This was not a great experience. We were excited to try some Korean food in the area. The place is clean but nothing special. Ordered pork katsu, japchae, bibimbap. Everything just tasted way too sweet. From the sides to each entree, there was too much sugar added. I am used to excellent Korean food from Orange County and maybe that is an unrealistic standard for Korean food in sun city. When we asked the waitress about the sweetness, she replied that's how all Korean food is. She even stated other customers have complained about the sweetness but that the chef/owner has mentioned sugar is added to every dish in Korea. I highly doubt that. I won't be going back. I am very shocked about all the good reviews. Food was not edible and service was poor. read more

This review is for take out. We only visited once for take out so far. Located in an old strip mall. Nicely decorated and greeted warmly. We order the beef tofu soup and beef short rib soup. Food is fine, but not something I would need to go again. Soup base for the short rib soup was good (beef broth), but no love. There is only a few green onions. I expected some vegetables, especially for $22. Just 2 beef ribs and the noodles, which they nicely package separate for take out so they would not overcook. Beef tofu soup also had only tofu and beef. No vegetables. Banchan was also underwhelming. Believe I have had the Kimchi before out of a bag at the store. Nothing seemed made from scratch. A bit over priced fro what you get. I would drive a bit further to Temecula and visit Hi Tofu. read more

Sooooo Goooood!!! We've been meaning to try Mama's Kitchen since they opened. Had lunch there today. The dining area is open and spacious, everthing is new and very clean. Service was fantastic, its a family operated business - very friendly and welcoming. We tried the beef rib soup and tofu soup/bbq pork combo...amazing. I was just passing by the area and was looking for a quick bite so I decided to try this place because of the reviews and I have no ideia what this people are eating so good there because this place does not deserve nothing above 2 stars. I ordered some pork belly (extremely expensive) $32 for one dish which I don't mind paying as long as the food is almost 5 stars! Not this case at all. I paid $32 for rice some little portions of side dish and a large container with lots of veggies (like onions) and almost no meet. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. read more

The food is over priced and portions are soooo small! My son ordered a $19 dish and it had the smallest portion of meat (not fair if you are paying that much). I ordered the beef rib glass noddle dish $24 and there must of have been 10 pieces of noodles. It was crazy expensive for little food. I hope they see this and change their ways. read more

I had to be in Lake Elsinore to pick something up so we found Mama's Kitchen on Yelp and decided to try it based on the reviews. Ok. Transparency here. The location is unlikely for an amazing Korean restaurant and when we arrived at the beat down strip mall and saw a super loud Mexican restaurant blasting horrible Karaoke music, I almost apologized to my wife and drove us to Orange County. I figured we were already there, though, so we went in. I ordered dumpling and noodle soup. My wife got gimbap and galbi beef. Let's just say that it was AMAZING!!! The dumpling soup was literally the best I've ever had, filled with hand made dumplings that were stuffed so full of good stuff, they looked like golf balls! I asked if they were home made and our server proudly replied that she and her grandma made them that morning. Last night, I went to my favorite Korean restaurant at The Source in Brea and ordered dumpling soup. What a let down!
