ABSOLUTELY will I NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. The worst service I have ever experienced. 630pm reservation and we didn't get served until 845pm. We have frequented this restaurant several times with family and friends. We made a reservation a month or more before Christmas Eve. While everyone was parking their cars, I went in and they tried to seat us next to the kitchen. I didn't like the location and was told that all the tables were reserved. There weren't that many diners there and after she conferred with just about everyone, she moved us one booth away. We ordered drinks, appetizers. They arrived timely and then we ordered our entrees. It took quite awhile and I noticed two waiters passing our table with 2 dishes that looked like ours. They turned around to take the food to the kitchen because they were unsure where they went. So one entree and one side came back and were put down. Then the entree for our guest arrived. My sister was sitting there with her side getting cold and I had no entree. I told them to go ahead and eat. I don't know how long we set there, but out of frustration, our guest got up and went to find our waitress, who had been absent since the appetizers were put down. A waiter came to the table with the waitress and asked us what we ordered. I said ask our waitress, she is standing next to you. She looked at her pad and they both disappeared. At this point, none of the dirty dishes had been removed and our water glasses were empty. Still the restaurant had not gotten busy....lots of empty tables. Our waitress appeared and apologized and said our dinners will be right up and asked would my sister like a new order of fries that had gotten cold. She came back with them but still didn't remove our dirty plates. I finally got my entree and the waiter removed the dishes and poured water. We waited for my sister's entree, her side got cold. We were finishing our dinners when her dinner arrived. At this point, we were just done and wanted to leave. The manager came over and my guest said he needed to comp the dinner since the whole experience was awful. He threw up his hands and said ok. Very Very good food. KAnd Cooks should not eat and customers see them. Servers should not be pulling up their sagging pants while serving. Servers should not be scratching their heads rubbing nose while serving. Servers should not sneeze in hands and not go wash them!!! Sorry. I've been there 3 times and saw all this. read more

This place was a great find! It's in a big shopping area and parking was a little tricky. The door to go inside said something about 'hot chicken' on it. It was actually an entrance to the back of the restaurant, kind of strange. We made reservations but didn't need them on a Friday evening at 7:30. The service and food were spot on, see included pics for what we had. The espresso martini is not creamy, if you prefer a creamy one just ask and they will add some Baileys...it was better creamy in my opinion. Overall great place, we would eat here again if in the area. I would give it 4.4 stars if I could. read more

Great food, Small Portion Sizes though, would like to see bigger sizes for what you pay for. Service was decent, not as bad as some places, took about 20 min to get food and we were seated before our reservation. Service chain could definitely use improvements, waiters wiping down tables (shouldn't be), busboy confused on where to bring food, brought some wrong food, one busser in total. Men's bathroom was a total mess, one of the soap dispensers was broken, other didn't work. Nasty bottle of lotion on counter, overflowing trash bin under sink. Paper towel not in the dispenser but as a roll on the counter. read more

If I could give this a 10 stars I would and Tennessee hot chicken sandwich lives up to its hype amazing 5/5 perfect.

Our first impression was that the hostess took us to the table and put the menus down without even looking at us and just walked away. The food was below average for the price. The steak was supposed to be 4oz but it was so small although it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mashed potatoes were almost room temperature, although the flavor was good. The chicken was a little bland but was cooked well. Our waiter was very good and looked like he had too many tables. Watching the staff he was the only one that seemed to be busy but efficient. Key lime pie had a good flavor. Pretty sure we won't be back, I'd rather eat at Tupelo Honey. Same type of menu, better prices, and better vibe. Maybe it was too soon and they haven't worked out the kinks yet. read more

Visited this location and was treated like a second rate citizen by staff by management and certain negative and rude staff members. I witnessed staff members at the host stand speaking loudly and poorly about other guests. Loud distasteful music was played in which staff was dancing and singing loudly to, which to me, for a restaurant that wants to be perceived as more upscale is "ghetto" and unprofessional. Slow business and long wait times for food despite empty restaurant. If you're looking to have an experience where you're treated with dignity, please keep looking. read more

I was excited to try mallards as I think most of their menu looks delicious. I was pretty underwhelmed by my dinner there tonight. I was seated by myself as I was waiting for the other person in my party to arrive. I sat for probably 6 minutes before I was greeted by the person who brought water. I felt like that was way too long-I've worked in the restaurant business and have always followed the rule that you greet within 2 minutes. I ordered the lobster roll for my entree, with Cajun fries and my friend ordered the crab cakes. Our food arrived and it looked great. The roll was small but it looked like it had a good amount of meat, and big chunky pieces. As I looked further, it was a little deceiving as the lobster was placed on top of a large mound of lettuce. I took my first bite and was overpowered by salt. Hoping it was just a salty bite, I had some more:...but each piece was just as salty. It was not enjoyable, but our server wasn't really anywhere to be seen so I wasn't able to mention it to her. The Cajun fries that came with my sandwich were good. My friend said her crab cakes were fine. Overall, the food wasn't great, the service wasn't great and the overall ambience wasn't anything to get excited about. The decor was very similar to the old restaurant that was in the space. A little too bright and kind of generic. I won't be rushing back with so many outstanding restaurants to eat at in Milwaukee. read more
