Food is sooo authentic and delicious! My kids got the three cheese quesadillas and have their own 5 star review. My husband and I ordered chicken street tacos and their salad verde was very tasty. I also ordered the habanero marinated pinions SPICY AND DELICIOUS! The service was very friendly and speedy. Seating could be better but for a "hole in the wall" joint it's a great find!! read more

Hole in the wall, with the best street tacos in Dallas! Funny enough #2 is right across the street in Tacos La Banqueta. Quality corn tortillas, fresh cilantro & onion, delicious meat options, and don't forget to get the red (very hot) and green sauce (hot). Pro Tip - Ask for the habanero slaw. You can eat outside on one of the 3 picknick tables, but I usually grab it to go. Did I mention the tacos are only $1.99/per. This spot is a gem! read more

When my Mexican barber, Alfonzo, says, "Yo, Mami Coco is the spot when I don't eat at home," I drove right after getting lined up. And no wonder it has a five-star average. This nook in the middle of the neighborhood serves legit food at an affordable price, and just about everything I tasted I loved. More about it: ***** Corn Tacos ($1.99 each): I tasted their chicharron prensado (pressed pork), deshebrada (shredded beef), and picadillo (ground beef, with diced potatoes & grilled onions). I especially love the picadillo, due to the bolder flavor, over the others. Exotic Tacos ($2.25): I tried their cabeza and barbacoa. I am a cow-head fan, and love fatty cuts, so if you want to take a trip on the wild side, check it out. Sopes ($10.97): I got the chicharron prensado w/ picadillo and loved everyone's favorite thick corn cake. I would recommend this over the tacos. I also tried their deshebrada w/ fajita ($0.99), and picadillo, but enjoyed the pork more! Enchiladas ($9.99): I prefer mine with more sauce, and this one didn't come with it at all. (Totally cool if that's not their style.) I would personally not get it again, but other yelpers may enjoy it! Anytime I'm in the Dallas area I will drive out of my way to come here. Even if I'm not hungry I'm coming lol. At this point I've tried everything on the menu and everything is soooo good. You can tell that everything is fresh, homemade, and made with love. My favorites are the sopes, flautas, and tacos of course but seriously everything is good. Also the green salsa is very good... the red is a little too hot for my liking. read more

This is a hole in the wall restaurant but the food is fantastic and if you come on a nice day you can sit outside like we did. We randomly stopped by while looking to try a taco spot other than tacos la banqueta which had let me down the last few times I visited. I'm glad we stopped! You can watch your food be made right in front of you so you know it's very fresh. We got tacos, flautists, and a burrito. Everything was good and the portion sizes were decent. The hot sauce was delicious! I will definitely return. read more

Getting take-out from Mami Coco wasn't only a delicious experience, but an educational one as well. I felt like I was just kicking it with the boys while they were making a phenomenal dinner right in front of my eyes. As soon as I walked into this tiny, unassuming restaurant, the workers stood at attention and walked me through the menu. They let me sample the meats to see what I liked, some of which I had never heard of before. He told me about a normal portion size, and of course I ordered two tacos more on top of that. These guys are grinding out here. Probably two of the nicest people I've met in a long time, and you could tell they were putting everything they had into this business. I love to see people getting really excited about their work, and you could tell that they had a passion for it. The food was fantastic, and I will definitely be back again to try the flautas, because they were being hyped up big time. This place is directly across the street from one of the most popular street taco places in Dallas, but I think that they can carve out their own niche by the different offerings that they have (you guys should really put the menu on here). Really flavorful meats to go on top of authentically made tacos, burritos, etc. The burritos are taken to another level with the addition of retried beans and sour cream. You could probably try one of everything because most of the items are pretty small. Thanks for the warning about the red sauce guys. If I put any more of that on my burritos, I would have been crying in the shower for hours. read more

A hidden gem! This place is attached to a grocery store/convenience store, it's very small on the inside but has some places to sit outside. They are known for their barbacoa, tongue and al pastor. I wasn't brave enough to try the beef tongue but I think I missed out. The barbacoa and al pastor were very good. The staff is very friendly and wants to make sure you love your food. The owner gave us a run down of the menu as soon as we walked in. He also gave us ample hot and mild salsa. For $2/taco, it's a cheap spot for lunch or dinner. read more

ALL of them were soooo YUMMY and we will definitely come back every time we visit this area. Asking for the pickled onions and habanero mix is a MUST! While in Dallas for a conference, we found this hidden gem thanks to Yelp. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door and they took time to explain the menu options. I got the 3 burrito plate, my colleague got the 5 taco plate and we split an order of the dulce de leche empanadas for dessert. Not quite sure how this place made it into the list of top tacos in the country. I tried several different tacos (Barbacoa, Lengua, Fajita, and Pollo) and was extremely underwhelmed. The tortillas tasted store-bought and the meat had no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. No amount of lime or salsa could rescue these flavorless tacos. read more

Back again. I swear every single time I come back, I find myself ordering more food than the last time. I find myself mesmerized by the woman behind the grill. She is the grill magician, crisping the tortillas and meat to perfection. The meat to tortilla ratio is just right and she knows exactly how much cilantro and onion need to be on your taco. I'm the happiest person when I'm patiently waiting for my tacos. I love this place as much as I love the taquerias in Tijuana. Suddenly Mami Coco makes me feel at home with satiated tastebuds and a stomach full. Every bite is filled with love. Cheers to Mami Coco, a place that makes you feel right at home. Incredible food! Amazing authentic hole-in-the-wall spot. Food is all made fresh to order including their homemade tortillas! Get the quesadillas!! They aren't your typical quesadillas. The beef tongue was so good. I definitely recommend placing an order ahead if you are in a rush, but the food is so worth the wait! So glad we gave this spot a try instead of our typical run to Chipotle. We'll absolutely be back! Also, if you like spicy and want a little extra flavor, ask for the habanero pickled onions! It is very hard choosing a 4 star rating over 5 for this restaurant, however, I just couldn't give them that perfect score due to how dirty it was. There were three workers when we stopped by. One person taking orders, one person cooking, and another washing the dishes. There was only one other customer in the place at the time and we came in around 9:30pm that night. The counter where you can eat your food (only about 6 seats) was dirty with old dishes from past customers and empty soda bottles. I asked for a side of avocado and it was cut using what seemed like a used knife over the dirty kitchen sink. I always say, if staff take care of their work areas and clean up the restaurant then you can be sure that their food is clean. So if you do ever visit, don't expect much for atmosphere and cleanliness. Service: super friendly and quick Food: delicious! Would EASILY stop in for some TO GO tacos if I'm ever in the area. They are street tacos so on the smaller size but they definitely pack them up! The pork and barbacoa were so tender and seasoned on point! The salsa is what really got me drooling at the moment. Both the red and green salsa were to die for! At one point in the meal, I noticed that I was eating salsa with a side of taco. It was just that addicting! This is definitely a MUST try if you like authentic Mexican food. read more

Ordered the flaunts and sopes. it was nearly $37 total. They charge for limes and other condiments. The flauntas state they come with an avocado sauce with cabbage tomato cucumber and sour cream. Due to my preference I made a Very simple adjustment I only asked for no sour cream and no cabbage. They took 20 mins longer on the order at a slow day as well forgot the avocado cream sauce and cucumbers. When brought to their attention this establishment can't take any accountability and refuses to fix the order and instead makes you pay for the avocado cream. Came here because of TikTok and honestly am really disappointed. If you want good tacos or flauntas without being charged an arm and a leg definitely go to la salsa verde. The flauntas were fried in old oil, from the meat bar the beef was nearly brown due to prolonged oxidation. It's good if you want the "whole in the wall vibe" with expensive prices and a toast screen in your face. read more

YES there will likely be a line, it's for good reason. 1st line for ordering Tacos && 2nd line is usually for Elote. Simple tacos, but done right. They do have their off days where it feels like the tortillas aren't hitting as the usually do, but the are dealing with a lot of turnaround. Definitely go!! & try to eat them in the car soon as you get them, best when fresh from the window.

You'll also see a ton of bikers hanging out; honestly, they don't bother anyone and just chill with their own groups, but the panhandling and people trying to sell you random stuff in the parking lot is constant. Also, skip the snacks inside. They price gouge like crazy! Sometimes nearly 2x what you'd pay at 7-Eleven or Tom Thumb (which aren't even cheap to begin with). Last time I checked, a bag of Hot Cheetos here was 6 bucks! For perspective, they're $3.97 at Walmart and $4.79 at Target, It's a total rip-off. Final pro tip: For the love of God, do not park under the trees on the right side of the lot. I made that mistake once and came out to find my car LITERALLY covered in bird poop. It was so bad I had to drive straight into their car wash just to see out of the windshield. Consider yourself warned.

Mami Coco is the crown jewel of East Dallas. This place is the king. No question, these are the best street tacos I've had in Dallas. I usually come here once a week. I always get the three desebrado tacos, and then I switch it up with either cabeza, bistec, or fajita beef. The desebrado is perfectly seasoned and cooked every time. The flavor is unreal. They dip the corn tortillas in fat before grilling them, which gives them that perfect texture. Then they hit them with a big scoop of onions and cilantro. Simple setup, but it hits hard. This might be one of the biggest hole-in-the-wall spots you'll ever come across. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you might drive right by. But once you try it, you get it. The tacos do all the talking. I've had the chicken flautas too. They're solid. A nice, nostalgic snack. I've also tried the quesadillas, which are really good. But honestly, you come here for the tacos. That's where the magic is. read more

I've been enjoying their red enchiladas, they taste very authentically Mexican and well priced. They are not served with rice or beans just enchiladas topped with carrot and potatoes, lettuce and sour cream . It's a very small place , very popular so expect a good 20 to an hour wait. The only problem is that both locations are in sketchy areas. I would not recommend going after dark . When I was there 5/5/26 a Mexican dude was loud talking all kind of nonsense including him threatening the patrons indirectly. I felt very uncomfortable and did not enjoy my food . My family and I recently visited Mami Coco for the first time, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. Originally from Houston, we traveled to Dallas for the day and selected this establishment based on a review we saw on TikTok. However, our experience was disappointing, particularly with the 40-minute wait despite the restaurant not being full.
