You definitely get your money's worth in terms of portions-it's literally a to go box of full of food. BUT maybe my palate is not refined enough for Califas mexican cuisine, ese, or whatever ey. Reading the descriptions of their menu items, we were super looking forward to eating here. We picked up our order and because we were so excited to try it, we ended up eating in the parking lot instead of going home. We had the Carne Asada fries and the Flaming Cali Crunch with pollo asado. The carne asada itself was heavy on the cumin-left us wondering where there hint of lime went. Guac, sour cream and special sauce fries were good though. The Cali Crunch, while a good concept, was ok. The chicken was ok but there was so much going on, it was difficult to discern what the chicken was; I opened the box and as I cut that ginormous tortilla, some chicken spilled out but looked more like chunks of pork. Chicken was a bit dry on mine and the carne asada looked anything but ASADA. And the queso----i don't know what kind of cheese was used but it wasn't your typical Texas queso. Tasted more like kraft singles queso. While this CalMex grub certainly has an audience, I'd rather stick to TexMex than CalMex. read more

This was disgustingly good! We got the nocal burrito and it was so good! The thing is huge and definitely fed the 2 of us. We can't wait to order again and try new things! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was because the temperature wasn't hot and the fried Oreos specifically were cold. The Oreos had no crunch so I didn't love them. Edit: we ordered the helladilla and were super disappointed. We thought that it was very small compared to the burrito and wasn't great when splitting but it was the same cost. I was craving some sloppy food and the pics on their website looked legit - I placed a $56 order through Uber eats with an anticipated delivery of 50 min - cool. Waited, no updates via the app. So I called the number and it was to a third party service not even the restaurant. The third party service blamed Uber eats. DO NOT ORDER FOR DELIVERY. Ordered for delivery on UberEats. This restaurant indicated they'd use their own delivery drivers instead of Uber's, which is fine. However, when the order failed to arrive many minutes after the latest estimated delivery, I called for support. The phone number provided for this location is to a call center that provides support for multiple restaurants, and is not local (855 area code.) I was informed that the initial order was rejected by the driver and no one went to pick it up. I was advised by the 855# to call Uber and have them send another driver. I agreed, though I didn't realise at this time that Uber support ends at 5p EST, and it's now 9p CST. I called back to ManvsFries with the intent to confirm the address from the location I ordered from, and would drive down there and pick up our very late dinner. At this time, I'm informed that my order has been canceled, and they show $0 for 0 items. It was canceled at the same time I was on the phone with their support the first time. It's now an hour after it was supposed to be delivered and the restaurant/support team canceled the order on their end (though it still shows active on Uber's side.) Honestly, this place would take off if they fixed the ordering system and cut down on some of the seasoning. The ordering system and their queueing process result in a simple burrito or plate of nachos taking 30-45 min. Even then, if they finish making it early, you won't get notified. I placed an order there, waited an hour for my pickup slot, and then proceeded to go to the location and be told that they didn't have my order. I placed a (free) replacement order, only to be told the wait was another hour. I came to pick up my food again. When I got there, they handed me my food, only for me to find out it was the original order, 2+ hours old, and ice cold. I've gone there a few times, but it's just not worth the wait nor the hassle right now. The other thing just has to do with their seasoning. Whatever it is, it's too much. The carne asada is WAY too salty and herbaceous, and it ends up making everything taste off. I think it's too much nutmeg or cumin? Either way, this truck has everything going for it, but they need to get some help with handling orders properly in addition to fixing the strange taste with that meat. Hella Disappointing! Their menu and photos sounded great. I had a long day and was tired and hungry, so I put in an order via Uber Eats. It took well over an hour to get my food on a Thursday night. The order was in a large paper bag that was taped shut across the top. No way for the delivery driver to know if the order was accurate. I was ravenous hungry by the time it got here. I expected a top quality gourmet quesadilla for $15.50. What I got was on par with something you'd get from Taco Bell. Just $12 more expensive. It was cold and stale. It was just stale tortilla, meat that did not taste like chicken, cheese, and cold, stale French fries. It did not come with the three sides promised. Nor did it come with any salsa. I feel taken advantage of. How they think they can make it with this poor quality of food in a market like Austin is beyond my comprehension. Absolute incredible. Ordered it based off the free delivery and the 1 review that said the portions were huge. As a young guy who loves to eat this was the food for me. Not just the portion size but the flavor profiles. The fried Oreos were a little cold by the time they got to me but still delicious.
