I recently moved into the area and was looking for authentic Korean food but more specifically soft tofu soup. And wasn't willing to travel to Temecula for it. I ordered a combo. Let's just say the broth and fixings were made in house. The service was attentive and asked me if I needed any of the dishes explained. But I had already scoped the menu before hand. Definitely now I can say overpriced, on a bed of onions that has more onions than meat. Total bill for 2 people $92. Definitely not coming back anymore. I came in on a weekday around 6 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Everything was pretty clean. I do think the owners should invest in something to keep flies out because flies kept coming by and bugging us while we were eating. Food wise I'll start by saying everything was sooo overpriced. The closest Korean spot to me so if I'm craving it I will come back. I will start by saying the gimbap was very tasty. Tteokbokki had a really nice sauce, although I was expecting something a little spicier. When we ordered we didn't have a spice level option so that would be nice. The cheese on top I didn't even eat because it was so thick, it was a cheese blend and I was expecting just mozzarella like other Korean places. When we initially sat down we got banchan and everything was delicious. We asked for seconds of the potato salad and fish cake because the portions are kinda small. I ordered jjajang ramen and expected something with some homemade element but it's honestly just bland packaged ramen with cucumber I could've made at home for under 15 dollars ‍ overall might not come back. I think I'd rather drive to La to get some thing more authentic for the same price. read more

I love that there is a Korean restaurant in the area!!! The food is good, the ambiance is good, and the service is good, just one thing though, it is a bit pricey for your typical Korean food. I know, inflation, etc. But the price is pretty steep for the food. The restaurant has plenty of tables and chair and can accommodate bigger parties if needed. The food is delicious and it comes out looking decent too. We were stuffed after eating everything. And for the side dishes, you can ask for them as many times as you'd like. The giant katsu was good, crispy, and flavorful, a big hit for the toddler. However, the sauce that comes with it seems more Americanized rather than the usual sweet sauce that we were used to. The sauce here is tangy and comparable to your American bbq sauce. The seafood tofu soup was delicious. Perfect for rainy cold days. And the spicy pork was sweet and delicious as well. The portion is decent, my gripe with the price is just that this would be something that we would go to for special occasions, not your typical food run durig the weekdays. read more

Mama's Kitchen was absolutely amazing. It was my families first time having Korean barbecue. The staff was patient with us and took the time to explain the art of eating Korean barbecue. Restaurant is in a strang location and it took us a minute to find but worth the hunt. We would definitely eat there again. Had pork short ribs, marinated chicken, and Roman. Fed 3 easily with extra to spare. A little expensive but what isn't these days. read more

I can't say enough good things about the food. Every dish I got was tasty and packed with flavor. The gimbap while a little pricey, was worth it in my opinion considering the portion and ingredients. That's one thing that stood out to me, the ingredients tasted like high quality. I was insanely impressed with the marinated chicken which had nice, tender texture and once again the best flavor. The rice bowl was so good too (little tip if you want more flavor try adding that chicken in !) everything looked fresh and once again a good portion size and very filling. Overall 10/10 for the food. I also want to mention that the atmosphere was really nice. I went about two hours before closing and didn't have any trouble finding seating. I also appreciate that they don't play the music too loud so you won't have to yell to talk to friends. I got to meet who I believe is the owner who asked to make sure the food was good and she seemed like a nice lady. The food takes a little longer than usual to get to you but nothing too bad. Mamas Kitchen sounds like a country style restaurant but to my surprise it was Korean BBQ restaurant. Ordered lunch special Short ribs ( the best I've had by far), loved the sides- potatoes so dang tasty, homemade kimchi, cucumbers had such a tangy spicy flavor. Fried dumplings were wonderful. Korean egg roll is an egg omelet rolled up. Tofu soup with beef short ribs. Soup had so many flavors. Stir fried glass noddles with vegetables was very fresh and savory. Spicy sauce marinated pork w/ rice mixed veggies. Lots of ingredients made it delicious. Restaurant was clean and customer service amazing. Prices are a little higher than expected but portions and quality make up. You need to try this spot! You won't be disappointed! read more

This was not a great experience. We were excited to try some Korean food in the area. The place is clean but nothing special. Ordered pork katsu, japchae, bibimbap. Everything just tasted way too sweet. From the sides to each entree, there was too much sugar added. I am used to excellent Korean food from Orange County and maybe that is an unrealistic standard for Korean food in sun city. When we asked the waitress about the sweetness, she replied that's how all Korean food is. She even stated other customers have complained about the sweetness but that the chef/owner has mentioned sugar is added to every dish in Korea. I highly doubt that. I won't be going back. I am very shocked about all the good reviews. Food was not edible and service was poor. read more

Great service and food! FYI - this is not an "all-you-can-eat" Korean BBQ restaurant. The menu is modest and consists mainly of soups and platters. My husband and I shared the bulgogi plate. It sounds expensive at $29.99, but there was plenty of food for both of us. Although the menu doesn't specify, the plate included rice, a salad, and 5 small sides like you'd typically get at a KBBQ restaurant. I'm not sure what it server's name was, but she was incredibly sweet and helpful. Food came out quickly and we were full after sharing that plate. It's so great to see different kinds of restaurants arriving here in Menifee. 10/10 recommend supporting them and trying it out! read more

Located in a "nostalgic" strip mall (think 1950s-60s!) off of Bradley and McCall, and, coincidentally, next to a recently opened Thai restaurant. Menu is ubiquitous of what you find in Korean family-style restaurants with katsu, tofu, pancake, noodles, and bbq. Banchans are on the minimal side consisting entirely of veggies, but all tasty. Had the seafood soondofu and kalbi. Both had good flavor. Service is still choppy, but they've only been open less than a week so forgivable. Pricing is more what you find in OC and LA sans robust side dishes. Inside is clean and open. Considering this is the only Korean restaurant in Menifee, impressed with MK! read more

I was skydiving this past weekend at Elsinore when I was craving Korean food and ended up driving here for it. I had my doubts as I was only used to LA K-Town Korean Food. But the place really surprised me! I had the tofu soup + galbi and my friend had a mandu soup with rice cake. There's a reason it's called mama's kitchen. Tasted like my meals back home haha. We both enjoyed our food and ordered another tofu soup for my daughter to go. She also enjoyed it. Happy to find a close to home Korean restaurant. We ordered the Pork Katsu, Sweet and Spicy Chicken, and Seafood pancake and a Korean egg roll. Wow!! The flavors of everything we ordered were amazing and on point! The Pickled sides (kimchi and pickled cucumbers) were so good and flavorful that I was craving it days after we ate there!! The Korean egg roll was light and fluffy and omelette-like but way better! The serving sizes are pretty large so if you order the Katsu entree like I did, you can feed two people or have leftovers. The seafood pancake was loaded and delicious! This review is for take out. We only visited once for take out so far. Located in an old strip mall. Nicely decorated and greeted warmly. We order the beef tofu soup and beef short rib soup. Food is fine, but not something I would need to go again. Soup base for the short rib soup was good (beef broth), but no love. There is only a few green onions. I expected some vegetables, especially for $22. Just 2 beef ribs and the noodles, which they nicely package separate for take out so they would not overcook. Beef tofu soup also had only tofu and beef. No vegetables. Banchan was also underwhelming. Believe I have had the Kimchi before out of a bag at the store. Nothing seemed made from scratch. A bit over priced fro what you get. I would drive a bit further to Temecula and visit Hi Tofu. read more
