Never in my life have I been more excited to enter a Target parking lot and not enter the Target. Right behind a questionable auto service building (except for Mondays or whenever they don't feel like being there) is an unassuming taco truck wherein live the best tacos and burritos I've had in Silicon Valley. They have a fancy new printed menu on the side of the truck, half of which is dedicated only to the types of meat they have to give you an idea of what caliber of taco truck we are dealing with. They also have veggie options that are delicious. Super burritos are my go to, they are around $10 and are certainly enough to be a whole meal (maybe two depending on how much you eat). The people there are super friendly. I usually speak to them in Spanish but their English is good as well! Happy staff, happy customers is definitely the vibe at Mamacitas. The sauces are delicious, especially the orange one. Don't ask what's in it but know it's great. They have limes, pickled veggies, salt, cucumber, etc. All the things your tacos need and more. They sometimes have aguas frescas including a pretty good horchata. Don't expect a table, but it's nice when they put them out. Things aren't consistent in terms of sauces, drinks, or even presence... but what is there any time I visit is always fantastic. My husband and I consider ourselves Mexican food connoisseurs. Mamacitas is by far our favorite spot in the Bay Area especially for their burritos and (al pastor) quesadillas but also best spot overall. We love their al pastor, chicken and carne asada. We've done our own mini taco/burrito crawls throughout SF and mamacitas remains our favorite burrito. Their special orange sauce is also amazing if you can handle hot food. This place is wonderful. The first time I went here, I ordered a $10 burrito with either carnitas or el pastor (I forgot LOL)- and IT WAS BOMBBB :D. Really nicely seasoned meat, great flavors, not too salty or spicy- one of the best burritos I've ever had. :) The second time I've been here (today!), I ordered a $9 torta and honestly, I thought it was just going to be the size of half a sandwich. Nope. IT'S THE REAL THING. It's fricking HUGE LOL. I bought it as an afternoon 'snack' for after work and I am FULL. I ordered with chorizo and another meat (I can't remember what it was- suaduenos? I dunno!) but it was delicious! The roll adds a crunchy, but not too crunchy, texture to the sandwich- kinda like the texture of toast! The lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapeños added a nice kick (the jalapeños, especially), and I really enjoyed the blend of flavors this sandwich has. Filling , delicious ingredients, and tasty salsa. The first bite was love. Fast service with no lines. They did misunderstand my order but fixed it right away. We didn't eat there so they don't have a bag enough for chips to go. We ordered three orders and they only gave us one small snack Ziploc bag for chips. Chips are big so hardly any fit. Tasty crispy chips and great with the salsa variety they offered. The drinks were not in ice or cold so that was a bummer. Otherwise they had guava and horchata which I didn't taste but looked good. Their tacos are the best tacos I've had in California. From San Francisco, Los Angeles, all the way down to San Diego. Their tortillas are lightly fried, making the tortillas crispy and soft at the same time. They have an ample meat selection, which includes your traditional meats (carnitas, carne asada, al pastor, and pollo). They also serve up my favorite types of meat, the intestines, the parts from the head (snout, ear, tongue, etc) Something about this taco truck makes me crave them everyday! I've gone here twice now and have been fairly pleased. First time, I got three veggie tacos. I'm a bad vegetarian and generally dislike mushrooms, so I was a bit displeased to learn that roasted veggies mainly meant large quantities of mushrooms. Once I picked them all out, my tacos were pretty tasty :) The beans and rice are pretty on point here. From what I recall, they were flavorful. The second time I went, I got a veggie burrito, minus the grilled veggies ;) I basically just wanted beans, rice, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and guac. It was 85% of the way there for me. There was a little bit too much rice and cheese for me. I personally like a higher bean to rice ratio. Last time my family visited from Michigan we gave them options of places to eat for their last meal and they happily selected Mamacitas over many other great, high end options. People can't believe when I tell them our favorite taco spot is in a Target parking lot but their tacos are the best I've had in California. The meat, the tortillas, the fresh onions and cilantro and the salsas are high quality and the flavors mesh together perfectly. They give you so many salsa options - my favorite is the green salsa and the spicy orange sauce (watch out, it's SPICY! but oh so good). Plus you can watch them prepare your food through the large windows and see how hard they work and how much pride they take in their cooking.
