This place is a joke! I read one of the comments below and I will add some more horrible experience... I was just passing by the area and was looking for a quick bite so I decided to try this place because of the reviews and I have no ideia what this people are eating so good there because this place does not deserve nothing above 2 stars. I ordered some pork belly (extremely expensive) $32 for one dish which I don't mind paying as long as the food is almost 5 stars! Not this case at all. I paid $32 for rice some little portions of side dish and a large container with lots of veggies (like onions) and almost no meet. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. read more

The food is over priced and portions are soooo small! My son ordered a $19 dish and it had the smallest portion of meat (not fair if you are paying that much). I ordered the beef rib glass noddle dish $24 and there must of have been 10 pieces of noodles. It was crazy expensive for little food. I hope they see this and change their ways. read more

Meals seem to be expensive, but they're large and family style shareable meals. Don't make the mistake of ordering too much like we did. Wait staff seemed to be scarce, but we weren't left wanting for anything and got numerous refills and were checked on frequently. The found was amazing and the establishment was nice and clean. I'm so happy to have a Korean restaurant nearby. The food is like a home cooked meal. Seasoning is on point and spice level is kickin! Don't sleep on this place or you will miss out. Prices are in line with what you get. We ordered 3 dishes and also received miso soup, rice and 5 sides that traditionally accompany Korean food. On weekends, my wife and I go on a "new restaurant adventure." We LOVE Korean food. I had to be in Lake Elsinore to pick something up so we found Mama's Kitchen on Yelp and decided to try it based on the reviews. Ok. Transparency here. The location is unlikely for an amazing Korean restaurant and when we arrived at the beat down strip mall and saw a super loud Mexican restaurant blasting horrible Karaoke music, I almost apologized to my wife and drove us to Orange County. I figured we were already there, though, so we went in. I ordered dumpling and noodle soup. My wife got gimbap and galbi beef. Let's just say that it was AMAZING!!! The dumpling soup was literally the best I've ever had, filled with hand made dumplings that were stuffed so full of good stuff, they looked like golf balls! I asked if they were home made and our server proudly replied that she and her grandma made them that morning. Last night, I went to my favorite Korean restaurant at The Source in Brea and ordered dumpling soup. What a let down! What was once my favorite place to eat was literally so disappointing in comparison that I didn't finish my food. Going back to Mamas tonight! read more

It is a bit on the pricier but quality of food is worth it in my opinion and beats having to drive to LA for some legit tofu soup and Korean bbq yumminess. The side dishes were also nom nom good. I came in for Easter Sunday for lunch with my grandma and mom. We were in the area and we found an open Korean restaurant in the area and wanted to try it out. I ordered the marinated chicken bbq chicken, which was delicious, cooked very well, and the stone plate kept the meat and onion warm, with some nice sweet caramelization on the bottom from the sauce. I was also surprised at the portion, because I feel like I definitely got my money's worth of food here, especially with the unlimited sides, which included fish cakes, pickled radish, and kimchi. I also shared some of the tteokbokki, which was pretty spicy, but at a good level, and also slightly sweet, the way I like it. There was a nice ambience of K-pop playing which I do enjoy listening to. As for the service, the waitresses were on top of making sure everything was ok with the food, and there wasn't a long wait for our food to arrive to the table. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and order the Korean fried chicken, which looked good. read more

First impression is underwhelming, walked in and the 85 degree temp outside almost matched the inside. It was hot and stuff inside, it wouldn't hurt to turn on the AC to make the dinning area more comfortable. I noticed this same complaint in other reviews. We were greeted with a loud shout from the back of the restaurant the place looks like a fast in and out type place kinda like Flame Broiler or China One, where you seat yourself or some place like that which by the way we did have to seat ourselves. Our server was very cold in her demeanor and we noticed she was like that towards everyone. The food is good although nothing to rave about and way overpriced. I can get the same good food from other KBBQ places for way cheaper. With these prices this place should have nicer seating with a host and way better service than we received. I asked for some additional hot sauce like Sriracha, Gochujang or whatever they had. The server told me the three different sauces they had and being undecided I ask her to bring all three. She brought me one big bottle of sriracha with nearly nothing in it quickly placed it on the table and left. We didn't see her for the remainder of our meal. I used what was left in the bottle with one squeeze. It's like asking for ketchup and getting one packet. No refills on a $4 plain ice tea, oh and you have to buy your sodas by the can and they don't give you free refills. The can doesn't even fill the cup even with ice in it. (Cans are $3 each.) $19.99 for a larger than normal bowl of dumpling soup(which by the way you get that same size bowls from any PHO restaurant maybe even bigger for way cheaper) and $19.99 for Glass noodles with veggies and meat that had very little meat in it maybe 2 tablespoons which by the way looked and tasted like poorly seasoned hamburger. Also to add injury to insult they offer a gratuity guide on the receipt starting at 18% then 20% then 22%. The checker at the grocery store works harder and provides way better service than our server did. Iv tried to tip the checkers but they're not allowed to receive tips. In what world do you think your minimum tip should start at 18%. To the owner, if you are going to charge these kind of prices then you need to offer the kind of dinning experience to justify it. Start with turning on the AC so when your customers come in they feel comfortable. I would have had no problem paying these prices but you don't offer the dinning experience for the price or quality you're offering. We won't be back. read more

Been searching for a good Korean restaurant for a while and thanks to Yelp I saw Mama's Kitchen being featured on the app. I immediately got excited especially when I saw the excellent reviews. So today I finally got to come here with my friend. I am not going to lie...the menu prices are up there and portion size is average. Anyway my friend and I ordered the stone bibimbap. She ordered without bulgogi meat and I ordered it with meat...I gotta have my meat especially when it's bulgogi. Food tasted clean but a little bland much like the last bibimbap I had except portion was bigger for the same price. So I'm thinking that's how bibimbap is. I had to put a lot of that Korean chili sauce on it. Good thing it wasn't too spicy. My friend put soy sauce in her dish. This dish was $19.99. I will be back when I'm up for treating myself on some yummy food with a loaded wallet. I love the fact that this place is close to home. They just opened 4 months ago. read more
