The one star is for the pizza. To be clear, this is the best pizza I have eaten in my life. Second place is not even close. Now, the staff. If "meh" was a personality type, mamas strives to hire only those that have it. It's as if they wait outside restaurants to hire people terminated for lack of care, emotion, or basic comprehension. 48 minutes for a single pizza. We were one of three tables in use. The facility is kind of like a dive bar. Except dive bars are cool, not nasty and unkept. Remember the carpet your mom really wanted in 1983? Well, mamas got it. You heard me right. Carpet at a restaurant. It's a great look. The door handles still say "Pizza Hut" because why spend 50 bucks ant take pride in your restaurant when you can just ignore it and still sell a pizza? The building in general is disgusting and depressing. The shed outside from 87 with one door torn off adds a nice touch as well. I drove an hour and a half to eat here. I had my first mamas pizza at 4 years old. I just wish they gave a damn. Side note to Jordan S, the owner. I have read reviews you have responded to that say "this is unacceptable" and "I will address this with mgmt". Well, it has not changed. Also, it is exactly the same at the location by TCU. It appears that by in large the facilities and hiring practices are completely ignored. Kudos for maintaining good pizza. If you ran it like you cared, there would be a line out the door and over 50 locations. I wish you the best, and sadly, my taste buds will force me to come back. read more

First off, the food is delicious. This is the third time we've ordered delivery and the pizza is always great. Cup & char pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage - all tasty. Tons of cheese and toppings. Both the meatball sub and Mama's sub are fantastic. However, and this seems like a trend here, our Mama's sub was missing lettuce & tomato, and they failed to send the ranch for our salad. Luckily we had some Italian dressing left in the fridge. We'll order again but hoping for more attention to detail for to-go orders. read more

Not impressed. We usually go to Mamas when there's a buffet. Today we picked one up. Never again. Quality was poor, messy-mushrooms and onions supposed to be on one half but scattered, hardly any sauce. Big disappointment:( 2 stars means it was ok but would not order there again. read more

This pizza was really good!!! Such a nice change from our usual lazy cooking "let's order p-johns" ... there was only another table of customers on the late Sunday evening we went. There are a few video games to play while the kiddos or the kiddo in you wait. But it really didn't take long to get our large pizza. We had the Combo pizza that came with all UT a few of the toppings (pineapple and basil). The pizza was delivered to our table. It was full of toppings. Lots of yummy gooey cheese. What we liked too was that it wasn't overloaded with pizza sauce. We love toppings and cheese! The soda fountain is Pepsi. Which is not my favorite--but they have the flavor adds so I made a cherry Pepsi. They also have beer. The lunch buffet option I saw online looked like something I would go back and try--reasonable sounding price. They also have a special lunch buffet price for students. I'm surprised that I'm even still sitting here, but I'm hungry and was set on Mama's. I got here just before 1 (lunch) on A Saturday. This place is filthy! Trash all over the floor, and not one table cleaned and ready to accommodate their guests. Seriously, not one. I "cleaned" my own table off, but I sit and look at the others, there are three other parties standing, waiting on tables to be cleaned. Btw, only one table is occupied. Here are some pictures. No fresh pizza. Have to wait 15 minutes for fresh ones. I love a good Mama's Pizza, but wasn't expecting this. I probably won't be back to this one. :( Also, what's the deal with having to use the paper plates for a refill on pizza or salad?!? Tables opened up prior to me finishing my lunch, but still as filthy as can be. It's been WAY too long since we've visited Mama's Pizza. There's something very special about their crust recipe. It was Friday night and it had been a long week, so pizza and beer was what the doctor ordered and the diagnosis was correct. I love a dive as much as the next restaurant-dive-loving-Yelpers out there but this place seems to have a problem sweeping and vacuuming their floors (as I sit here and stare at the vacuum cleaner in the corner next to a vending machine). Mama's Pizza is a pretty consistent pizza option for people living in Interlochen and the neighborhoods around it. I wouldn't say it is the best pizza I have ever had but it is dependable. There are definitely better places to go in the area but if you really want pizza this is your best bet. The crust is almost like how a soft pretzel would taste - pretty good touch. The best pizza this side of the Canadian border. For all you newbys that have moved into town this is a Arlington/Fort Worth treasure. Oops I let the cat out of the hat. My mouth is watering right now while I'm writing this review, so at 4:37 am I'm going to my fridge and grabbing my left over pizza from yesterday and eating it cold right out of the box. I think that's why I couldn't sleep, I knew Mamas Pizza was just sitting in my fridge and to many of my neighbors saw me get it out of my car when I arrived home. I bet the pizza is gone by now. Back in the day, I used to love Mama's Pizza......it was soooooo good. Those days are obviously OVER. I went to the Fielder location a couple of weeks ago to get a pizza.....had called it in before I left work and naturally it was not ready when I got there. So I'm sitting there waiting and there are a few tables with customers and a few people waiting just like me. Suddenly the young couple sitting one table over from me get into a loud argument.....the girl jumps up and is standing over the guy cussing him out with her hands clenched into fists.....he proceeds to cuss right back at her and she draws back her hand and slaps the holy hell out of him! He was NOT pleased. Now they are both cursing loud and hard and she is trying to make him give her the car keys.....he stands up and walks to the counter and she is right behind him......she keeps trying to grab the keys and he keeps cussing her out....then she calls him a bytch and hits him hard as hell and the fight was on....right there at the counter! Not an argument, but an old fashioned fight, with both of them pounding on each other. I was standing there with my mouth open, totally shocked and thinking, that I needed to get the hell outta there.....then the girl brings my pizza to me (finally) all smiles. I point at the still-fighting couple and she looks at them and starts laughing! Yes, laughing! Now if all that wasn't bad enough, I decide to eat a slice on my way home and it was horrible....tasted like the ingredients were old and it sure as hell was not cooked enough. The pizza was once upon a time the best... good, deep crust ect NOW (last 2 times we ate there) the crust is doughy and under cooked while the cheese is kinda slimy. Nothing brings more selfishness out of me than left over Mama's pizza. Husband and I came here last night to get a large pepperoni pizza (we down graded ourself from the usual mama's size we used to always get. We have no self control). I just ate my half of the left overs and I am so tempted to eat my husband's half. I wouldn't even feel bad. And he would understand lol but I'm holding on! We have been to so many pizza restaurants to see if any compare to Mama's and none of them come close at all. Pizza Hut is just awful. Dominos is not worth the calories. Same with Papa Johns. Blaze is also not worth the calories and, I know, shocker, little Caesar's is acceptable when we only have 5 bucks of our date money budget left. But mama's is everything y'all. No, the ambiance of the restaurant isn't awesome. It's not even good. Lol it's pretty generic but on the run down side. Don't go to the buffet either. Seriously just order a pepperoni pizza (keep it simple) and watch your love for pizza elevate to a whole new lever. You don't know pizza until you eat this pizza. I placed my first order with Mama's Pizza in Arlington through Grubhub on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 and the pizza was delivered. I was disappointed to see they are not using real mozzarella cheese on their pizzas, so if you want a real pizza, I'd advise going elsewhere. I've been eating pizza ALL my life (Chicago born and raised) and I have never had this problem. I would eat Papa John's over Mama's Pizza any day. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere because this establishment is more interested in making money off of people who don't know any better than actually producing quality products. I've ordered 55 pizzas from Grubhub since 2013. This was pizza number 56! Rather than even allow Grubhub to rectify the problem with me when I attempted to contact customer service, Mama's Pizza chose to burn the bridge with me a customer. They could have even said perhaps that something may have been wrong with the cheese even if they didn't want to admit to the very obvious cheese discrepancy to Grubhub. The manager who wouldn't rectify this was named Cole. There's no room for this lack of professionalism in the restaurant business, but I guess in a way I'm not surprised. Here's the bottom line: this is one of those pizzas that's trying too hard with something to prove, with a giant, flavorless crust (in other words, a distraction), covered in average tomato sauce (worth distracting), with this horrible cheese, whatever cheese it is. I grew up around Italians; I can do bread with sauce. This wasn't even edible with the cheese picked off, which BTW wouldn't be so challenging to do if it was real mozzarella. This cheese was so gross and sticky it was difficult to even remove. Please, save yourself the headache. read more

Let me start by saying that I love Mama's Pizza! By far my favorite pizza in town. The problem here is the staff. In the last three times we've eaten in, there's been a problem. The first time we sat for over 30 minutes waiting for our pizza to come out. When I went to ask, I learned that it had been put in a box. They brought it out cold. We were running late so I had to eat it. On our last visit, they got our pizza all wrong. I said no green peppers and onions only on half. They brought out a pizza with green peppers and onions. Their answer was to leave the wrong medium pizza and bring us a mini to go. My friend has dietary issues and spent a good bit of time picking onions a green peppers off so she could eat it. She was upset with the mini and went and talked to the manager. He rose his voice to her. Picking up pizza is best there. Their customer service is really bad. My first call in order was received by employee who wasn't the most patient on the phone, but face to face my experience has always been great. The true measure of customer service isn't when things are flawless but how it's handled when something goes wrong. We ordered from Mama's Pizza and there were missing items. We regularly order from them and it's always been spot on. I called to let them know and they were very friendly and had our food to us in no time. I will continue to order from Mama's not because they're perfect, but because they value their customers and do everything they can to make it right! Used to be amazing pizza. The crust and sauce were the best around. We have been Mamas patrons from back in the day it was on Cooper to now. Last two times were a little less than stellar. Some room for improvement (especially the manners and speed of the young and on their phone staff), but still good. But yesterday the pizza was AWFUL. The sauce was bland, cheese was different (cheap tasting, like skim) and the once delicious pizza crust....it was stale and just awful. So disappointed. But then I always order extra so I can have my second favorite pizza--Leftover Reheated Pizza. Now here's a valuable tip about Mama's Pizza. It makes a great reheated pizza, but only if you heat it in the oven. Don't even think about nuking it in a microwave. Pizza should be crisp and only a 400 degree oven can do the trick. Make sure to use the center rack as well. Don't overcook it, just cook til its warm throughout. Convenience rules over loyalty in America, and I guess I'm no exception, so I'm making a New Year's resolution a little early this year. RESOLVED: Do not take for granted the things in life that are tried and true or they may go out of business or divorce your sorry a**. We had an opportunity to try Mama's pizza this weekend. I don't know why, but I've lived in or near Arlington since the 70's and never have tried Mama's until now. Joe's, Tony's, and Mamas offer similar priced pizzas each with their own merit. We tried the half pepperoni, half sausage mushroom.
