If you're going to Mammoth Brewing Company and The Eatery on a trip to Mammoth mountain, I strongly recommend the Pork Belly Tacos. They have corn tortillas as an option if you're trying to limit gluten, although there is a note that the pork belly already has gluten. The Slow Roasted Pork Belly Tacos ($12) come with two tacos, you have a choice of Naan Bread or Corn Tortillas, and they come with Caramelized Red Onion, Cucumber, Chili Honey Sauce, and Pico de Gallo. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and when there is good weather in the summer, expect to wait in line for an outdoor table, but it is pretty quick if you are OK with sitting in the air-conditioning inside. They also have a free parking lot right next door, and the outdoor patio is dog friendly. You order from your table, and they have separate QR codes for both the drink menu and the food menu. The drinks come very quickly, and they include an array of offerings, such as beer, wine, and hard kombucha. This is one of the few places I've been to that has you order with scanning a QR code and not having a server. I will say the food was tasty especially the Mac n cheese and flat bread pizza. I was not a fan of the bits of chicken because they were too dry and not really flavorful. I liked the lime seltzer, it was smooth and pleasant. The restaurant was a bit crowded when I went, but service was spot on. It's a nice spot for a young crowd to hang out. I will say it does give a sports bar vibe. Many of their small bites sounded good like the Spicy Sicilian Meatballs or the Bang 'n Shrimp, but we decided to split the Chic'fil Sriracha Sandwich and a side Irish Caesar Salad. We loved the food and paired with the beer, it filled us up. The chicken was so juicy and the slaw packed a punch of flavor. Some other offerings include, tacos, plates and flatbread pizzas. The tap list seems to always consist of 7 core originals and 7 seasonals. You can order a flight of all 7 of either or, but not both. They also offer 3oz pours if you want to craft your own. I went with the originals flight which provided a nice variety of their kolsch, pilsner, pale ale, nut brown and IPA. I visited Mammoth Brewing while on a troubling road trip. I had driven about seven hours up from San Diego to retrieve my father, who had broken his femur on the slopes. I stopped in for a bite to eat and beer after a long, hard day. Mammoth brewing has the option to either order directly from the bar or seat yourself and order from your phone using a QR code. The dining area is a relaxed sports-bar kind of vibe and has a beautiful view of the mountains. I noticed many of the other diners there were regulars chatting with the beertender and swapping stories about their day on the slopes. Service was quick and friendly; I received my food before I knew it! I opted for the Damn Good Burger and a Mammoth Pilsner. I felt as though the $16 price tag was justified considering the high-quality ingredients. It wasn't your run-of-the-mill classic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and cheddar/American, but rather a smoky and sumptuous ground brisket with smoked Gouda and a sweet bacon onion jam. The greens consist of baby kale and arugula, which holds up well to the rest of the burger and adds a green and peppery vegetal flavor. Mammoth Brewery also distributes beer as far south as San Diego, so I already knew that the crisp Pilsner would be perfect... and it was even better on tap than it is from the can! What really raised my opinion, though, was the thoughtful care the staff showed me. I ended up taking some cans of beer to go so I could enjoy them back home. When the beertender struck up conversation with me and learned why I came to Mammoth, he showed compassion for my situation and assured me that injuries like my father's happen all the time and that many of the locals get patched up by the medical team and make full recoveries. He cut me a "locals," discount and told me that hopefully next time, I'll be visiting under better circumstances. He's right; next time I find myself in Mammoth, it will be because I'm on vacation and I'll definitely swing by again! We swung by after a day on the mountain for some much needed food and libations. Although it was busy on a Friday night, we were sat immediately. They have an upstairs and a downstairs with plenty of tables. The vibe is chill and everyone was super nice. The bartender made some great recommendations and we were pleased with everything we ordered. We started off with the mac & cheese. This was bomb! It wasn't overly smothered in cheese and it was savory and everything I could've asked for in a mac & cheese. I chose the chicken Caesar salad for my main dish and it was very good. The chicken thighs were cooked to perfection and the ratio between greens, meat, cheese, and dressing was perfect. Came to this spot at least twice during our stay at Mammoth. First night we got beers and wine, played pool downstairs. . My favorite wine is DAOU and they had it on TAP. What are the odds they have my favorite wine. That's how you know it' was meant to be. 2nd time we got burgers, beers and of course a wine for me. The food was fulfilling and a lot! The fries were super crispy and it came with a variety of sauces. The place is huge with some much merch. I'm gonna buy some shirts and beanies next time I come back. Glad I got the opportunity to try a beer from Mammoth Brewing Company. Steve and I shared their Yosemite Pale Ale which we enjoyed considerably. It's nice malty and light with notes of flavor of pine and of course hops. Nashville hot chicken was dry and overloaded with spice. Tacos were mediocre with weird combination (nan bread as tortilla). Burgers came with -nothing- other than few slices of pickles. Price... You order food at the table using your phone (QR code). Unlike other restaurants I've been, this place requires you to pay for your food at ordering... as well as your tip. All without a single human interaction. After ordering, the servers brings your food and drinks over. That's it. No one checking in on you, no one topping off drinks, no service, nada... This may be because we were in the basement, but I think there should be at least 1 server around to help. This type of service is no better than fast food restaurants. This brewery is large with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Because Covid - 19 was still lingering we sat at the bar where there weren't any people. Everyone was outside. Yay for us. Regarding the food, we ordered GBD Cod and Chips along with a Grilled Peach and Goat Cheese Flatbread Pizza. The food was so good and paired well with our brews. The atmosphere is lively here and great music playing in the background. We ended up purchasing some brews to take home as we enjoyed them so much. I almost loved this place...almost. Fun atmosphere and vibe and super crowded when we were there. Beer was good with a lot of different choices. Service started out pretty good from the hostess and person who seated us. After grabbing drinks from the bar, we ordered our food through the QR code all at the same time. My husband and 2 kids all received their food at the same time and I mentioned I was still waiting for my burger, the guy said it should be out soon. Fast forward 10 minutes, still no burger. I had my family start eating as they were politely waiting for me to get my food. Another 5 or 10 minutes go by and everyone is halfway done with their food, so my husband decides to flag someone down. He explains that everyone is nearly done eating and that I still haven't gotten my burger. The guy says "oh, just wait another 10 minutes or so and it should be out." For real? A half hour after everyone else?! Hubs decided to speak with a manager regarding the delayed food and curt response and within minutes my burger magically appeared. Luckily it was amazingly delicious so it nearly made up for the wait, but not quite since I had to eat alone while everyone pondered dessert. Kids were decently happy with their flatbreads but hubs thought his short rib plate was just ok for the price, he wished he had ordered something different. My family came here and we had an amazing experience!!! The only issue was that the wait was so long, but honestly that makes sense to me because it's a brewery. People come here to hang out a while and enjoy the live music, not just eat and go. The food was soooo gooood. We got the chicken and griddle, and the chicken was cooked to perfection- moist on the inside, crunchy skin on the outside. The griddle was good with corn bits in it, but I wish the breading was a tiny bit more flavorful. The tacos were also super delicious!! The beer is not bad by any means, but not necessarily super memorable. I like that they have their own private lot and you don't have to pay for parking considering how close it is to the Village. Our party of 6 was seated right away. We were brought downstairs. It felt like being in a dungeon, but a good thing is that it's also a game room with pool table and shuffle board table. There's also a water filtration system to fill up your water bottles. Once seated you can scan the QR codes to order your drinks and/or food. You pay for everything on the smartphone. They have WiFi info posted on the wall if you don't have good signal. I like that the beers are priced out per oz. $1.50 for their regular beers and $2.50 for the seasonal. I ordered the onion rings and banh mi sandwich. The onion rings are beer battered so it has an airy crispy crunch to it. Not dense and doughy like a lot of other places. You get a bbq and aioli sauce for dipping. The pork belly banh mi was ok. The flavors were kind of there and it did remind of Mendocino Farms version. I wished that the bread was like a typical Vietnamese sandwich where it was airy and crunchy. This bread was soft and dense. The pork belly was a bit dry though. But overall, it wasn't bad. I can't really say that the food here is great, but it's a good place to hang after the slopes and enjoy a cold one. Parking: We came for dinner and their parking lot was full. Across the street in an almost hidden turn is another parking lot that had plenty of spaces, but it's not lit at all so it can be difficult to locate. Ambience: It was freezing when we came, so although outdoor seating was available, it wasn't being used. Inside, there are 3 floors. The wait was about 40 minutes for our party of 7, so some of us ordered drinks and we all just chilled while we waited to be seated. We were taken to the 1st floor downstairs. After eating, we played at their pool table ($1 per round, which is very well priced). My only dislike was that the pool table wasn't positioned well, so we weren't able to make certain shots due to concern of poking other patrons. The table wouldn't budge, but there would've been plenty of room to play if they had positioned it differently. Service: You order via QR code, and the food was brought out relatively quickly. You get your own water at a machine against the wall--the flow of water was quite slow, so it takes a bit. Taste: I got the pork belly tacos, which were quite lovely! The pork was juicy and tender. We've been here a few times and it was good, this time was not great. First we sat upstairs and they don't have service till later so I had to walk downstairs to ask for sauce and napkins. The brussel sprouts were good, the fries were bland with no flavor. My husband got the chicken sandwich, the chicken was pounded so thin it was mostly breading. I got the quinoa bowl, it was just ok. The beers were excellent, and they have a great range of options to choose from. The staff were also very helpful in being able to describe the beers to help you make the best choice based on your preferences.
