. The staff attitude was just ok when she's talking to us and other customer. Loved the flavor of this beef jerky that is sold In sheets. Quarter pound minimum but you can mix flavors. Quarter pound adds up to about 4 sheets. I tried the sweet chicken and sweet pork. The paper envelopes are labeled so you can remember what you purchased. I couldn't tell the difference between the two meats. The flavors were good however and it was the right sweetness. i've been coming here for years, but never really thought about reviewing this place until now. i've lost a lot of good spots due to the pandemic, hopefully, this one hangs on for as long as possible. the shop makes their jerky on premise and i've seen them loading/unloading the grills a few times. they offer beef/chicken/pork jerky in spicy and regular versions. they are neatly placed in the display case and with the prices clearly listed. you can order it by the 1/4, 1/2, or a whole pound. i usually get the pork or beef jerky and the staff would put stickers on them to differentiate them. i thought that's a really good touch. as far as taste goes, it's FRESH, slightly smoky, sweet, and had just the right amount of bite. it's definitely lightyears ahead of what you'd find in packaged jerky: dry, tough, leathery, with questionable choice of seasoning. highly recommend this local, mom & pop spot if you're in the area! read more

I haven't had jerky like this since I was a kid so I was really excited to try it out! The store is a hole in the wall kinda spot where they grill the jerky right in the front of the store. They have both the style that's made from ground meat which is the Malaysian style, and the type where the tendons run down the length of the jerky which is like the type that you find at American grocery stores. My wife and I got a quarter of a pound of the Malaysian beef jerky and a quarter pound of the Malaysian spicy beef jerky. The spicy beef jerky was amazing!! It's sweet and a little spicy, and had a great smoky flavor from the grilling that they do at the front. The jerky is tender and delicious! If you buy a few pieces, they'll put the jerky in a wax bag so you can consume immediately. I like to buy the jerky by the pound and bring it back home to MD. If you buy large quantities (no price break, sadly), they'll vacuum seal the bag for you. My go-to's are the Spicy Beef Jerky and Spicy Pork Jerky. They cut off the burnt edges so the pieces are square and juicy. These are really soft and easy to eat. If you want some toughness to the bite, get the Sliced jerky. The sliced ones are more "traditional" in the sense that there's thicker and have the shredded texture. The sliced ones aren't as juicy, but equally delicious. ASK FOR SAMPLES! Point is, the jerky here is reminiscent to the kinda I grew up eating. It's worth bringing down 8-10 pounds of this stuff to share with my family. read more

The spicy chicken jerky is my favorite, though there's really no favorites when it comes to jerky. Get me any one of them and I'll be sure to devour it in a matter of seconds. The taste and quality has been constant through all these years and every bite I take I am reminded of my childhood. They have chicken, beef and chicken jerky in spicy and no spicy but the spicy is very mild so I recommend it to even people who don't like spice. It's sweet, salty, chewy and moist. When you think of jerky, there's different textures. Some are a bit softer to chew, while others are a bit tougher and really feels like you're working for it. This one falls under the former and has a very easy texture to chew on. The flavor is a little on the sweet side so I would recommend a spicier version to get a piece with various levels of flavor. No surprise, the pork ones are a bit fattier than the beef ones, and that's why I chose that one. You're allowed to try any of the pieces, so make sure you do! Their eye candy display also shows off all the different types of jerky (chicken, pork & beef) and you can see them cook it right in front of you. Parking can be a challenge depending at what time of day you go but there are parking meter spaces around. The staff are nice and accommodating even when we asked for a specific dollar amount of jerky instead of their traditional quarter, half or 1 pound increments. The jerky is grilled over charcoal in front of you, which results in succulent, sweet, and savory jerky with a slight char. My favorite flavor is the spicy pork jerky-- the slight hint of spice sets it apart from the other flavors.
