After I explained what had happened, the manager seemed skeptical at first, as if I was trying to get something for free. Eventually, she agreed to remove the $5 charge. To make matters worse, when I asked for a to-go box and a side of blue cheese because my original blue cheese had been thrown away, I was told it would cost an additional $0.75. At that point, I was frustrated that I was being charged for a replacement of something that had been discarded by the staff. I paid it, but the entire experience left a bad impression. The overall interaction felt like the restaurant was constantly looking for ways to add extra charges and nickel-and-dime customers. Customer service should focus on making things right when mistakes happen, not creating additional frustrations.
