    Chicken Alfredo in Fettuccine

Had pizza months ago, yet dined in with a friend. It is a historical vintage eatery since 1963 however I felt it could use a lil renovation, personally. When we sat down, it was tight on the hallway. There was no privacy. You say across, behind us and over ours too. Should've acknowledged it, asking for more distance away from patrons. Didn't complain. When my friend ordered Root Beer, she brought it to him and it tasted like cherry soda. The waitress was apologetic & offered a A&W bottle instead. While we waited I did hear a customer ask tell the server that his plate is "cold" and wanted it hot. Felt a lil uncomfortable, moving forward. Friend chose Chix Alfredo & I had the Hot Combo Grinder (meatballs & sausage). Mine wasnt bad, finished it. Friend didn't finish his, the waitress offered a to-go-box and brought it to him. He decided he was all set. We paid & left.

It's hard to review the food because we never got the chance to try it. We made a family reservation and confirmed it the night before, expecting a nice meal. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely closed. There was no phone call, no advance notice, and no update on social media or online. After planning around this reservation, it was a very disappointing experience.

Im not from the area and was craving chicken alfredo as a comfort food. This was the best alfredo ever! Their crispy chicken was so perfectly cooked, very impressed! It tastes homemade and fulfilled my craving. Plus the portions are a good size so I have leftovers. We also got a small cheese pizza and it's delicious. I'd come back anytime I'm in town and will recommend this to anyone wanting good Italian food!

I've had the pizza here and it's great, but I just bought a salad and for $20 dollars the take home portion was very small and nothing special.... I was expecting something better than this. Go across the street and get it for half price. Get the pizza here

A local business that has been family owned and operated for decades. The pizza is made with homemade sauce and a thin and crispy crust. They use lots of mozzarella cheese so we always ask for them to go light and it is much better. The Mediterranean salad is one of my favorites. Their wine selection is not great but sufficient for a glass to go with your meal. They offer pasta specials for a great price during the week. During COVID they had curb side pick up which worked really well. There are outside tables now and limited inside dining. Service is very attentive. I recommend this local business.

The food was decent but the service was so bad that it overrode any positives about the experience.

Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA). Delicious pizza with craft beer is always an excellent pairing! I had a really nice experience at 8 Thousand Pizza and I hope to return with my family.

Paying by the ounce. Service was nice and attentive. But you have to go up to the counter to order. Many of the betas were out or empty. I did like that. They had a wide selection of glasses available for the different styles of beer.

Before ordering, we informed our waitress that a member of our party has a severe shellfish allergy, including all shellfish and anchovies. Since she was new, I took extra time to clarify the allergy and discuss safe menu options. We determined that I could not order anything fried, including chicken cutlets, because the fryer is shared with shellfish items such as calamari and shrimp. Unfortunately, this is a challenge we often face when dining out. Given the limited options available, I ordered the ravioli with Sunday sauce. However, I became very sick that night. While I cannot say with certainty what happened, I suspect there may have been some form of cross-contamination in the kitchen, whether from gloves, utensils, or food handling procedures. What made the experience even worse was the interaction with the manager, Cindy. I found her to be rude, dismissive, and lacking the customer service skills expected in a hospitality setting. Rather than showing concern for a guest with a serious food allergy, her attitude left us feeling unwelcome and unvalued. Based on conversations with others, this behavior unfortunately does not seem to be an isolated incident. Between the apparent lack of allergy safeguards and the poor customer service we experienced, this visit has left us questioning whether we will return. Food allergies are not preferences; they are serious medical concerns that require careful attention and respect.
