I asked the scanning tech working in the Cardiology Clinic who was working with me if by any chance she had eaten there . She acknowledged that she had and the food is prepared according to your request. After my appointment the next step before heading home was at Phat Matt's . It was dark wasn't sure they were opened. The open sign was lit . I turned the door handle to go inside . It was a small place dark with chairs and a table or two . Gave off vibes you can sit while you wait for you order to be prepared but once ready paid for proceed out the door you came in. . There wasn't any customers inside just a young man probably no more than 22 working by himself. The menu is posted on the wall in colorful chalk written by someone with a nice penmanship. My eyes focused on the catfish category on the wall. Oh before I forget its a "Cash Only" business . I had to look inside my wristlet to make sure I had money to pay for my meal. Some of the chalk writing was smeared . I learned the cook on duty when I visited was named Jacoby. He was average height thin he looked a little tired or maybe lacking some energy. He came to the counter to see if I was ready to place my order. I responded I was . I started out stating for me what I didn't want. On my 3pc catfish basket I did not want any hushpuppies or a slice of white bread cut in half or possibly toasted to be included. I didn't time Jacoby but its wasn't too long of a wait . I asked him if I could take pictures of the menu in case I wanted to stop by again if the food was good after my next appointment at the VA The food was smelling good nice and hot . My food was in a little paper basket inside a white paper bag . I grabbed a few napkins nearby. There was a tip jar in the counter . I left a couple of dollars as I picked up my order inside the white bag he had gently placed on the counter. Thank God for safe traveling grace and arriving mercies to my home . I stopped by QT on my way home to get a large frozen coke . Surprisedly the food was still pretty hot from my nineteen miles journey. I forgot to request my fish be fried hard paper on the side of the basket . I smelled it strongly from the moment I picked up my order from the counter. Fries were nestled under the three flaky crispy filets. The fries were soft kinda soggy but edible. I was able to eat this meal and enjoy for a couple of days . I plan to stop by again whenever I have my next appointment at the VA. Chef's ‍ kiss

4.8 Let me put y'all on to a hidden gem…read more Crunchy B's is a Black-owned dessert spot specializing in cookies and homemade ice cream--and babyyy, they do NOT disappoint. We first ordered through Uber Eats and loved it so much, we looked them up and realized they were right near us in Lancaster! Since then, we've been consistent supporters because it's just THAT good. Now let's talk favorites. The honey butter cornbread cookies?! Don't be taken aback by the name. Absolute perfection--soft, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth GOOD. And the Oreo cookies?? Whew... easily top tier For the ice cream, the buttered pecan is smooth, creamy, and full of flavor And the cookies n creme?? Loaded, delicious, and everything you want it to be Take home message: If you're anywhere near Lancaster, you NEED to check them out and support this amazing Black-owned business Trust me--you'll be hooked just like we are!

It's located in the same shopping area as the Lancaster Cinema Movies by Aaron's. It does need more marketing and the tree in front of placed in a different place. It's there! Don't drive by it. Why not try it? We went on a Sunday around 2pm and my nose appreciated it tremendously. For the grand opening, all guests were invited to "sign the wall". The wall had 100s of signatures. We were greeted by a newly employed, friendly Miss. The store was clean, clean, clean. FRESH! One large cookie was $3. Special for multiple cookies purchased. They offered minis too. Day old cookies (what's that?) were only $8 for a bag. Did I mention their ice cream? Everything was great. A lil pricey, but we need to support our community FIRST. We will be back.

I…read morecould have gone to any of the other seven or so food trucks lined up next to it, but my belly was telling me it was a Cajun food/fried seafood sort of day. Best decision ever, belly! The shrimp basket was out of this world: eight jumbo fried shrimp served with texas toast, french fries, and pickle slices. I got some ketchup packets for dipping purposes, but they were ultimately useless because the spicy tartar sauce (?) that was included just owned everything. And the shrimp... likely the best I've had in my life. Those plump crustaceans were enrobed in the lightest coat of batter and fried to crispy perfection. The only downside to my meal was that the pickles were buried under the fries, causing some loss of crispiness to two fries. But I don't think this will prevent me from coming back, as all of the other fried goods I saw people getting looked equally amazing. Maybe some fried mac and cheese next time... And as a side note, props to the service. Before placing my order, I was warned that it would be a fifteen minute wait. Although this, plus ~10 min, is expected of the Klyde Warren food trucks (in my experience), I think that forewarning your customers is one of those small but considerate gestures, and completely necessary. So I took a seat at one of the nearby park tables, while customers of less considerate food trucks paced deliriously back and forth before me, checking on their orders every five minutes and totally exacerbating their hunger pains.

I'm so glad I walked all the way down to the end because there sat the Lab Food Truck, the name kinda of threw me off because I saw flames but had no clue what goodness was on that truck. First thing that caught my eye was poboy I love a good poboy and my decision was made, plus I had the option of spicy or regular? Well give me spicy. The portion was really a nice size for a food truck. The serving was comparable to any sit down restaurant and the flavor exceed many sit down restaurants as well. When they handed me my sandwich I hurried and walked back to my table protecting my sandwich from all the canine sniffing noses. That poboy was wonderful it was fresh shrimp and oh so spicy. The bread was buttery and toasty. The remoulade sauce was tasty but not even necessary. The fries were standard but it was all about the poboy. I cannot wait to try other offerings from the Lab Food Truck, one of my friends arrived late and she went and got the same thing and neither one of use were disappointed. This is a must try again.

Please plan on waiting a little bit for your food. It's made fresh & not under a warmer. But it's very much worth the wait. The fries are amazing! And the Philly cheesesteak was very good too. Well seasoned and just the right about of meat to bread ratio. Be sure to use some of the Tony's Sauce they have. I don't know what's in it, but it's awesome. The location is clean. Pressed 1 and I got an automated recording that had a woman talking and then the phone hung up and this was during normal business hours. Big Tony's has fallen off since it was taken over by black people, I've been coming to Big Tony's since the 90's, I'm 41 years old and I remember when the older heavy set white guy was serving up the city of DeSoto GREAT quality cheesesteaks and awesome customer service. When he sold or was bought out Big Tony's has went downhill ever since, I've seen people order food from our so called kinfolk and get charged an extra 1.00 or so just for using a debit/credit card to pay for their order. That's just greedy and unprofessional in this day and age when everything is debit, credit, or tap and cash is being phased out. ‍ The worst part is I've seen them quote a customer a certain amount for their order, the said customer looks at their receipt and then say why it is more and the cashier says oh we charge a fee if you don't pay with cash. I'm through with Big Tony's I'd rather drive to Plano to the other Big Tony's.
