This place is located in Tustin. While we were in there, there was some iPhone notification playing constantly that we assumed to be a notification for when someone placed an order. It drove us nuts. Having to cook meat using only chopsticks was hard since we would constantly lose the meat when we had to drop it to cook the part actively being grabbed by chopsticks. As there were no better utensils available it would probably be better to order skewers. This place is a PokéStop. However there was no cell phone reception inside which was a problem because ordering was done through a QR code. When we notified them of this they offered us the use of their wifi. They also had some kind of bar available with sauces and other desserts. Because I had such trouble cooking I tried to eat more from it as its offerings did not require cooking. Self serving sauce bar has tons of ingredients to mix with, if you don't know how to make the sauce, don't worry, they do have couple options on top of the sauce bar for you to pick! All the skewers are inside the refrigerators are ready for you to pick, from veggies to meat, most likely everything you want, and you can also order other dishes from the menu, and the server will bring it to your table. I was a little surprised to find that MBB decided to open up in a quiet plaza in this part of Tustin, but it was a good surprise since the location is convenient and the parking is plentiful. We went on a weekday evening and was happy to see that there was no wait. You place your entire order through a QR code on your cell phone and visit the sauce bar. The restaurant is clean and new, and the decoration and ambience makes you feel like you've been transported to Asia. The parking lot and area are not a depiction of the experience you will receive, and when you walk in through the doors of Malubianbian you should be prepared to be wowed. I came here tonight with my family and friends and figured it'd be just a regular Wednesday night outing, but this hot pot place took me to flavor city and blew me away with its' customer service. Ordering using your phone after scanning the QR code is simplicity itself, and everyone can order from their phones because the menu is live synced to each phone! How amazing is that? Everything on the menu is cheap, unique, and comes with high quality and flavor too. It's nice to be able to not have to ask if this friend or that family member wants some of this or that, because you just add it to the order before it gets sent in. Our food came instantly and once we started eating, we kept going and going. Ordering more is just as easy with the same steps, and it's hard not to when your hotpot is boiling and you can't stop eating the amazing food. Customer service is simple but phenomenal, which is exactly how I like it. I don't need an employee to walk over every few minutes or so and ask how I am doing or ask if the food is good every time. Simple is what I need, and these employees were extremely kind as well as attentive. Everything we needed, we got within moments after waving someone down. They were able to convey that they were there to help us, and to satisfy our palate. The people that helped me tonight were amazing and I wish I had their names so I could commend them. Friendly staffs both on the phone for putting my name down on the waiting list and at the restaurant. It's my first time here and I ordered way too much. We past by accident and saw a huge line. Like everyone, it's must good. So many people chatting and waiting so we decided to join the wait list for a party of 6. It's around 5 pm and we assume we can get in quickly but no we waited for an hours. Reason, there are not a lot big tables but there are a lot of small. So party of two people get in very fast. We had kids waiting in the car so that it was hassle to entertain them. When you get seated, you surrounded by art and lights. Pretty cool. We ordered through our phone. Well it did not work well because Atat signal was weak. We ended using my mom phone which was Verizon which worked like a charm. Now the ordering is like a list that go down. Just click add to cart. Once we added to cart and finalize our orders. Food come out quick. We got the mild spicy half and the mushroom soup the other half. The mild was not mild. It was spicy because the spicy oils coated our food and we barely to touch it. We knocked one star out because we couldn't control the boiling soup. Two instance, the spicy soup shots into my two kids eyes. We splashed water to our kids right away. We ended up calling waitress several time to add water to soup to avoid boiling too much. Food were goods, service was good, and service were. Prices were cheap. Parking is limited. If you read this far, we give you a secret. The cart that they place the foods has a drawer near the table, pull the drawer out you get unlimited napkins and utensils. There are more stuffs in it. read more

First of all, I've been eating mlbb for the past few years (Rowland Heights and Tustin locations) Everything's were great until recently they've automatically charged you for tips service for this location, which only for 3 people dined in. To be honest, I don't really mind if they add in the tips but only if they deserve it. Before, with all of this going on, the food was great, and customer service was outstanding. But now their CUSTOMER SERVICE is very, very bad. I guess they don't need to treat you good because they'll charge you for tips anyway. This is unacceptable. I'm a regular customer. They recognized our family every time we come in, but now they switch their faces. I was curious at that time, I even turned and asked my sister, " Is it just me, or is the service today really bad?" I guess they figure they dont need to put effort into their service because they will receive our tips anyway. We felt uncomfortable to the point that we didn't even want to bother and ask them if we could have more water to drink. That's how bad the service was. I'm not sure what the owner meant, I got the wrong locations. I used to eat mlbb at several locations. I'm not making it up. To be honest, there's no point for me to make up these things. As a customer, I want you guys to make good profit and create good customer service so that customer can keep coming back and can recommend them to their friends. If you are open up to an honest review, then maybe take a careful look at your employees first. I was searching for a good hot pot place and this came up. I decided to check it out. There wasn't a wait during lunch time. We sat down but the server gave us a QR code and told us to order from there. So I waited but the server never came back. I walked up to him and he said that I have to order from my phone and press submit. Afterward, he will bring whatever we ordered to the table. (Aside note, do we tip if literally there was no service?) I got the prime meat, lots of sticks and vegetables. It's not all you can eat so yiu have to order everything. There's a salad/sauce/dessert bar, and if I remember correctly, we have to pay a small price for it as well. All this adds up, especially if you want to feel full. Even the broth costs money. It is the prettiest restaurant in the entire plaza, very nice place to take cute pictures while having delicious hot pot/skewer. I recommend the skewers because the pot is deeper than normal, and it is easier to pick up the food than the traditional style Chinese hot pot. read more

Lived in Tustin over two decades, hardly seen any Chinese(especially for those who know about this restaurant) hang out on this side of town Am surprised this kind of Chinese restaurant will open at this sketchy strip mall. Anyway, went there around 5pm on Sunday, plenty of seats. Food good, tomato + mushroom broth good, sauce bar selection good, service good, place clean. Love the mini sesame balls, would love the staff to refill them faster though. The bill for the three of us was $89(tips+tax included). No complain there for being our first time trying it out. Thought I should finally leave a review after coming here for like the 10th time lmao. Parking: located in a decent size plaza so there are plenty of parking Service: they provide your table with a jug of water, so I never really ask for water refills. They also have napkins, wet wipes, and more on the side of your table as well, so you can just get it yourself. Their sauce/salad bar is also self-serve, so I feel that you don't really need much of a service here. I do feel that they're pretty good at emptying your tables and checking up on you though! Food: You order by scanning the QR code at your table and then you can help yourself to the sauce/salad bar. I recommend getting chicken feet, black fungus, edamame, and sesame balls! My boyfriend loves getting desserts. I usually end my stay with orange slices as well. When they say their soups are spicy, they mean it!! I usually get their non-spicy soups (mushroom is my favorite) and just add some spicy stuff from their sauce bar. Here are some of my skewer recommendations: -chicken gizzard (my favorite!!!) -wagyu beef -garlic beef I always leave satisfied after coming here and I also really like the decor/color scheme!
