Assemble to your heart's content - oeuf a la coque: 3 soft boiled eggs with shell on + fix ins and bread. Crack the tops of your eggs open and mix in your desired toppings, then DIP your bread into the yolk!! YUM - farro, roasted yams, and cabbage: DELICIOUS BOWL with so many fresh ingredients! I added chicken for more protein, and the bowl is definitely hearty and filling. I walk outside and check Yelp, all of the coffee spots open at 8. If I'm going to wait, I'm going to wait for the best to open. I'm going to wait for Maman. I've been to the other location. I can get dizzy from all the freshly made baked goods. Flaky croissants. Perfectly made sandwiches. This is a larger space and there is more seating to enjoy a sit down meal. I'm going to buy an almond croissant and a Flat White for myself and bring back a coffee and a little treat for my wife. Have I mentioned the space is absolutely beautiful? Its very warm and rustic. I walk in at 7:56. I'm not greeted good morning, these folks are on a mission to open. They're putting out their sandwiches, pastries and desserts. A smile would have been nice, maybe she's French. I don't care either way because I know the almond croissant is going to be mind numbing. A gentleman walks in after I place my order. He orders a lot of pastries and a latte. He sits by the window where my coat is on the chair. I grab my coffee and we start talking. He's from Connecticut, I tell him this place is one of my favorite bakeries in NYC. I want to take a picture of my *amazing* almond croissant but I'm thinking it might be too much. Was visiting in NY and staying in the SOHO area when I walked by this beautiful establishment. I was immediately captivated by the gorgeous outdoor seating arrangement and the Parisian vibes. Upon entering the cafe there is a bakery that offers freshly baked goods and coffee beverages. The restaurant area is behind the bakery. The decor is so charming and quaint. We stopped by Maman for a quick breakfast. The food, as always, was good. The Croque Maman was very tasty and had a nice, rich sauce. And the cold brew was good on its own, without cream or sugar (as it should be!). The service, however, was slow, and the staff was rude. We waited over 20 minutes for our sandwich and latte, and when we checked in around the 15 minute mark, we were shooed away. I understand things can get busy, but we were quite patient, and that wasn't necessary. If service comes back, we'll be happy to go again, but otherwise a disappointing experience at an old favorite. read more

Have you ever had to brunch hop to another establishment immediately after your meal in attempt to erase/overwrite the terrible dining experience that you just had? This definitely happened at Maman Tribeca. First of all, our waitress/waiter never served us water. They will pour water for other patrons that sits right next to my friend and I, and blatantly ignored the fact that we never received any refreshment to begin with. Second, the cast iron hashbrown waffle looks like some kind of burnt wood being pressed in a waffle maker and it has absolutely no taste or whatsoever. I asked for ketchup and hopes that it will help with the flavor... Nope, still tasted like a piece of charred inedible cardboard. My friend ordered the Maman's rabbit hole and was displeased by the portion and the flavor of food. If anything, he indeed felt like he jumped into a "rabbit hole" (just like the name of the dish) for choosing such horrendous item from the menu. Lastly, the coffee and tea tasted worst than your average NYC tap water. I regret picking this brunch place that absolutely ruined my Saturday afternoon. I advise you visit Two Hands instead (where I went after this terrible experience, it is located only a block away), it has better service and delicious food if you don't want to endure the same torture I had. read more

Maman Tribeca has won a chunk of my heart. A cafe with sofa seating in the front and a Parisian dining area in the back. Truly a gem nestled in the heart of NYC. Piece 1 of my heart goes to the the rabbit hole: a carved out pretzel bun with pastrami, greens, cheese, and an over easy egg right on top. Lid of the bun goes off to the side next to their artistic spread of what I think is honey mustard. Piece 2 of my heart goes to the pastries: the pastry basket comes with 3 pastries - croissant, pistachio and chocolate cream pastry, and an almond chocolate pastry. All three were amazing, some sweeter or more buttery than others. On the menu it says to share between two, but definitely can do for three. Goes great with their coffee! Piece 3 of my heart goes to the silverware: dishes with pretty blue designs, set table with napkin and fork, and the prettiest menu that serves as a place mat too. Piece 4 goes to the staff: attractive & kind. Qualities of any great human. I'm afraid to give out too many pieces so you'll just have to find out how Maman will steal some of yours on your own! my only complaints are that the coffee is too acidic/fruity for my tastes & the pastry basket doesn't come warmed up for you. read more

My company and I order from the King St. location regularly and have had nothing but stellar experiences. However, I am appalled with the service we received at the Tribeca location. We wanted to get a quick coffee at this spot, but were treated like second class citizens. Not only were we served our drinks in paper cups (as opposed to those who got the Maman china) whilst dining in, but our initial waiter was cold and dismissive. We waited 20 minutes to be treated this way? I think not. Additionally, the cup I was served my drink in had stains due to the drink obviously spilling out of it. How did I not come here sooner?! I heard of the hype but didn't give it a second thought until was looking for a place that had good avocado toast to bring an out of town guest to. This location hit the spot with IG worthy atmosphere and yummy food. The pistachio croissant is worth the carb calories. I was persuaded to come here based on tasting a financier at an event hosted by Sotheby's last May. It was divine and I had to make my way all the way here just for a taste. This new bigger location has the same great pastries as at the original location, which is pretty close by in Soho. In addition though, they also have full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus here, with lots more options than the mostly quick serve items on Centre Street. They also have Tropeziennes here, which consist of a pastry cream sandwiches between brioche, in 3 flavors (plain, coffee and matcha). I wasn't the biggest fan of this thing, which is served cool, but you can't go wrong with the Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookie or the Croissants, especially when they're warmed up. The sandwiches are a solid option too for a quick lunch. The cheesy Croque Maman ($7) was ok, but the massive bread was a little boring after it cooled down. The Jacques ($8), on the other hand, was excellent, a delicious tuna sandwich on a perfect, fluffy roll. After 5, the back area transforms into a sit down restaurant where dinner is served, but you can still grab some of the good stuff from the front area. read more

Maman has a few locations in the NYC area and this one's in TriBeCa, which was relatively quiet when I stopped by before brunch hour on a Sunday morning. The cafe looks a little different than the older interior photos as they recently added stationary products. The front half is now the to-go cafe/pastries counter shared with a Paper Source retail store and the cafe sitting area occupies the back. We had the Waffle-Iron Hash Brown, Chicken Sandwich, Croque Maman, and a Pistachio Croissant. Despite the indulgent sounding name, the Waffle-Iron Hash Brown is a salad with a healthy mix of smoked salmon, greens, and a portion of hash browns so moderately sized you will not be left with post-meal guilt. My favorite was perhaps the Croque Maman. I don't usually eat white bread or ham for that matter but their Croque Maman was thick and airy with a generous layer of cheese on top. I'd definitely try more of their food the next time I'm nearby one of their several locations. If you haven't seen yet, their to-go hot beverage cups have some beautiful designs! read more
