Stopped by Pepe & Mito's while we were having an evening out in Dallas. When you arrive parking can be a bit tricky as you'll need to street park at pay the meter. When you walk in you'll feel like you are transported to a cantina in Mexico. You'll check in with the host and they'll seat you. I ordered the steak fajitas which were so tender and they were accompanied by fresh tortillas. The price point is also reasonable for the amount of food you get. If you are in deep ellum and looking for a great tex mex spot I can't recommend this place enough.

When we used to live in Dallas, Pepe and Mitos was a regular stop. We love their food. We made a quick trip to Dallas and had our family meet us there for lunch. It was excellent! Be sure and get the guacamole, it's so fresh and perfect with the chips and salsa. I had a cheese enchilada with queso and beans, perfect amount of food and so delicious too. Service is always right on point. They even remembered us from when we lived in Dallas. I highly recommend if you are looking for really good casual Tex Mex.

Everything was great here, I'm so glad I found this hidden gem which is near my work. I came for lunch with some coworkers. The place is huge and has a patio. The hot chips and salsa could fill me up by itself! I got the fajita steak taco lunch plate and it was delicious. The rice and beans are homemade, including the tortillas. I can't wait to go back and try a margarita. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Guy Fieri even visited them!

This place had pretty good tex-mex food, but not up to par with what I would expect in Texas. The chips were nice and crispy and the food was decent, with pretty average portion sizes. The server was very kind and allowed for substitutions even on the combos, which I greatly appreciated. However, the food took forever to come out even though it wasn't super crowded. The ambiance was nice and had a cute vibe, but nothing special.

My fellow Dallas Yelpers did not let me down on this place! I was in an area of town that I seldom go to, but wanted some good Mexican food. I looked up highly rated area in the Deep Ellum area and Pepe's and Mito's popped up. After reading a couple reviews I was in and headed their way! I loved the casual and relaxed atmosphere in the place from the moment we all walked in. We were made welcome and truly sensed from the staff here an appreciation that we were there. Our lunch was delicious! Like really good Tex-Mex food! I had 2 young very picky eaters with me and they both loved it as much as I did, so that REALLY says something when you can please old and young alike! My meal was Spinach and Cheese Quesadilla and it was really really delicious! Like I would go back tomorrow for it kind of delicious! Anyway, great experience with this place and I am SO thankful to my fellow Yelpers for helping to turn me on to a new place!

Had a great dinner here before a concert in deep ellum! They serve chips for free with great salsa and unlimited refills. My combination meal was huge and a great deal. The inside is simple but cute, and my server was kind letting us know they were serving a large party so our meals might come out a bit slower. Even with this, we ate quickly. Would definitely come back.

The food and service was awesome. I tried the albondingas soup and the chilli relleno. The soup was perfect. The chili pepper was a little soggy, and I was expecting a little bit more crunch but other than that it was still delicious. The rice and beans normal to be expected.

We are visiting family and today we went into Deep Ellum for an afternoon of walking, viewing the murals and grabbing lunch. We chose authentic Mexican and went to Pepe & Mito's. We were seated right away and she took our drink order while they brought the chips and salsa. I ordered a chicken taco salad without the cheese and sour cream. It came with a house dressing mixture of their salsa and vinegarette which was very good. The salad was delicious. The boys got enchiladas and said they were so tasty. The one wall has a beautiful mural painted on it. It's super casual but clean inside and the service was top notch! They have a lunch menu and we really enjoyed our meal!!

Wanted to give this place a try! Came for lunch and was NOT disappointed. The enchiladas I had were some of the best in Dallas. My husband had the pork carnitas, also amazing . My 17 month one son managed to lose both his shoes by the time we got to the car. I called to see if they were at the restaurant, one was! Sandy walked our route to the car and was able to find the other shoe! She went above and beyond! We will be back for sure!

We came all the way from Vegas to what has been reviewed as one of the top Mexican places in Texas let alone Dallas. This place delivered in so many ways from the perfect service (making my daughter feel amazing for her upcoming birthday) to the food. Our order was the tortilla soup, chile con queso, huevos rancheros, Fajita Tacos and Combo #1. A perfect order. It also has a neighborhood feel as most customers came in being called by their name and then walked to their favorite section. It was magical and great. None of my pictures are really about the food because it isn't really about just food at Pepe's but really about community.

My husband and I were on an unexpected quick trip to Dallas a few days ago and stayed nearby this place in Deep Ellum. Such a cool neighborhood! We hoped to grab some good Tex-Mex food while in town and Pepe's & Mito's had pretty good reviews so we headed there. We had no trouble getting a table and the staff was friendly and attentive. Lucky us, we happened to be there during happy hour! I had the house margarita on the rocks while hubby had a frozen strawberry margarita. At $5 each, they were a good deal while also being strong and tasty! They brought out warm chips with good salsa while we looked over the menu. I ended up getting a "House Speciality" item - Shrimp Enchiladas, which are served with rice, beans, and salad. At $18.95, I felt they were a tad pricey. But my husband had some of mine because he only ordered a Tortilla Soup. We would come back here again, especially during Happy Hour!

The food is delicious, super low key spot and friendly staff. Tacos Norteños are my go to dish. It comes with rice and beans too. Their Mexican bread pudding is a must try and optional you can add vanilla ice cream.

This is a hometown hero local, you can tell just by the outside of the building. It's right near the train station as well, so very easy to access. Been here for 30 years plus, so you know the love is in the building. The food was impressive. Everything here taste fresh and the waitress was accommodating. Authentic!!!

By far the best family owned Mexican spot in Dallas. Alex and the whole family know what they're doing.

    Any free parking available?

No but there is ample paid parking right next to it.

Anyone know if they are dog friendly by chance?

I've brought my dog there once. They have a gated patio so they seated us on the patio and my dog was next to us on the sidewalk separated by the gate

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. Even though we didn't have one, they were still able to accommodate our group which we really appreciated. The service was amazing...everyone was so polite, attentive, and fast. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner during the weekend. We'll definitely be coming back again!

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

This joint is quintessential Tex-Mex. Kitsch on the walls and a menu full of stuff that includes…read morethe same 3-4 ingredients. Cold, spicy salsa. Even colder bottled beer. The service here was great on my visit. The atmosphere, albeit a little crowded, was comfy. As I do with my first visit at any Tex-Mex joint, I order the combo plate. I was very pleased with it here. The taco was crunchy with nicely seasoned (non-greasy) ground beef and lettuce and cheese served on the side (I told them no tomatoes). The tamale had a wonderful brisket-like filling, although there was a little too much masa for me. The cheese enchilada was filled with actual cheese, which is a good (if not rare) thing these days. The chili con carne topping was wonderful, as was the rice -- which is among the most perfectly cooked that I have ever experienced in a Tex-Mex joint. The refried beans were run-of-the mill. I must say that the enchilada tortillas are firmer than most. Not necessarily bad, but they definitely don't par-fry these things before rolling. I tend to judge Tex-Mex joints by their salsa. If it's served warm, I take points off the board. This stuff is served ice-cold and has a wonderful bite. Bottom line: If I lived here, I'd be a regular. Excellent Tex-Mex.
