Best sushi in Malibu! The food is outstanding - Nobu quality fish. Sit at the sushi bar for an A+ experience

Sat at the sushi bar and service was great. I understand why they have so many good reviews. The orange chicken was excellent, which was quite the surprise. The sushi rolls were good. Very delightful spicy tuna crispy rice and halibut sushi.

We ordered takeaway from this spot - my boyfriend was working nearby and brought the order home. We tried the Malibu Roll, Lox Roll, gyoza, and seaweed salad. The lox roll (called a "philly roll" elsewhere - salmon, cucumber, cream cheese), the gyoza, and the seaweed salad were on point. The Malibu roll (lobster, crab, amberjack, lemon, and more with sliced jalapenos and spicy eel sauce) was phenomenal - fresh, flavourful, and beautifully plated, even in takeout packaging. Every item was boxed properly and we received napkins, chopsticks, and sushi condiments. The wait time for the order was fewer than 15 minutes - my boyfriend barely had time to drink a Sapporo there as he waited to pick it up. With such delicious sushi and a pleasant and efficient staff, I'd go out of my way to come here if I was in Malibu. Great casual option if you don't want to get gussied up for Nobu.

The Mango Poke here is so delicious. All the ingredients are very fresh. It just adds on to the beautiful weather here in Malibu. I'm so glad I decided to try this place. Service is great as well. Thank you for a wonderful lunch. You have got a very happy customer here.

Double Spicy Tuna (Special sprinkling of adorable masago on it).

This is my go to for faaaaabulous, well crafted and superb rolls especially the Shiso Luna. Incredible No way Whhaaaat? Heaven Like buttah! It's layered so well that the roll separates in an oh-so-amazing journey inside my mouth. Unbelievably well done! I have never never ever eaten halibut (top layer) and yellowtail in a roll that did not but instead tasted so superb. With the mysterious shiso to pepper it up! So fresh. So fresh! And let the record show ... Chef knows I love Kama, so he got sous to freshly cut one up for me. And by golly! Quiet please. I need to pause and delight in this. No one can take this heaven away from me. Not on a mundane Monday! Not even if LA is celebrating downtown for the Dodgers. I love the Dodgers and am so proud of them ... but my love for Howdy's Sushi ... no can do. I'll watch you on YouTube Ohtani-San! ps Double Spicy Tuna - a very simple and popular name for something NOT a single sushi place in Malibu (wink wink) can match. The miniature (artistically crafted) sprouts on each piece - wow! How does chef do it! This is Michelin star level... but shhhh. Yes Images included. This time I didn't forget. So great. So great!

Very limited seating inside since it's a tiny space. They have 11-course omakase for $120. We got: 1) 3/5 spicy tuna crispy rice cakes ($15) - which my family didn't like, but I thought it was decent. 2) 5/5 mango poke bowl ($24) - I been craving poke for months, been years since I've had. The mango was really fresh, firm, balanced with sweet & slightly sour flavors. The fish was tuna & salmon I believe. Comes with raspberries & blackberries. Salivating as I'm typing. I can def eat another bowl. Too bad Malibu is so far. 3) 3/5 three hand roll combo: spicy toro, yellowtail & salmon ($30) - these are pretty standard 4) 3/5 classic bento ($30): Cali roll & cucumber salad, 3 nigiris, shrimp & pumpkin tempura. The shrimp tempura was the best thing in the box. It was so good, we got an order of just shrimp tempura. Everything else in the box was pretty standard. 5) 5/5 shrimp tempura ($14) You know it's good when you don't even need sauce. The batter was so crispy.

Best service. Vano here is the MAN.

Food incredible. Service incredible. It felt like Christmas even though it was Thanksgiving and I loved that.

What a cute hidden gem in Malibu! This restaurant took me by surprise because I was very skeptical at first but now this is my go-to place for sushi in Malibu!!! Kane and Josh were our servers and they were so attentive! A+++ for their customer service! Kane recommended the Malibu roll which was spectacular! Loaded with flavor with a zest from lemon and mint! Definitely recommend getting the sashimi bc the fish here is so fresh! There's a lot of parking and seating is limited in the restaurant

Beach day + Malibu Seafood has become a tradition for me…read more A quick heads-up before you go: be patient. Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

I've been coming here since they first opened, and it's remained a favorite for a reason...it never misses. There are a few things I consider completely non-negotiable, and the surf and turf roll is one of them. It's just that good! And if you love yellowtail sashimi, theirs is consistently fresh, delicate, and beautifully done. I always add extra jalapeño's, but do you. We went as a group of five and shared a bit of everything (the only way to do it, in my opinion), and there were so many standouts. The pumpkin tempura was unexpectedly addictive, and the scallops we had prepared two different ways, were absolute perfection... the kind that just melt the second they hit your palate. What really makes this place special, though, is the full experience. The service is warm and polished without ever feeling overdone, the cocktails are crafted just right, and the outdoor seating has that relaxed Malibu charm. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to, and quietly recommend to people who appreciate when things are done right.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki and subbed sushi rice for salad (the chef paired it with the most amazing seaweed salad), and my husband ordered the salmon bowl and subbed sushi rice for mixed greens as well. The salmon was soft, melted in your mouth and truly on par with the salmon I had in Japan!! The chicken was delicious as well - and the veggies paired with it in the bowl were really tasty. The seating area could use a bit more work, as I felt like the food felt authentic and a hidden gem but the prices for the dishes were on par with that of a sit-down restaurant! My boyfriend and I got there and she told us to wait for a table to open up then she would seat us; however, we looked and saw multiple tables open and she even sat another party who came after us. We had to ask another server if we could be seated and they seated us shortly after. Vibes: you sit pretty close to other parties and there are a lot of tables in the area. We have been to Clarks in Montecito several times and enjoyed the food and experience. I'll start…read morewith the positives. The location is great and outdoor seating is nice. The oysters are fresh, and there is a nice selection. The sourdough bread is lovely, served with delicious- butter, salt and radishes and it is complimenttary which many places no longer offer. Service had issues because a couple of dishes were not what we asked for but thankfully they fixed the issues. Even still my husband tipped 100% because that is who he is. I ordered the crab claws and they should be removed from the menu. I did not send them back because we had already had several issues and at that point I decided I would only return to this location for an iced tea and shrimp cocktail if I were in the area. Most of the claws were inedible, full of black slime, dirt, and who knows what else but it was disgusting. There is no other word I can use to sugar coat this. These are not stone crab claws from Florida if that is what you are looking for but they are stone crab claw pricing. It had zero flavor, and I couldn't eat half the bunch. The sauce, however, was perfect. But I wanted to enjoy the crab, not the sauce. We had the Greek Dorade fish and for $58, it was embarrassingly tiny. Less than an appetizer portion. Not a meal. The fish itself tasted wonderful but it needs appropriate pricing, even if it is shipped from overseas. $58 made no sense for a palm-sized fish. The wedge salad is just ok. The ranch should be more elevated. I love ranch, but I did not enjoy this one at all.I will not leave less stars than 5 because I don't believe in hurting a business because I genuinely want to see this place thrive. However, I do believe in taking feedback seriously and making changes.
