We visited Mamita's on a Saturday night at 8:30 and got a 30 min wait time and was seated in much less than that. It's walk in only so be ready to wait. The service here was very quick and efficient. Right after our drink order, the bread came out. It was warm and extremely fresh. Their cilantro jalapeño sauce is also so amazing and goes great with the warm bread. It was my first time trying Peruvian food and this was the best introduction i could've possibly had. The Lomo Soltado was perfect and also a large portion for 2. The meat was very tender and the potato was nicely soaked in all the juices. The ceviche was also very fresh, and the yam with the fish really created great a contrast of flavors. I would suggest dipping everything in the spicy green sauce. This place definitely made a mark as my first Peruvian experience and it's safe to say it's left me wanting more. This was my first time trying Peruvian food and Mamita was recommended to me by several friends. I must say that I really enjoyed the two dishes I had here. The Sopa de Choros (mussels soup with noodles) was exceptional for me. A very large and piping hot bowl of soup came out. In my soup was a half dozen, large mussels, with noodles and broth. The noodles were okay but what stood out for me was the mussels and the broth. The mussels were very good quality and cooked just right. The broth was refreshing, seasoned lightly, and comforting to have. The lomo saltado consisted of stir fried beef strips with onions and tomatoes served on a bed of french fries and a side of white rice. It was a good portion, tasty and for a minute there, I thought I was eating Asian food. The other dishes my friends had, the steamed fish and Paella type of dish all looked very good. If you visit Mamita, there is ample street parking on Brand but they also have a valet service. Enjoy! read more

i am not sure what I was expecting but I was expecting more, or maybe my taste for Peruvian is more narrow than I thought. While the food was good, not great, it was overpriced for what it was. Almost every entree was $20 or more. The prices in the pictures on Yelp are completely outdated now--almost everything is double the price now. Service is good...almost too good. I felt rushed to place an order. The atmosphere was way too loud. Once the restaurant became half full, it became so loud I could hardly hear myself talk without shouting. I was actually eager to get out of there. Parking is a plus, or at least it was on the Friday night I went. I actually think I prefer the Pollo Inka Peruvian chicken restaurant chain a lot more. read more

I love Peruvian food but I love food in general so I was really feeling under the weather and saw they had Thai chicken soup and it look very good from the photos on yelp. So I decided to take out instead of dinning in. I also got the Loma Soltaldo sorry for incorrect spelling. The Loma was good no complaints On this. But the chicken soup was not the best in my opinion. The soup was good and different the thing about this was I had no soup it was all the stuff it was overwhelming of chicken and it was not even a soup. The only reason I give a 4 stars it's because the food was ok but my waiter was able to serve me fast because we complained about be waiting for to long no having any one helping us with our order but this it's not the staff problem this is the owners problem I se few bad reviews complaining about the same problem and as a owner you have to see what is wrong to fix it .. Been going here for years and revisited not too long ago. The lomo saltado and ceviche are my go to dishes. The lomo saltado is flavorful and the ceviche is fresh. Definitely a must if you're dining here. The thing that really tops off the entree is their green sauce. It's got a kick but I'll take the hit and pour it over my bread and lomo saltado but not the ceviche. They also have Inca Kola, which tastes similar to a bubblegum/cream soda if you want something to wash it down with besides water. read more

Sooooo good!! Their lomo saltado is amazing. And you can't forget the inka kola. Parking is a hot mess, there is street parking but since the establishment is surrounded by dealerships sometimes there isn't any street parking out front. Their back dinning area is decent but does get cold when it is windy. Service is a bit slow at times they might be understaffed as I've seen only a handful of workers every time I've gone. Their fries are always cooked perfectly. Their tallarin is my absolute favorite though. It's the spaghetti like dish in my photo. So good! Overall this place does serve great Peruvian food. However, wait times are always a hit or miss. Sometimes you won't wait long other times it's like they went and cut the cow themselves. But if you don't mind waiting then definitely give this place a try because you won't regret it the food is delicious. read more

The service was really bad as well, not that anyone was rude but firstly they never refilled our waters. They didn't serve us bread (we had to ask). This place has been one of our favorite places to eat for a very long time, however, our last visit was disappointing. I noticed as I was leaving they had charged me $4.25 for one can of coke. 3 cans of coke cost me $12:75 which is crazy considering that it is just a can. We ordered pick up from here recently. We orders chaufa, ceviche mix and Milanese de pollo. I am giving 3 stars for the chaufa and the ceviche. The chaufa was nicely flavored and had a good taste to it. The ceviche as well was good. We asked for it to be spicy and it was. The Milanese de pollo however was missing something. I would give it 2 stars. It was a bit bland. It came with rice but I asked for mashed potatoes and the mashed potatoes were not good. They had some weird layer on them and had no flavor. I would not order this again. It's hard to find parking here. There are like 5 spots out in front but if you don't find there, it's bit hard to find street parking. read more

We went for my father's birthday and we all enjoyed our food. It's a small restaurant with delicious aji sauce. Biggest downside no parking.

I have been here twice. Both times have been wonderful. The service is outstanding and friendly. The menu has so many options for everyone's tastes. The service starts with warm sweet dinner rolls. I'm Not sure what the green sauce is, or if we were eating it correctly, but squeeze some on those rolls... mind blowing! We've ordered the two different Mariscos fried rice. Absolutely delicious. So I've been coming here for many decades, unfortunately recently there been some changes that are not for the best for your dinning experience. Both the lomo saltado and the ají de gallina were served super late and cold. My Chupe de camarones was good like always. The thing that's happened in the last few months is that the pricing has gone up significantly. The average cost per main plate is $24 when just last year the same dishes were $16. I hope they make adjustments. I'll be going to Lola's up the street next time where the dinning experience has consistently been great. read more

I will update review on their food, which was good, but near the end of my meal, a couple came in and sat at a table next to us. That table hadn't been cleaned yet. So the waitress didn't use a wet cloth to clean the table. She grabbed an open container that they put on every table full of cheese and jalapeño, then took one of the USED DIRTY napkins and swept all the crumbs and left over food onto her hand with the open container and they bounced into the hole and off onto the floor. That container was going to end up on someone's table without being disposed off or cleaned. So fucking unsanitary. UPDATE: despite the above mentioned cleanliness issue, hard to find parking, and not so attentive service, the food is legit. We had the camarones al ajo (shrimp in garlic) as an appetizer and it was delicious. Two of the entrees we got - the salto lomado (Beef and French fries cooked in a brown sauce) and the bistek frito (a pan fried large steak in garlic rub) were delicious. The fried fish was fresh but a miss. It says it comes with a sauce but that "sauce" was a pile of sliced raw onion??? Would eat here again, but they should get their staff in better shape and watch how they clean their tables. read more

Drove over an hour and half in traffic to eat here because I was craving my lomo saltado. Got a super rude waiter. A man that literally could not stand to wait on us. He would shake his leg as he was taking our order. I was getting two lomo saltado but was debating on the fish dish. Never ordered fish there before. Soooorryyyy Later he put our plates down so roughly on the table. Totally putting me on guard. Lomo was greasier than I remembered it. Meat not as great and fries totally soaked and not crispy at all. The fish on the other hand ended up being delicious. We got the whole fried tilapia. Was yummy. Parking is a hassle. It was SO LOUD especially due to this one large group. Not the restaurant's fault I guess. But the dining experience fell a couple notches since last time. read more

Mamita's is not an authentic Peruvian spot. As Peruvian that I am, I personally asked my family to take the day off of work in order to treat them and take them to this restaurant and unfortunately from the beginning to the end of our experience it was worst as time went by. The place is nicely set up and clean which I give them props for that 10/10. The server whom she was not Peruvian had no knowledge about the plates. Every time we would ask her for either more spicy sauce or another drink, she would not even smile had an expression on her face like we were bothering her. The plates had no flavor. Leche de tigre was too watery and huge amounts of lemon. the rocoto sauce was also watery which is not supposed to be like that. My mom left 80% of her arroz con mariscos because it had no taste. The chicha morada I dont know know what that was but it was chicha morada for sure. Will definitely tell all my Peruvian peeps to not come here. Ive been to Mamita's a few times over the years. My absolute go to is the lomo saltado. The ingredients are fresh and the meat is cooked to perfection. Parking: Street parking Lomo saltado was favored well, not too greasy and filling. The yuca a la huancaina was relatively small for the price. There was more potatoes than eggs and the sauce needed a bit more sauce but it was still delicious if you mix it in with the green sauce. This isn't my to go to place for peruvian but it is up there and the parking is definitely easier than Mario's. FYI: I saw a lot of people order the fried fish. read more
