The restaurant is inside a grocery. It's a pretty hole in a wall place, but the food is delicious. The service was quick as well. I got Tocilog and a coconut drinks with Shanghai Lumpiang, they were all delicious. I'd definitely be back again.

needed to find a place to bring some lumpia to work and found this spot. great price and good food and super nice workers!! definitely will be back

Ordered from them for uber eats because I was just craaaaving some Filipino pork! The $0 delivery fee talked me into it. We got lechon kawali and sizzling sisig with garlic rice and egg. The saltiness and crisp ones of everything hit the spot! The meals traveled well and were still warm on arrival. Even the fried egg survived the trip and was still runny! I will say I've had better sisig at other places- this version had more fat/cartilage pieces than meat.

Easy stop off the highway after a few turns and boom.. you're at Mama Rosa Grill! Order ahead for pick up, in person on the spot for carry out or dine in. There's a mini grocery section in the back. The food is amazing. I picked up a few snacks and sauces. The dining menu has a lot of variety from breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also do catering. I plan to keep this on the rotation.

One of the only places for real deal Filipino food in the area. Being Filipino-American my standards were also super high. This place is solid and deserves more attention. Ordered a tray a lechon and lumpia ahead of time and came here to pick it up and get dinner as well. Unfortunately despite calling they had no idea of our order and was not prepared at the allotted time. Thankfully they said they would prepare it right there as we ate dinner. The food itself was great! Got the lumpia (spring rolls), sisig ( sizzling pork dish), and lechon ( roasted pork). All of it was really good and I have high standards for all those dishes. Our tray food did come in fresh after dinner so no foul on that end, but will have to take down a star for that. If you want real authentic Filipino food, would recommend!

Amazing spot! Great food, prices, and staff! So far we've tried their grilled chicken, bbq skewers (pork and chicken) along with their potato salad and garlic rice. All delicious! Definitely want to try their other food items such as their lumpia, lechon, adobo, halo halo etc. and the list goes on. There's a small grocery store in the back with Filipino groceries as well. Looking forward to my next meal from here!

We were looking for Filipino food in the area and came across this one nearby. It's bright & clean & overall very welcoming. I was happy to see they had vegetarian options on the menu so I ordered the sizzling tofu to try it out & it was delicious. The tofu was perfectly crisp & the sauce was savory & sweet. We also got the veggie lumpia & taho. The lumpia was ok but I liked taho, not too sweet. We enjoyed walking around the snacks & frozen section after we finished eating. I really enjoyed our experience & would go again!

Fresh sabaw / broth

Ordered takeout from here. The woman at the counter was very friendly. This place was easy to park at & locate. The outside is very unsuspecting, but the lady inside has a full seated restaurant area as well as a market. I honestly should've taken some time in the market, because I cannot get these items at home. The bbq pork skewer was REALLY good - juicy and tender! The fried pork belly was also good, and I ordered the grilled pork for tomorrow. Garlic rice is life changing. I will definitely be back!!!

I've been wanting to try James for a few years now and FINALLY got the chance today!…read more After a long day at work, I called my order in and made the drive to the restaurant. James is a local establishment that features traditional Filipino dishes. My personal favorites are pancit, adobo, and lumpia. The restaurant is located in the back of a shopping center that is currently being renovated. I've come to the shopping center dozens of times, but never realized James was there until a few years ago. The restaurant is so quaint and cozy. I felt like I was in someone's home and they were offering me a nice home cooked meal. The servers were very kind. I bought my own bag for my food (the restaurant charges for bags). My order was ready almost right away. I was handed my food and I proceeded on my way home. I settled on the Canton style pancit. It had chicken, shrimp and deep fried pork belly laid on the top. It originally comes with egg noodles, but I asked to substitute them with rice noodles. The rice noodles were well seasoned- I didn't need any fish sauce, pepper or any other seasonings. The shrimp were baby shrimp, which was fine with me. There were small diced pieces of chicken that were tender and well seasoned. I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of pork belly. It's a bit on the fatty side, but it does add flavor to the dish. As you can see in my photos, I did eat most of the pork belly pieces. The lumpia was delicious- lightly crispy on the outside, with delicious pork filling on the inside. It came with a sweet & sour-like sauce that was mild and tasty. My meal was delicious and I ate it ALL! As I type this review, I don't feel extremely full and weighed down, which is great! With tip, I paid $24 and some change. I would definitely go back to try some of the other offerings. This is a great spot if you are craving Filipino cuisine that tastes homemade. Solid four gold stars!

Filipino food is one of those comfort foods so of course what do I look for my first time visiting Baltimore? I happened to be in this neighborhood so decided to give this place a try. Luckily they weren't busy when we arrived so everything came out quickly. The Shanghai lumpia is on the smaller side, which is excellent for a taste teaser but if you're used to the bigger style you may be disappointed. The flavor was good, and the vinegar and sili added a nice hot and sour kick. The pork BBQ stick was marinated well and was my favorite. My wife actually liked it with the pinakbet more than the kawali, which I didn't mind cause it left more for me lol. The pinakbet was a hit for both of us as we haven't found many veggie dishes at the other Filipino restaurants that were fresh and crunchy. Most other places tend to go with the soupier veggie dishes (sinigang mostly, which is also good but I was feeling crunchy) so it was refreshing to have this. Ampalaya for the win! The only disappointment was the pork Adobo. Don't get me wrong, it was really good. It's just not the type we're used to which is Ilokano style (a little drier and crunchy with a lot more vinegar sour taste) so not a ding, more of a different taste preference. The only negative (not to us, but definitely to folks not used to it) is the lack of decor and the kind of... dinginess to the restaurant. Some of the best places in Hawaii have similar but scare those new to Filipino food. I could see having a hard time bringing newbies to this restaurant and convincing them that the food is good if they walk in and see the interior. All in all, my wife and I loved the place. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again. So far, it's the best Filipino food we've had since moving to the DMV!

I will say prepare a budget cause there's a lot to get, I ended up spending around $40 for everything I got. Let's start with the beef lumpia. It was crispy and tasted pretty good. I'm a sucker for spice so I would've loved it to be a little spicier or maybe offer some chili oil on the side. Next is the star of the show, the lechon kawaii bowl. The pork is so tender and perfectly crispy! I added garlic rice instead of the usual which was a great addition. I asked to try their vinegar sauce which comes with garlic and jalapeño in it which I found to be amazing. Lastly, the taro milk tea is heavenly, I'm still thinking about it!!! The service was friendly and because it was my first time they even offered me a coupon for the next time I come back and I will definitely be back! Later we learned the pancet was in the back. My goofy order condisted of garlic rice (2 scoops) and a small order of deep fried pork belly. I was curious of what everything was by using the point and tell method. Somehow I endéd up with a chicken dish with more rice, that really jacked up the bill. The turon also had some langka (jackfruit) in it which is my absolute favvvv. Mama Rosa is also a convenient place to get snacks!! This isn't just a place to eat, but you can shop as well. Their shop is a bit small, but it has a good selection of nostalgic snacks (at least for me) like shrimp chips, boy bawang, polvoron, etc. they also sell bakery stuff like pandesal, leche flan, bibingka, etc. The store is not pet friendly, but service dogs are allowed. There IS outside seating with shade, so I'm guessing you can bring your dog there. The staff was friendly and answered questions well! We would gladly come back again to grab something that we're too lazy to make at home like lechon.
