This is the worst customer service I have ever had at a dealership in my life. They do NOT follow thru after the sale.

They lied and told me on the phone that putting a patch on my tire would be $50, they ended up charging me $80 for it. Would not recommend.

The lady checked and quoted me two prices: flooded battery is $179 with 2-yr warranty and AGM battery is $230 with 3-yr warranty. I stated I would go go the AGM. She told me the battery had to be delivered to their MD store from their VA store. I agreed and told her I needed the battery that day as I had secured someone to install it for me. She said no problem call me back at 5pm and I'll confirm if it's been delivered or how far they were away. I called her back at 5pm and she said the driver was minutes away from the MD store and I should head to the store to purchase the battery. I headed to the store and advised I was there to purchase the battery. That is when I was told the battery was $279 with tax it was $297! I told the guy I was quoted $230 by that lady in the VA store. He tried to lower it to $255 plus tax but would not honor the $230 price even after calling her who also confirmed she quoted me $230z. I was left driving around store to store trying to find a battery before stores closed at 6pm to ensure I had it in time to have it installed that evening. FRUSTRATING! Lost a customer and earned a BAD review too! Olympus do better! Honor your price quotes - that's what a good business does!!!

UPDATE: After posting this review, I received a call from…read more Melvin Reyes, Assistant Service Manager. He gave me a credit for the services that I felt I was misled about. I'm altering this review from 1 to 3 stars because I want to credit the dealership for making this right. But I'll leave the original post for the record. ORIGINAL POST I've been servicing my car at BMW of Alexandria for about 10 years, and up until now I've generally found the advisors to be straightforward about what is actually required versus what is optional. That's why this experience was so disappointing. At a recent visit, I brought in my 2021 BMW 330i (about 25,000 miles) for a recall and routine service. My advisor, Jhett Nealy, recommended several additional services and presented them in a way that clearly implied they were appropriate and timely for my vehicle. Based on that representation, I approved them. Those services included a coolant system service and a fuel injector cleaning--together several hundred dollars. Only after the fact, when I took the time to review BMW's actual maintenance guidance, did it become clear that neither of these services is part of BMW's condition-based maintenance schedule at this mileage. In other words, these were discretionary, dealer-driven services--not manufacturer-recommended maintenance for a 25k-mile car. I followed up with the dealership over text, and the responses I received (which read very much like AI-generated boilerplate, but regardless represent the dealership's position) only made things worse. Instead of pointing to BMW documentation, they justified the services by saying "Google" and "most BMW owners" recommend doing them around 30k miles--and even suggested doing injector cleaning every 20k miles due to "local driving conditions." That's simply not credible. A basic search shows widely inconsistent, non-BMW sources--generally suggesting 30k-45k miles for injector service, not 20k--and no standardized interval at all for coolant. More importantly, none of that is BMW guidance. Substituting internet opinion for manufacturer recommendations, and presenting that as "recommended maintenance," is misleading. The core issue here is not that optional services exist--it's that they were presented as if they were appropriate and necessary at this mileage. That crosses a line. When a customer is relying on the advisor's expertise, that distinction matters. By the time I fully understood what had happened, the work was already done. At that point, it's not a conversation--it's a sunk cost. Trust is everything in a service relationship, especially at a dealership. For years, I felt BMW of Alexandria largely respected that. This experience with Jhett did the opposite. If this is now how the service department operates--blurring the line between required maintenance and revenue-driven recommendations--then I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm sharing this so other customers can make informed decisions and ask more pointed questions before approving work.

It goes without saying that when you purchase a Jaguar, you expect to pay a premium for service…read more.. fact accepted! However, Jaguar of Alexandria should revisit its service strategy when it comes to fair and honest customer care. Here's my experience: Several months ago, I visited JOA for a basic oil change and to address an intermittent cabin noise. I completely forgot that my vehicle had a maintenance warranty, which should have covered the cost of this service. My service rep never reminded me about the warranty, informed me they could not reproduce the noise, and spent most of his time trying to sell me tires. Apparently, one tire had a slow leak, which I later had patched elsewhere for less than $20. After paying their ridiculous price for the oil change, I left. Months later, the noise persisted, and it was time for another oil change. This time, a different service rep immediately informed me that my maintenance warranty would cover the oil change and other routine checks based on the mileage. "Dammit! That's right, I do have a warranty," I exclaimed. He confirmed this but added, "Unfortunately, since you didn't use it during your last visit, you forfeited that service. This visit will be your last one under the warranty." WOW. The last rep had truly done me a disservice. After diagnosing the noise, this rep told me the repair wasn't covered under the warranty and would cost about $1,000. I found that hard to believe, so I decided to get a second opinion. And guess what? He also tried to sell me... you guessed it, TIRES! Yes, this again. Clearly, JOA's main objective seems to be creating costs outside of warranty-covered services. I then took my vehicle to another Jaguar dealership. They repaired the noise, calling it a minor issue. Problem solved. My suggestions for JOA management: * Fully address the client's concerns without pushing unrelated services. * Drop the aggressive sales pitch on overpriced items. * Always honor active warranties. Recommendation level: Use only as a last resort.

I also brought two mail discount codes I had received--one expiring at the end of October and one in November. Each coupon clearly stated it could not be combined with other discounts or incentives, and the October one specified a maximum incentive of $250. My service representative, Melvin, insisted the maximum discount was only $200 and seemed skeptical when I showed him the printed offer. He said it would be applied at checkout, but the interaction left me uncertain about whether my coupon would be honored properly. When I returned the next day to pick up my vehicle, I was disappointed by the treatment I received at the cashier desk. The woman at the counter was dismissive and unprofessional, questioning whether my car was ready and informing me there was a 3% fee for using a credit card. I explained that I was paying with a debit card, yet the total still showed a surcharge. When I asked when it would come off, she curtly said, "When you pay, it will go off." When I mentioned that she was being rude, she apologized but continued with an unfriendly tone--and even handed me the wrong keys. To make matters worse, while my car appeared to have been run through a car wash, it was not wiped down afterward--there were visible water spots and streaks on the windshield and windows, leaving it looking unfinished and careless. Overall, this visit was disappointing and unprofessional, lacking the courtesy, attention to detail, and hospitality expected from the Land Rover brand. I've received far better service at the Land Rover dealership in Minneapolis, where the staff were genuinely welcoming, helpful, and proactive in guiding me through maintenance recommendations. Based on this experience, I would not recommend visiting or purchasing from Land Rover Alexandria, as it fell far short of the high level of service I've come to expect from Land Rover dealerships.

I stood for a moment looking around before approaching a service advisor myself. My invoice listed my advisor as Aki, so I introduced myself and let her know I had arrived for my state inspection. She confirmed my name, asked if it was for a state inspection, took my key, and told me she would let me know when my vehicle was ready. About an hour and a half later, I received a text saying my car was ready. When I returned inside, my invoice was folded on the counter with my key on top and I was simply told, "You're all set." After getting into my car, I noticed my phone charging cord and dash camera cord had been unplugged (which I understand may be policy). While plugging everything back in and starting the car, I realized I had forgotten to mention that my vehicle has had a key system error message on the dashboard for some time. I walked back inside minutes later. Again, no one acknowledged me, so I waited for my original advisor to become available. When I told her about the dash error, she responded by saying "Yeah, I saw that." I was surprised that this was never mentioned to me earlier, especially since it had apparently already been noticed during the service. I asked if there was anything that could be done, and she told me I would need to schedule another appointment for a diagnostic scan costing around $200, which would take a few hours. What stood out to me most was the lack of communication and customer service throughout the visit. In the past, when I've come to this dealership, the experience felt much more attentive -- even small touches like a quick vacuum or dash wipe were done. None of this was even done to my car this time. After reading my invoice later, I noticed a note stating "upon write up saw key system error message on display." That made it even more surprising that it was never brought to my attention during the visit. I've worked in customer service since 2009, so I understand the importance of communication and acknowledging customers. Unfortunately, this visit felt rushed and impersonal compared to the level of service I've experienced here before. I would appreciate management reviewing this experience and working on improving communication with customers in the service department. Because of this experience, I will likely not return to this location or recommend it to others. (Invoice # NICS534607)
